STUMP: WEST IS ‘THE VOICE OF A GENERATION’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:45 pm

FALL OUT BOY frontman PATRICK STUMP holds hip-hop heavyweight KANYE WEST high on his list of musical influences - insisting the controversial rapper is "the voice of a generation".
Stump, who rocks alongside bassist Pete Wentz in the band, admits it was West’s recent track Love Lockdown of his new album 808s & Heartbreak that made him the ultimate fan - because the rapper isn’t afraid to stir up his emotions.
He tells People magazine, "It’s a breakup song, but it’s talking about how unfair he was being to his ex. He probably is the voice of this decade, the voice of a generation." (JMA/PE/ZN) WENN - FIFTH - HOLLYWOOD, SHOWBIZ & PEOPLE NEWS - 18 DECEMBER 2008

ANISTON’S NUDE PHOTOSHOOT LANDED BY ACCIDENT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:42 pm

JENNIFER ANISTON insists a photo of her naked wearing only a tie for the cover of an American men’s magazine was an accident - because the shoot was intended to expose her in mere "moments of undress".
The former Friends star shows off her fit figure as she approaches 40 in an eye popping cover for GQ - posing wearing nothing but a red and white striped tie.
But Aniston insists she didn’t quite intend to fully strip down.
She says, "There was a theme to that photoshoot. It was supposed to be moments of undress - starting off in a gown, and then the men were in their tuxedos, then we were going to have me in one of their shirts and then their pants and then somehow that all went out of the window and then there just ended up being a tie."

PIVEN BLAMES ‘HIGH MERCURY COUNT’ FOR AXED SHOWS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:36 pm

JEREMY PIVEN has blamed a "high mercury count" for the mystery illness that prompted him to abandon all upcoming performances for Broadway play SPEED-THE-PLOW.
Piven abruptly ended his run in the show - which marked his debut on Broadway - after doctors ordered him to "immediately" make his exit, which meant skipping performances on Tuesday (16Dec08) and Wednesday (17Dec08), according to his spokesperson.
The show began its run on 23 October (08) and Piven was scheduled to perform the until its close on 22 February (09).
Playwright David Mamet has yet to name a permanent replacement for the actor.
He adds, "I talked to Jeremy on the phone, and he told me that he discovered that he had a very high level of mercury. So my understanding is that he is leaving showbusiness to pursue a career as a thermometer.
"The good news is that some really great actors will be helping out and stepping in, which to me is a sign of great heroism and friendship." A source tells the New York Post that the star - who earns a reported $15,000 (£9,760) a week performing in the show - has recently complained of "exhaustion" and "being tired".
The play’s investors are reportedly discussing calling in their own doctor to get a second opinion after the box office handed out an estimated $20,000 (£13,005) worth of refunds prompted by Piven’s absence. (JMA/PYN/ZN) * WAR OF WORDS AT BRANCATO TRIAL SOPRANOS actor LILLO BRANCATO JR’s murder trial erupted into chaos on Wednesday (17Dec08) when the family of the cop he allegedly killed accused him of smirking.
Officer Daniel Enchautegui’s sister Yolanda Ross hit out at Brancato Jr’s response when the jury returned from their deliberation to ask for information about the two lesser charges the actor is facing, burglary and attempted burglary.
Claiming the 32-year-old appeared elated, Ross said, "You have no idea how much I’m sick of seeing that guy. I can’t take this anymore. He’s smiling and laughing." Police union head Patrick Lynch also targeted Brancato Jr’s lawyer Joseph Tacopina, accusing him of laughing.
He said, "To sit there and have a professional attorney laughing as if this was a joke in front of a dead man’s family is the most insulting thing that ever happened in front of a bench in this state." The jury is currently considering the charges against Brancato Jr, whose friend Steven Armento shot officer Enchautegui dead on the evening of 10 December 2005, as he disturbed them allegedly robbing a house in the Bronx, New York.

(JMA/WNWA/ZN) * REZNOR FURIOUS HIS SONGS ARE USED FOR TORTURE NINE INCH NAILS rocker TRENT REZNOR is fuming after discovering the band’s music has been used by the U.S. military to torture enemy soldiers.
Britain’s Musicians Union recently launched a campaign to stop armies around the world from using music as a means of torture.
And Reznor is horrified to think of his art being used in such a way.
He writes online, "It’s difficult for me to imagine anything more profoundly insulting, demeaning and enraging than discovering music you’ve put your heart and soul into creating has been used for purposes of torture. If there are any legal options that can be realistically taken they will be aggressively pursued, with any potential monetary gains donated to human rights charities.
Thank GOD this country has appeared to side with reason and we can put the Bush administration’s reign of power, greed, lawlessness and madness behind us".

ESTELLE’S FURY AT DIZZEE RASCAL INTERVIEW

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:36 pm

Singer ESTELLE has blasted BBC journalist JEREMY PAXMAN for treating British rapper DIZZEE RASCAL like an "idiot" during a recent TV debate.
The Fix Up, Look Sharp hitmaker - real name Dylan Mills - appeared on the Newsnight current affairs show last month (Nov08) during a discussion about race and nationality.
At one point host Paxman asked the London-born rapper if he felt he was "British" and if he was interested in a career in politics.
Mills responded to the question, saying: "Course I’m British, man - you know me. It doesn’t matter what colour you are. It matters what colour your heart is man, and your intentions. I think a black man, purple man, martian man could run the country as long as he does right by the people." But the incident infuriated American Boy singer Estelle, who is adamant Paxman was patronising the rapper.
She tells New Statesman magazine, "I was like, ‘He is taking you for an idiot right now! Did no-one brief you?’ Paxman’s not going to get away with asking me, ‘Do I think I’m British?’" But the BBC has defended Paxman’s line of questioning: "The topics being discussed were race, nationality and identity, and this question was a natural part of that discussion."

GEORGE THANKS BOWIE FOR ‘COMING OUT’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:36 pm

Former CULTURE CLUB frontman BOY GEORGE has praised DAVID BOWIE - for helping him come out as gay.
The openly homosexual singer - real name George O’Dowd - admits he was "confused" by his sexuality as a teenager - but had the courage to accept his feelings when Bowie confessed in 1972 that he is bisexual.
And O’Dowd hopes he had a similar effect on adolescents during his 1980s heyday.
He told fans at a concert in London on Wednesday (17Dec08), "When I was a little queer boy I was very confused. Then along came this man - David Bowie and everything seemed to make sense for me, and a lot of other people too, I suppose. I think I had the same impact to people a few years later. I’m very proud of that."
