Hollywood star WILL SMITH is happy to sign autographs for fans - because it means he can leap to the front of the queue in posh restaurants.
The Hancock actor insists he never moans about the constant attention he receives from paparazzi or movie-goers as it is the price he pays for fame.
And he is adamant that by always agreeing to give fans his signature, he earns the right to be treated like a star.
Smith tells USA Today newspaper, "By being famous, you’re afforded rights that other people who aren’t famous aren’t afforded. If I’m going to walk to the front of the line (at the restaurant) because I’m Will Smith, then I have to sign all the autographs.
"If I don’t want to sign any autographs, I don’t walk to the front of the line. It’s that simple. Stand in the line with everybody else."

Actor TONY LO BIANCO is single at the age of 72 after parting from his wife.
The star, famed for his role in the 1971 crime film The French Connection, has split with his wife of six years Elizabeth after she recently filed for divorce.
But Lo Bianco tells the New York Post the break-up was "very amicable", insisting his former spouse remains close to his children and grandchildren.
He adds: "She is a brilliant woman - a really terrific lady."

AMY ADAMS begged and hassled DOUBT director JOHN PATRICK SHANLEY to cast her in the movie, even after he offered her part to NATALIE PORTMAN.
The Oscar nominee was a huge fan of the story, which Shanley wrote, and was desperate to appear in the big screen adaptation, despite the odds being stacked up against her.
She explains, "They had offered it (to Portman). I called every week, to see if she was doing it." Her luck changed when Portman said no, and she was offered the role of Sister James. But Adams still had to overcome a logistical problem.
She adds, "I lied to John Patrick Shanley and told him I was in New York, so when he called, I had to get the red eye (overnight flight) from Los Angeles, to get there."

SHARON OSBOURNE is under police investigation after allegedly scuffling with a contestant on her U.S. reality TV show ROCK OF LOVE: CHARM SCHOOL.
Megan Hauserman claims Osbourne assaulted her during a recording of the show’s reunion special on Saturday (13Dec08).
Osbourne is said to have flipped when Hauserman insulted her by saying she is only famous because of her marriage to Black Sabbath singer Ozzy Osbourne.
The rock matriarch allegedly ran across the stage, grabbed Hauserman by the hair, and scratched her.
Website TMZ.com reports that the pair had to be pulled apart by security guards.
Hauserman went to hospital the following afternoon (14Dec08) and filed a report with the Los Angeles Police Department that night.
Authorities have confirmed Osbourne is a suspect in a minor battery allegation but that no charges have been filed.

The remaining members of opera group THE THREE TENORS have vowed never to replace their late bandmate LUCIANO PAVAROTTI after his death last year (07).
Pavarotti died on 6 September 2007 after losing his battle with pancreatic cancer.
And now surviving singers Jose Carreras and Placido Domingo have pledged never to reform the group with a replacement - as a mark of respect to Pavarotti.
Carreras says, "There will never be another Three Tenors. Placido and I will never sing with another tenor - it would not be respectful to the memory of Luciano. But Placido is a dear friend of mine and we will take every opportunity we can to sing together."

Pop star KYLIE MINOGUE is planning to reprise her acting career in the future, as she often wonders how her life would have unfolded if she hadn’t turned her hand to singing.
The Wow hitmaker shot to fame in Australian soap opera Neighbours in the 1980s before launching a hugely successful singing career off the back of the show.
The diminutive star had a cameo in Britain’s Doctor Who Christmas special last year (07) - and Minogue wouldn’t rule out doing more acting in the future.
She says, "I’ve been concentrating on music for such a long time now that I sometimes have to remind myself that I started out acting! "I wonder what my life would be like if I had not followed a recording career and instead, focused on the craft of acting." "Acting definitely plays a role in music and many aspects of my musical career but I do look forward to more film or stage acting in the future."

Actor STEVE GUTTENBERG has likened his part in a British pantomime show to a meal - insisting he’s the meat of the feast.
The Police Academy star is currently onstage in the U.K. playing Baron Hardup in a Christmas musical production of Cinderella at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley, Kent.
He says, "It’s important for me to shine. I’m somewhat of the name that the show uses to help sell the ticket." And to help explain his point, he offers a food analogy: "You have got all these super-amazingly talented actors around me - they’re the vegetables.
"Then you’ve got the baked potato - that’s the theatre itself. Then you’ve got the meat of the day. Whether it’s chicken or ham or brisket, it’s me."

Former THE COSBY SHOW star PHYLICIA RASHAD is the latest celebrity to lend her body to U.S. diet firm Jenny Craig - in a bid to shed her unwanted weight.
The actress, who played Clair Huxtable in the beloved 80s sitcom, is the company’s newest star spokesperson and will start her new role in January (09).
A spokesperson for the company says, "Jenny Craig confirms a new relationship with Phylicia Rashad. We look forward to sharing the details at a press conference in late January." Rashad follows in the footsteps of previous slimmers Queen Latifah, actress Kirstie Alley and Valerie Bertinelli, who have all lost weight while promoting the Jenny Craig lifestyle.

Burlesque star DITA VON TEESE was branded a "poor mimic" by the late BETTIE PAGE for trying to impersonate the beauty.
The legendary pin-up died on Thursday (11Dec08) aged 85 after suffering a heart attack earlier this month (Dec08).
But Von Teese remembers her encounter with the star fondly.
Of their meeting, Von Teese recalls, "She looked me up and down and said, ‘You’re an attractive girl, but a poor Bettie Page mimic’.
"I said, ‘I know’ and she laughed."

Animated film WALL-E has been given another major movie nod - it’s been named one of the best movies of the year (08) by a prestigious film awards board.
The futuristic film, about a robot in space, was honoured by The American Film Institute’s (AFI’s) list of the year’s best in film and television on Sunday night (14Dec08).
The family film is on a winning streak - it was handed the Best Film of The Year by the Los Angeles Film Critics last week (09Dec08).
The other movies on the top ten list were Clint Eastwood’s Grand Torino, the Brad Pitt-starring The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Batman movie The Dark Knight, the historical drama Frost/Nixon; Frozen River, the comic book adventure Iron Man, the portrayal of politician Harvey Milk’s life, Milk, Wendy and Lucy and Mickey Rourke’s The Wrestler.
Honourees in the television category included U.S. hits The Wire, The Shield and The Office.

Acting legends MARLON BRANDO and ROBERT DUVALL lightened the mood on the set of the GODFATHER by flashing their backsides at other cast and crewmembers.
James Caan, who played Brando’s onscreen son Santino ‘Sonny’ Corleone in the 1972 movie, reveals the on-set pranks in a new picture book, called the Godfather Family Album.
And he insists Brando was the ultimate joker: "They’re standing at the wedding ceremony when they posed for that picture, and there are 500 extras, old ladies, old men, kids, everybody.
"Bobby Duvall sees the ultimate moon. He and Brando had a race to drop their pants and Bobby’s got hitched, and Brando beat him, bent over and spread his cheeks and mooned everybody.
"We had this belt made; Moon Champion, hand-tooled leather. Brando got it."

Former THE STONE ROSES star GARY ‘MANI’ MOUNFIELD is convinced the band will reform next year (09) to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the band’s debut album.
The group split in 1996 and frontman Ian Brown went on to carve out a successful solo career, while Mounfield joined Scottish rockers Primal Scream.
Earlier this year (08) Mounfield voiced his interest in getting the band back together - but because of Brown’s disinterest in reforming, the plans were put on hold.
But now Mounfield is certain he can get Brown back on board for a full reunion.
He says, “Me, John and Reni are up for doing it and Ian just needs some working on.
“Next year is the 20th anniversary of the first album. It’s the ideal time to do it. It’s something I would love to do before we are all fat and bald. Start the campaign.”

Rap star COOLIO is set to star in U.K. reality show CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER, according to reports.
Coolio will join a group of celebrity contestants competing in a series of challenges together inside the Big Brother house - while having no contact with the outside world.
Also touted to join the line-up for next month’s (Jan09) all-star show is pint-sized actor Verne Troyer, reports AllHipHop.com.
The Gangsta’s Paradise hitmaker is no stranger to being on TV screens - he stars in Coolio’s Rules, a U.S. programme which follows him as he tries to juggle his career as a musician, his catering business and being a single parent of four.

TAKE THAT star GARY BARLOW has his eye on an all-star collaboration - he would love his band to team up with British girl group GIRLS ALOUD.
The singer met Girls Aloud pop star Cheryl Cole when he accepted a mentoring role on U.K. reality TV show The X Factor, on which Cole is a judge.
And the encounter left Barlow pondering the idea of a duet with Cole and her bandmates.

Music mogul SIMON COWELL was treated like a schoolboy as he waited to meet BRITNEY SPEARS on the set of his British talent show THE X FACTOR, according to fellow judge DANNII MINOGUE.
The Toxic hitmaker made a much criticised appearance on the reality show last month (Nov08) - but it didn’t stop the judges clamouring to meet her.
And Minogue reveals how the singer’s entourage ensured Spears was left alone until she was ready to meet them - and had them lining up like youngsters waiting for class.
She says, "It was hysterical. We were all like little kids at the principal’s office. There were so many security guards and PR people and they had to block the whole corridor before she could come out the door." But Minogue has blasted the 27-year-old for not meeting the contestants competing on the show.
She adds, "They were genuinely excited to be in her presence and she only had to say ‘Hi’ to five acts. At that point, I thought, ‘What a shame because you’ve just crushed those contestants.’ She didn’t have to be like that."

MERYL STREEP was rejected for a role in 1976 movie KING KONG by film maker DINO DE LAURENTIS, who told her she was too ugly.
The Oscar winner landed an audition with the veteran Italian producer, but he was unimpressed with her physical attributes, and dismissed her crudely, in Italian - not releasing Streep spoke the language fluently.
Streep says, "He said to his son, who organised the meeting, "She’s ugly. Why did you bring me this thing.’ "He didn’t realise I’d just graduated and studied Italian 105." "When I replied in Italian, he looked like he had been shot." Instead of Streep, the role went to Jessica Lange.

Shock rocker MARILYN MANSON has landed a surprising new collaborator for his next album - R&B star NE-YO.
Ne-Yo - real name Schaffer Smith - is best known for his solo singing efforts and the songs he was written for Whitney Houston, Celine Dion and Britney Spears.
But he insists he is relishing a change in direction.
He says, "I’m sitting down next with Marilyn Manson so we can write songs for his new album.
