GYPSY TO CLOSE ON BROADWAY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:33 pm

The Broadway revival of GYPSY is the latest show to fall victim of plummeting ticket sales on New York’s theatre district - and will close in the New Year (09).
The musical, about burlesque performer Gypsy Rose Lee, has been one of the most popular draws on Broadway, and landed a clutch of Tony Awards this year (08).
But increasing empty seats have prompted producers to pull the plug, more than two months before cast members were due to take their final bow.
Producer Roger Berlind tells the New York Daily News, "Due to these uncertain financial times, my partners and I have made the difficult decision to close."
