WOOD SET FOR BROADWAY’S SPIDER-MAN?

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:51 am

EVAN RACHEL WOOD is headed for the Broadway stage after reportedly landing the leading lady role in the musical adaptation of box-office smash SPIDER-MAN.
The Hollywood actress is said to have been cast as the web-spinning superhero’s love interest Mary Jane Watson - portrayed by Kirsten Dunst in the film series - in the forthcoming New York stage show, which will feature music by U2 rockers Bono and The Edge.
The live venture will re-team Wood with Julie Taymor, who directed their 2007 film Across The Universe.
And Taymor is "still trying to convince" Wood’s Across The Universe co-star Jim Sturgess to take the title role, according to a report on IESB.net.
Wood is due to start rehearsals in June next year (09).
