ASHLEE SIMPSON-WENTZ and her rocker husband PETE WENTZ are reportedly struggling to entice U.S. celebrity magazines to buy snaps of their newborn baby BRONX MOWGLI.
The couple welcomed their firstborn in November (08), and the proud parents are said to be keen to show their tot on the front pages of a popular American publication.
But the pair has reportedly failed to secure a deal with any of the major U.S. tabloids, according to New York gossip column PageSix.
A source tells the publication, "Pete and Ashlee have approached every single celebrity magazine with offers to sell their first photos, but nobody wants them. Covers of them tend not to sell well."

Late actor HEATH LEDGER has earned a posthumous nomination for his role as The Joker in BATMAN movie THE DARK KNIGHT at the 2009 Golden Globe Awards.
The Australian star - who was found dead at his New York apartment in January (08) - has earned a nod for Best Performance By An Actor In A Supporting Role In A Motion Picture.
Ledger will compete against Tom Cruise and Robert Downey Jr. for their roles in war comedy Tropic Thunder, Philip Seymour Hoffman in Doubt and Ralph Fiennes for The Duchess.
Ledger’s father, Kim, has spoken of his delight at his son’s nomination, telling People.com, "This nomination is deeply appreciated and is not lost on those of us who continue to love and miss him. We are so proud our boy’s work is being recognised in this way." The movies battling it out for the coveted Best Motion Picture Drama award include Brad Pitt’s The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, Frost/Nixon, The Reader, Revolutionary Road and Slumdog Millionaire.
The nominees in the Best Director category are Danny Boyle for Slumdog Millionaire, Stephen Daldry (The Reader), David Fincher (The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button), Sam Mendes (Revolutionary Road) and Ron Howard (Frost/Nixon).
Angelina Jolie and her partner Brad Pitt are also both up for awards - Jolie has been nominated for the Best Performance By An Actress in a Motion Picture Drama for her role in Changeling, while Pitt received a Best Actor for his performance in The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button. Jolie will fight it out against Anne Hathaway (Rachel Getting Married), Meryl Streep (Doubt), Kristin Scott Thomas (I’ve Loved You So Long) and Kate Winslet (Revolutionary Road). The other stars nominated in the Best Actor category are Leonardo DiCaprio (Revolutionary Road), Frank Langella (Frost/Nixon), Sean Penn (Milk) and Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler). Hollywood actor JOSH HARTNETT has accepted libel damages of $30,000 (£20,000) from a British newspaper over an untrue story of a "sexual dalliance" with a mystery woman at a London hotel.
The report in the Daily Mirror alleged that the actor was captured on CCTV cameras with a woman in the library of hotel in the Soho area.
But the Pearl Harbour star angrily refuted the claims, and at a hearing in London on Thursday (11Dec08) the newspaper admitted the story was entirely untrue.
The star’s lawyer Graham Atkins told London’s High Court that the paper had accepted the allegations were "entirely false".
Hartnett, who has recently been starring in the London theatre production of hit Tom Cruise film Rain Man, will donate the money to charity.

OWEN WILSON felt under pressure meeting his MARLEY & ME co-star JENNIFER ANISTON - because he was so desperate for her to like him.
The Wedding Crashers actor got on famously with Aniston on the set of the upcoming comedy.

Hollywood star MERYL STREEP still gets insecure when she takes on a new movie role.
The veteran actress has been nominated for an Academy Award 14 times and has starred in more than 45 films, in a career spanning 31 years.
But Streep admits she still gets nervous when asked to a play a new character, although she believes her fears help her become a better actress.
She says, "Fear is a good thing. Fear is your friend. Everything that destabilises you can help you. They taught us that in drama school. If you’re comfortable, you’re not doing your job. Most actors are constitutionally insecure. It’s sort of necessary."

Hollywood actor JIM CARREY mastered basic Korean for his new movie YES MAN.
The funnyman had to converse in Korean with a bridal saleswoman for a scene in the comedy - and decided it was an opportunity to get to grips with a language he’d always been interested in.
He explains, "It took about four weeks of every day studying it phonetically.
It was so difficult. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life.
"I had a Korean coach who literally was afraid to go back to Korea if I got it wrong. He’s telling me, ‘No, this is serious. I will be hurt.’"

MARIAH CAREY’s pregnancy rumours refuse to go away - she has reportedly scrapped plans for a forthcoming tour to prepare for her first child.

GWYNETH PALTROW will snub Christmas in her native America for the sake of her marriage to COLDPLAY rocker CHRIS MARTIN, according to U.S. reports.
The couple - who have two children together - have been dogged by recent rumours of an impending split.

The source adds, "Gwyneth has the Madonna bug… bad. It’s eerie. Gwyneth acts normally until Madonna comes around, and then Gwyn is all about Madonna, all the time. Madge has even introduced Gwyneth to all her friends.

Actor LEONARDO DiCAPRIO has warned the next generation of movie stars to ignore the hype and focus on their careers - as fame can quickly fade.
The Titanic star has risen to become one of the hottest properties in Hollywood after appearing in a string of blockbuster movies.

Veteran comedian JERRY LEWIS will be honoured with an Academy Award for his humanitarian work at next year’s (09) Oscars ceremony.
The 82 year old is set to receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at the Hollywood event in February (09) in recognition of his annual fundraising telethons for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
The beloved funnyman helped found the research organisation in 1950, and has reportedly raised an estimated $2 billion (£1.31billion) for the cause since his annual U.S. telethons began in 1966.
Sid Ganis, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, says, "Jerry is a legendary comedian, who has not only brought laughter to millions around the world but has also helped thousands upon thousands by raising funds and awareness for those suffering from muscular dystrophy." Lewis will join a list of stars who have received the intermittently-awarded honour, including Bob Hope, Gregory Peck, Audrey Hepburn and Paul Newman.

Blind soul superstar STEVIE WONDER is in talks to dance with the stars! The Sir Duke hitmaker has been approached to become the first blind celebrity to take part in hit TV show Dancing With The Stars - and he’s seriously considering the idea.

SMASHING PUMPKINS have vowed never to make another album - because frontman BILLY CORGAN is sick of fans only listening to their favourite tracks.
The moody rockers split in 2000 before reuniting in 2006 to release a new LP, Zeitgeist.
But the record received mixed reviews - and Corgan has now quit recording albums because he insists fans don’t even listen to every song.
He says, "There is no point. People don’t even listen to it all. They put it on their iPod, they drag over the two singles, and skip over the rest… Our primary function now is to be a singles band, that drives Pumpkins Inc through singles. We’ll still be creative, but in a different form." The band also plan to turn their back on stadium concerts and only play tiny venues in future.
Corgan adds: "We’ll go small and do exactly what we want to do and stop playing catalogue. We’ll be like a new band that can’t rely on old gimmicks.
I’m not stupid. I want people to feel good about what we do."

Legendary musician JERRY DAMMERS has slammed his former THE SPECIALS bandmates’ 2009 reunion plans - insisting he has been "driven out" of their comeback tour.
The British ska band is preparing to reform for a string of gigs across the U.K. in spring (09) after their successful appearance at Britain’s Bestival show in September (08) - the first time the group had played together since their 1981 split.
Earlier this year (08), frontman Terry Hall confirmed that Dammers wouldn’t join the group on their forthcoming tour, but claimed that "the door remains open" for his return.
However, Dammers alleges his former bandmates made it clear he wasn’t to be part of the reformation - insisting they failed to tell him about the group’s comeback plans.
A statement on behalf of Dammers says, "Jerry has a duty to inform anybody who may be interested of the true situation, which is that he was not invited to take part in this proposed tour, or even told about it.
"He also has to say that claims that ‘the door is still open’ to him fail to mention that Jerry has been driven out every time he has attempted to get involved over the last year. He also wonders why this appears in the newspaper when former bandmates have his phone number?" And Dammers claims he was given a "severe dressing down" by his bandmates during a meeting in which he proposed ideas for their comeback.
The statement adds, "A meeting was called to which Jerry was not invited.
Jerry turned up anyway and played the music he had started recording, and suggested starting serious rehearsals, but was subjected to a severe dressing down from people who had barely spoken to him in 25 years.
"Jerry sees this whole thing as a takeover, rather than a proper reunion…
At the moment this is not the proud reunion and 30th anniversary celebration Jerry had hoped for." Dammers returned to the spotlight in June (08) when he took to the stage at Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday celebrations in London’s Hyde Park with Amy Winehouse. The pair performed a duet of the rocker’s Free Nelson Mandela anthem.
The Specials are scheduled to play a series of shows throughout April and May (09).
