CHILEAN CARDINAL: MADONNA CAUSES ‘IMPURE THOUGHTS’
MADONNA’s sex-charged stage show is causing controversy in Chile - after a retired Cardinal blasted the pop superstar for causing "impure thoughts" in the country.
The singer - currently on the Latin American leg of her Sticky & Sweet tour performed her first concert in the country on Wednesday (10Dec08) in Santiago.
Roman Catholic Cardinal Jorge Medina - who was chosen to announce the election of Pope Benedict XV - used a bizarre tribute to a late dictator to denounce the Sorry hitmaker on Wednesday (10Dec08), blasting her stage antics.
Pausing from his tribute to the late Augusto Pinochet, he said, "This woman comes here and in an incredibly shameless manner, she provokes a crazy enthusiasm, an enthusiasm of lust, lustful thoughts, impure thoughts."
