MILK FILM HONOURED BY PRODUCERS GUILD

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:39 pm

Actor SEAN PENN’s new biopic MILK has been honoured by the Producers Guild of America for its portrayal of the first openly gay man elected to major public office in the U.S.
The Gus Van Sant-directed film has been honoured with the Guild’s Stanley Kramer Award, handed out to films which take on provocative social issues.
Penn stars opposite James Franco as San Francisco politician Harvey Milk in the movie.
Milk made history in 1977 when he won a seat on the San Francisco board of supervisors.
He was murdered by a board colleague the following year, along with city Mayor George Moscone.
The award will be presented at the guild’s awards show on 24 January (09).
