KNOWLES LOSING SLEEP OVER SINGLE LADIES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:32 pm

Pop star BEYONCE KNOWLES is losing out on hours of beauty sleep - because she’s addicted to staying up late and watching fans perform her famous dance moves online.
The success of Knowles’ catchy tune Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) blew up when the star shook to the beat in her new music video, wearing only a body-hugging leotard and high heels.
The singer found her inspiration after stumbling across a clip of a 1960s Bob Fosse routine called Mexican Breakfast on video sharing website YouTube.com.
And now she can’t stop surfing the net for spoofs.
She tells U.S. magazine OK! "It’s beautiful, it’s amazing and I love it! I stay up all night watching them."

  • DEPP AND BURTON TO REMAKE DARK SHADOWS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:27 pm

JOHNNY DEPP and TIM BURTON are teaming up once again for a big-screen adaptation of the popular Gothic soap opera DARK SHADOWS, according to a top Hollywood producer.
In a recent interview, producer Richard D. Zanuck confirmed rumours the longterm collaborating pair, whose next project Alice in Wonderland is slated for release in 2010, would take on their eighth film together.
Zanuck tells Collider.com, "I’m doing next summer - with Tim Burton and Johnny Depp - Dark Shadows, which is an old ’70s soap opera (that aired) here in the United States." And starring in the film will be a dream come true for Depp - who was obsessed with the spooky programme as a child.
Zanuck adds: "(Depp) was obsessed, as a young person (with Dark Shadows). He used to sneak out of school to get home to turn on the television set. It was a very popular show for about four or five seasons."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:27 pm

Actress AMANDA BYNES has vowed never to date another actor after an ex-boyfriend’s cheating ways nearly "killed" her.
The Hairspray star, 22, tells American Cosmopolitan magazine she was so shaken after her split with an unnamed actor she moved back in with her parents for two months to soothe her heartache.
Bynes says, "(He) ended up breaking my heart. I was so hurt. I’m a confident person, but it killed me." And though the actress admits she’s turned on by Hollywood’s hunky leading men, Bynes refuses to be another actor’s arm candy - including the sexy stars of hit TV show Gossip Girl.
She adds, "Obviously, Chace Crawford is gorgeous, but I wouldn’t want to date him. He’s too pretty. Maybe he’s a very smart guy and maybe he’s my soulmate but that’s not the type I go for."

  • BLADE RUNNER NAMED BEST SCI-FI MOVIE EVER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:27 pm

BLADE RUNNER has been named the best sci-fi movie of all time in a new online poll.
The futuristic film, directed by Ridley Scott and starring Harrison Ford and Rutger Hauer, tops a list compiled by editors at Moviefone.com - beating all the Star Wars, Alien, and Terminator movies hands down.
Moviefone editors explain their choice, "A box office dud at the time of its release, this movie has undergone more facelifts than Joan Rivers
. Regardless, it’s a dark future with film noir elements dripping from every pore." The poll also throws down the gauntlet for movie makers to create a new contender - none of the top 25 was made in the 21st Century.
The top ten is as follows: Blade Runner, 1982 Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, 1980 Aliens, 1986 Star Wars: A New Hope, 1977 The Day the Earth Stood Still, 1951 The Matrix, 1999 Terminator 2, Judgement Day, 1991 The Thing, 1982 Alien, 1979 Forbidden Planet,
    1956.

  • LAWRENCE BLASTS LAWSUIT CLAIM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:22 pm

THE RACONTEURS bass player ‘LITTLE’ JACK LAWRENCE has blasted claims he has launched legal action against an ex-girlfriend to claw back $10,000 (£6,670) in unpaid rent.
Reports surfaced earlier this week (begs01Dec08) alleging the rocker had filed suit in Nashville, Tennessee against a woman known only as Kelly.
It was alleged he was seeking unpaid rent from the woman following their break-up after 10 years together.
But Lawrence has now categorically denied taking legal action against the mystery woman.
A spokesperson for the band said: "The item regarding Jack Lawrence from The Raconteurs… is 100 per cent untrue. It’s unsubstantiated garbage."

  • MINNELLI DAZZLES CRITICS WITH NEW YORK SHOW

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:22 pm

Veteran entertainer LIZA MINNELLI has dazzled critics with her comeback show making a triumphant return to Broadway after nearly a decade.
The star returned to the New York stage in her headlining show Liza’s at the Palace on Wednesday (03Dec08).
Minnelli covers signature songs including Cabaret, I Would Never Leave You and Maybe This Time - which she sings seated on the stage.
Musing about her ability to perform at age 62, she says, "Remember how I used to sit down in the second act? Now I sit down in the first act." Critics questioned whether Minnelli could make a successful comeback after her hiatus.
But in an early review of the show, the New York Times applauded the singer for what appeared to be the makings of a triumphant return, saying Minnelli was "sounding strong and grounded" as she prepared to take the stage.
And New York Daily News theatre critic Joe Dziemianowicz insists the show is "100 per cent fantastic entertainment," calling the star "fit, funny, surprisingly energetic and in her best voice in ages".
He adds, "Minnelli and company ignite the stage with joy and enthusiasm…
(she) is one of a kind, just like New York." Liza’s at the Palace is scheduled to run through 28 December (08).

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:22 pm

OASIS star NOEL GALLAGHER wants his bandmate brother LIAM to strike out on his own and pursue a solo career.
The rocker siblings are currently on the road in North America, and are slated to play a full U.K. stadium tour next summer (09).
But frontman Liam is so eager to get back in the studio as soon as they finish their trek, Noel is urging him to release a solo project separate from Oasis.
He says, "Liam’s always the first person to start rushing things. I think if he wants to get back in the saddle that quick, he should do it for himself.
He’s got tonnes and tonnes of songs." And the guitarist has such a large stockpile of his own tunes, he is also considering releasing a solo project.
He adds: "There are songs that have just fallen by the wayside that are still great but have missed their moment. Like Stop The Clocks (pulled from their LP Don’t Believe The Truth), for instance. That needs to come out soon. At the end of this tour, I’d like everyone to do something separately. I think it would be interesting for our fans."

  • WINSLET DEFENDS NEW MOVIE ROLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:45 pm

Oscar-winning actress KATE WINSLET has defended the controversial sex scenes in her new movie THE READER.
The British star plays the role of a former Nazi concentration camp guard, who embarks on a passionate affair with a younger man unaware of her shady past.
The steamy scenes featured in the film have attracted criticism with some believing it trivialises the true horror of the Holocaust.
But Winslet is adamant they were essential to the story.
She tells the New York Daily News, "There is a lot of nudity in the beginning. But it’s 100 per cent justified. Also, the relationship is not about sex. It’s about how this young man reads her beautiful stories and poetry."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:42 pm

Local London residents have started up a petition to curtail filming on GUY RITCHIE’s new movie SHERLOCK HOLMES after the filmmaker ordered them to move their cars so he could shoot scenes.
Residents of St. John’s Street in Finsbury, North London were furious when they were made to shift vehicles out of nearby lots so Ritchie could film scenes with stars Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law this week (begs01Dec08).
But now they have responded by drumming up a petition urging the city council to reduce Ritchie’s shooting period from 13 to nine days.
Val Martin, who is leading the protest, says: "When they filmed V for Vendetta in Rawstorne Street they gave everyone £50 a day compensation.
"I told the film office that for every day they film, they should give us £50. They said they would give some money to charity instead but I said, ‘No, charity starts at home, especially during the recession’!"

  • CUTHBERT’S EX APOLOGISES FOR ‘INAPPROPRIATE’ REMARK

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:39 pm

Shamed ice hockey star SEAN AVERY has apologised to his teammates and actress ELISHA CUTHBERT for apparently making an offensive comment about his former flame.
Avery was suspended from the NHL indefinitely after making a derogatory sexual reference to former 24 star Cuthbert before a Tuesday night (02Dec08) game in Calgary, Canada, where Cuthbert’s new man Dion Phaneuf now plays ice hockey.
In an attempt to verbally attack Phaneuf during a pre-game interview, Dallas Stars ace Avery said, "I just want to comment on how it’s become, like, a common thing in the NHL for guys to fall in love with my sloppy seconds. I don’t know what that’s about." But in a new statement released to People.com on Wednesday (03Dec08), the athlete has expressed remorse for his comments, acknowledging how "hurtful" they were.
Avery says, "I caused unnecessary embarrassment to my peers as well as people I have been close with in the past.
"As many of you know, I like to mix it up on and off the ice from time to time, but understand that this time I took it too far.
"I should not have made those comments and I recognise that they were inappropriate. It was a bad attempt to build excitement for the game, but I am now acutely aware of how hurtful my actions were."
