KANYE WEST has stormed back to the top of the U.S. album chart, beating GUNS N’ ROSES to number one.
West’s 808s & Heartbreak becomes the rapper’s third chart-topping album after selling 450,000 copies in its first week on release.
And Guns N’ Roses didn’t even make the new number two spot with their comeback album Chinese Democracy - that spot is filled by country singer Taylor Swift’s Fearless, which jumps up the countdown from four to two.
Chinese Democracy debuts at three with 261,000 sales.
Beyonce’s I Am … Sasha Fierce drops from the top spot to four and Ludacris rounds out the top five with his new release Theater of The Mind.
Also debuting high is The Killers’ Day & Age, which enters the new chart at six.

CELINE DION was forced to halt her Los Angeles concert at the Staples Center for 30 minutes on Tuesday night (02Dec08) due to a technical glitch.
The apologetic singer told the sold out audience she needed to let technicians attend to some issues 45 minutes into her show, before dashing off the stage.
Crew members then appeared with ladders and equipment and attempted to fix part of the stage, which was being used for screening video images.
The concert was Dion’s second show back after she was forced to postpone a string of concerts in November (08) because of illness.
Dion re-appeared after the technical break in the show and thanked fans for staying.
One audience member says, "She was the ultimate professional, although I don’t think anyone noticed there was a problem in the first place. She put on a great show and she seemed to be fit and well." Joining fans at the Staples Center for the show were Dion’s mother and son Rene Charles Angelil.

BRITNEY SPEARS’ cousin ALLI SIMS has spoken for the first time about her ousting as the pop star’s assistant, insisting her former boss isn’t ready for a comeback.
Sims was one of the people dismissed by Spears’ father Jamie when he took control of the singer’s personal and professional affairs in February (08), and she’s still sore about being cast aside.
Speaking for the first time since she was replaced, Sims tells American magazine In Touch she was used as "a scapegoat" as Spears’ family took control of the troubled star’s life, following a double mental health scare.
And Sims, who worked for Spears throughout 2007 and into 2008 - as the singer struggled with personal problems, including a divorce and child custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline, is convinced her cousin isn’t ready to be back on world stages, performing live.
She says, "This isn’t any old job. How can they say Britney is sick and then shove her out on the road, with all that pressure?” Sore Sims feels for her relative, but she’s even more concerned about rebuilding her own reputation after it was ruined by the Spears family.
She adds, "I have been accused of so many things I didn’t do. My reputation has been dragged through the mud.”

KIRSTEN DUNST is back on the dating scene after breaking up with ’secret’ boyfriend JUSTIN LONG - the SPIDER-MAN star is reportedly romancing filmmaker JACOB SOBOROFF.
The 26-year-old actress is working with Soboroff on a documentary about voting, and the two have become more than close friends, according to U.S.
reports.

EVAN RACHEL WOOD turned to her estranged dad following her split from boyfriend MARILYN MANSON - and ended a long rift dating back to her childhood.
The 21-year-old actress flew back to her childhood home in North Carolina to spend the recent Thanksgiving holiday (27Nov08) with her father Ira.
And the pair got on so well, Wood plans to return for Christmas.

BRAD PITT has poked fun at pal GEORGE CLOONEY’s sexuality in an effort to get the movie star to make a first-time appearance on U.S. talk show ELLEN.
Pitt made his debut on comedienne Ellen De Generes’ show on Wednesday (03Dec08) via satellite from New Orleans, Louisiana, and gave the host tips on to how to snare an interview with Clooney, whose production office is right next door to her studio.
De Generes has made a joke out of trying to get a Clooney chat in recent weeks, sending Kate Hudson and Victoria’s Secret models over to her neighbour’s office in a bid to entice him onto her show, but Clooney has never been in when she and her famous friends come calling.
And his Ocean’s Eleven co-star Pitt insisted Ellen has got it all wrong - and she should be sending over naked men instead.
He joked, "Get a bunch of Chippendales… (and) he’s yours.

HEART star ANN WILSON is leading a U.S. poll to find the best female rock singer of all time.
Parade.com has been inundated with voting fans since the poll went live last week (28Nov08) - and more than half the 13,500 rockers who have participated picked the Alone singer ahead of stars like Tina Turner, Sheryl Crow and Stevie Nicks.
Wilson, who has received 55 per cent of the vote, tells the website she owes her singing success to pre-show preparation: "I warm up before each show by singing along with a Lucinda Williams or Emmylou Harris CD. A Swedish hip-hop star has been charged with murder after killing a Los Angeles jazz pianist with his car.
David Moses Jassy is accused of running John Osnes over following a road rage incident in November (08).
Osnes, 55, died from "blunt trauma" after he was hit by Jassy’s vehicle on a Hollywood crosswalk.
Jassy was in court on Wednesday (03Dec08), facing charges of murder, assault, battery and leaving the scene of an accident.
Police claim Osnes, a pedestrian rights activist, confronted Jassy over a traffic violation and the hip-hop producer got out of his SUV and punched and kicked the victim. He then drove over Osnes, as he left the scene.

The ice hockey star ex of and actress ELISHA CUTHBERT has been cut from America’s National Hockey League for speaking ill of his former flame.
League officials were appalled when Dallas Stars player Sean Avery made a derogatory sexual reference to his ex-girlfriend before a Tuesday night (02Dec08) game in Calgary, Canada, where Cuthbert’s new man Dion Phaneuf now plays his ice hockey.
In an attempt to verbally attack Phaneuf during a pre-game interview, tough guy Avery said, "I just want to comment on how it’s become, like, a common thing in the NHL for guys to fall in love with my sloppy seconds. I don’t know what that’s about." As a result, Avery has been suspended from the NHL indefinitely.

KEVIN FEDERLINE has stayed single and dateless since his divorce from BRITNEY SPEARS, so he could put the welfare of their two sons first.
Spears has dated and been linked with a string of suitors since the marriage ended in 2006.
But Federline - who has custody of Sean Preston, three, and Jayden James, two - has rejected any romantic advances, for the happiness and welfare of the tots.

MADONNA has postponed the first of four shows in Argentina - just one week after kicking off the Latin American leg of her world tour.
The pop star was scheduled to perform in the country’s capital, Buenos Aires on Wednesday (03Dec08) for her Sticky & Sweet tour, but pulled the plug on the opening concert at the request of River Plate Stadium’s production team, Time 4 Fun.
Reports from local news media suggest sound equipment hasn’t arrived due to flight delays, and predict the concert will be rescheduled for Monday (08Dec08).
The star’s scheduled performances on Thursday (04Dec08), Saturday (06Dec08) and Sunday (07Dec08) have not been affected.
Madonna launched the Latin American leg of her tour last week in Mexico City (begs24Nov08) and is due to perform in Chile and Brazil following the Argentina dates.
But the setback has not slowed her down - the pop singer was hosted by Argentine President Cristina Kirchner on Tuesday (02Dec08), where she met with former presidential candidate and Colombian hostage, Ingrid Betancourt.
The South American tour is intended to highlight the plight of hostages still in the hands of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) - the group that held Betancourt in captivity for six years.

Singer PAULA ABDUL is selling her Los Angeles home, less than a month after a fan committed suicide outside her front gates.

Pop star JESSICA SIMPSON is heading back to school - and she wants to study religion.
The 28-year-old Texan left high school aged 16 to tour the Christian music circuit before she became a pop singer in the 1990s.
Simpson later earned her diploma by taking the General Educational Development (GED), and admits she’s been inspired to head back to class - by TV documentaries.
She tells America’s Marie Claire magazine, "I’ve been contemplating taking a college course in religion. I love religion. I remember whenever the book The Da Vinci Code came out, the Discovery Channel did this three-night piece on it that I TiVoed (recorded) and then watched eight times."

TWILIGHT star KRISTEN STEWART has been tapped to play rock icon JOAN JETT in a forthcoming biopic about the 1970s star.
The 18-year-old actress will take on the role in new film The Runaways, depicting the all-girl band’s rise and fall from the limelight.
Jett, now 50, will serve as executive producer on the project.
Filming is scheduled to begin next year (09).
