ROCK UPSET ABOUT TROOPS PERFORMANCE SNUB

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:33 pm

KID ROCK has been denied the opportunity to complete his court-ordered community service by performing for U.S. troops stationed in Iraq.
The All Summer Long hitmaker, real name Robert Ritchie, was sentenced to 80 hours community service following a brawl at a Waffle House restaurant in Georgia last year (07), and he has asked if he can do his time by visiting troops stationed abroad this holiday season.
But Dekalb County judge Alvin T. Wong has decided the free concerts and meet and greets aren’t enough.
He says, "Giving him credit for something he would otherwise love to do in front of a camera completely defeats the punitive purpose of performing community service." And the decision has infuriated Rock, who addressed the matter in a recent blog message.
The angry rocker writes, "Apparently he thinks it’s more important that I do something else rather than sing, shake hands, take pictures and spend time with the men and women who put themselves in harm’s way to protect the very freedoms he and all of us live by. I really take it as a slap in the face." Rock, who has become a regular visitor to U.S. troops stationed abroad during the holidays, was fined $1,000 (GBP666) and sentenced to probation after pleading no contest in a battery lawsuit, following the Waffle House fight.
The rock star and five members of his entourage were arrested and charged with misdemeanour battery after the October (07) brawl in Duluth, Georgia.

JENNIFER HUDSON’s former brother-in-law has officially been charged with the murders of the singer/actress’ mother, brother and nephew.
William Balfour, who was married to the Oscar winner’s sister, Julia, has been charged with three counts of first degree murder and one count of home invasion.
Balfour and his family maintain he had nothing to do with the October (08) slayings, even though Illinois police reportedly linked him to the gun which killed Hudson’s family members.
The accused has been in custody in Stateville Correctional Center on a violation of parole since the killings.
Balfour’s lawyer Joshua Kutnick insists his client is innocent. He tells People.com, "The delay between the crimes and his actual arrest show weaknesses in the case. This case is not a strong case against William. He is a convenient suspect."

CREED TO REFORM FOR 2009 DATES?

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:24 pm

Rockers CREED are reportedly in negotiations for a major reunion tour just days after guitarist MARK TREMONTI insisted there were no plans to reform the MY SACRIFICE band.
Rumours about a reunion were sparked by reports that Myles Kennedy, the singer of Creed offshoot Alter Bridge, was rehearsing to replace Robert Plant in a top secret 2009 Led Zeppelin tour.
But Tremonti insists any Led Zeppelin venture, including Kennedy, would not end Alter Bridge, the band he formed after the Creed split.
And he recently announced that there would be no Creed reunion, stating, "We’ve really stressed the point that Creed is never gonna happen again, and Alter Bridge is our band, and this is the band that takes 100 per cent of our time." But rumours persist and now Billboard.com claims the former Creed bandmates are officially working on a 2009 reunion tour.
Sources claim "significant dollars" have been offered to Tremonti and singer Scott Staap to reform.
An insider tells the website, "There have been some talks, but it would be premature to comment on them at this time." Creed split in 2004. Staap launched an unsuccessful solo career and his three bandmates formed Alter Bridge with Kennedy.

But Radcliffe insists he’ll always be thankful for his magical role in the blockbuster franchise.

DION ‘HAPPY’ OBAMA WILL BE PRESIDENT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:42 pm

CELINE DION is glad BARACK OBAMA will be the next U.S. President - despite providing the campaign song for his rival HILLARY CLINTON.
The My Heart Will Go On hitmaker’s ballad You and I was used as the official track for Clinton’s failed campaign to become the Democratic candidate for presidency this year (08).
But the Canadian-born singer insists she "wasn’t bothered" that Clinton failed to win the race to the White House - because she believes Obama was the right choice to take over from George Bush.
She says, "I don’t get too involved in politics. But I’m happy that Obama will be the President. I think he’s extremely smart and the kind of leader that inspires people and gives people hope for better things in the world.
"Right now, it seems that this is very much needed in our lives. I wasn’t bothered that a woman didn’t get into the White House. The most important thing is that the right person is there. I think Obama is the right choice."

PITT CALLS FOR PAPARAZZI LAW

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:42 pm

BRAD PITT has urged the U.S. government to pass a law protecting celebrities and their families against the paparazzi because he’s tired of photographers sneaking around to photograph his six kids.
The actor and partner Angelina Jolie are tailed by celebrity photographers at home and on the red carpet - but Pitt insists their antics have gone too far.
In an interview on U.S. chat show Today, he says, "Let me be very blunt: I hate them. I hate these people. I don’t understand why they do that for a living.
"We’ve got to make a distinction between these people who photograph celebrities at events and people who climb over your walls or wear camouflage and call out your kids names as you’re trying to take them to school to see if they’ll look that way.
"I have no respect for these people. I do not like them. I don’t understand how they can live their lives that way. There should be laws against it. They should not be able to follow kids like this, but there’s not right now so that’s the way it is." Pitt and Jolie share three adopted children - Maddox, seven, Pax, four, and Zahara, three. They’re also parents to two-year-old biological daughter Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne.
