DUNST WINS RESTRAINING ORDER AGAINST INTRUDER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:30 pm

Actress KIRSTEN DUNST has been granted a restraining order against an intruder who was found on her estate last month (19Nov08).
Dunst wasn’t at home when the trespasser, Christopher Smith, was apprehended and escorted off the property.
The star maintains Smith has trespassed on her land before.
In court documents Dunst states, "Mr. Smith has repeatedly shown up uninvited at my place of residence in Los Angeles, going so far as to ignore police warnings, bypass my personal security measures, trespass on my property, and attempt to gain entry into my home.
"Mr. Smith is apparently mentally ill, and, although he has never met me, believes that he has some sort of spiritual connection with me." She adds, "Mr. Smith’s sudden, aggressive and harassing efforts to contact me are extremely frightening. I fear not only for my own personal safety, but also for the safety and well being of my housemate and assistant." Los Angeles police have confirmed they did apprehend an intruder at Dunst’s home.
In his statement to police, Smith revealed he’s in love with the star, adding, "I connected with Kirsten spiritually, I felt like I connected with her and she connected with me. Now I don’t know if she did, I guess you have to ask her if she connected." In court papers, Dunst claims Smith was found on her property after her assistant informed him that the actress was not home via the intercom at the front gate.
He later knocked on her front door and attempted to gain access to the actress’ home.
Dunst claimed the intrusion was the fourth in two days.

KERR WANTED CAREER WITH MORE ‘SUBSTANCE’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:27 pm

Australian model MIRANDA KERR was desperate to turn the page on her career before penning her new self-help book - because she wanted a job with more "substance".
The Victoria’s Secret stunner - who is currently dating Orlando Bloom shrugged off modelling ventures until her father, John, convinced her to step out onto the catwalk.
But Kerr, 25, insists she’s found her calling as an author after writing a self-help book for young girls, called Treasure Yourself.
She tells Page Six magazine, "I was so reluctant to do (modelling) at first.
I was like, ‘Eh, models, they’re like this or like that’, which was totally wrong on my behalf. But I just felt like I wanted to do something with a bit more substance.
"(My father) said, ‘Look, Miranda, obviously being a model you have a face, and with that face you have a voice, and with that voice you can make a difference’. And that’s what I’m trying to do now. I’m writing a book for young women about self-image, and it’s something I’m very passionate about." The book is scheduled to hit shelves next year (09).

CHILDHOOD KNIFE ATTACK LEFT FUNNY FEY WITH A SCARRED FACE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:27 pm

U.S. comedienne TINA FEY’s famous facial scar was the result of a childhood knife attack, according to her husband.
The Emmy Award-winning 30 Rock and Mean Girls writer/star rarely talks about the incident, but her husband, Jeff Richmond, reveals all in a new Vanity Fair interview.
He tells the publication, "She just thought somebody marked her with a pen." Richmond explains his wife was five at the time, adding he thinks the scar by her left cheek is one of the most beautiful things about his wife: "That scar was fascinating to me. This is somebody who, no matter what it was, has gone through something. And I think it really informs the way she thinks about her life." Asked to comment further on the knife attack, Fey tells the publication, "It’s impossible to talk about it without somehow seemingly exploiting it and glorifying it."

MORE WOES FOR GUNS N’ ROSES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:24 pm

GUNS N’ ROSES’ big comeback album hasn’t been the record-breaker many experts expected it to be - early estimates suggest CHINESE DEMOCRACY will miss out on the top of the U.S. charts by 200,000 copies.
The Killers beat Axl Rose’s act to the top of the British charts on Sunday (30Nov08) and so far Chinese Democracy has only topped album countdowns in Brazil in Finland.
The release has landed at two in the U.K. and New Zealand, and it has debuted at three in Australia, Norway and Japan, among other major territories.
In Spain, it failed to make the top 10.
And, according to early sales figures, the album will score a 300,000 sale-week in America - up to 200,000 short of Kanye West’s 808s & Heartbreak, which is expected to hit the top of the U.S. charts on Wednesday (03Dec08).

KENNEDY’S LED ZEPPELIN RUMOURS ALL ‘HUSH-HUSH’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:21 pm

ALTER BRIDGE star MYLES KENNEDY appears to have taken a step closer to fronting LED ZEPPELIN on tour after bandmate MARK TREMONTI confessed he has to be "hush-hush" about the rumours in an online interview.
The singer refused to chat about the possibility of replacing Robert Plant onstage during the chat, but Tremonti couldn’t keep quiet about the big news.
He said, "We all have to be real hush-hush about it. We hear the rumours, we know what everybody’s saying, but as far as what’s really happening… I don’t really know. Nobody does." But former Creed star Tremonti insisted the potential Led Zeppelin tour won’t interfere with Alter Bridge’s 2009 plans - and it will not lead to a reunion of his former band.
He added, "No matter what happens next year, it’ll be for the ultimate benefit of Alter Bridge… Who knows what can happen next year? 2009 could be one of the craziest years ever for us.
"(But) we’ve really stressed the point that Creed is never gonna happen again, and Alter Bridge is our band, and this is the band that takes 100 per cent of our time." Plant has made it clear he wants no part of a potential Led Zeppelin reunion tour in 2009, but the fact that guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist John Paul Jones and drummer Jason Bonham have been jamming with other singers since the summer (08) have left fans convinced the supergroup is heading out on the road.

JIM MORRISON’S DAD DEAD

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:21 pm

Late THE DOORS star JIM MORRISON’s father has died, aged 89.
Rear Admiral George Morrison died of natural causes on 17 November (08).
A veteran of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, Morrison was largely disowned by his rock star son, who insisted his parents were dead in early interviews.
The feeling was mutual - the seaman rarely discussed his son as he rose up the ranks.
In 1990, Morrison visited his son’s grave in Paris, France and had a plaque installed.
Shortly after the Morrisons moved to Coronado, California in 2002, the admiral’s wife died, and reports suggest he has been in declining health ever since.
Rear Admiral Morrison’s private memorial service was held last Wednesday (26Nov08) at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, California.

WOOD: ‘THE FACES REUNION IS GOING WELL’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:21 pm

ROLLING STONES rocker RON WOOD has confirmed plans for a reunion of his 70s supergroup THE FACES are going very well after a week of top secret rehearsals.
Wood, Rod Stewart, Kenney Jones and Ian McLagan spent much of last week (ends28Nov08) working through classic tunes with Stewart’s touring bass player Conrad Korsch, replacing the late Ronnie Lane in the line-up, at an undisclosed location.
And though a tour schedule has not been confirmed, Wood is confident the rehearsals will lead to bigger things.
He tells Rolling Stone magazine, "We’re ready to go. It’s like no time has passed by.” Wood admits the most difficult thing about the reunion is deciding which bass player to add to the band for a planned 2009 tour: "There’s a lot of guest bass players that want to do it, including (Red Hot Chili Peppers star) Flea." And now, the original Faces have tentatively agreed to tour in 2009.
Wood adds, "We just have to sort out when and where and drop all of the management egos and just do what we can… It’s just a matter of getting everyone’s availability sometime next year.” In November (08), eager Stewart revealed the group will hit the road next summer (09), stating, " It will be next summer and I am looking forward to it.
It’ll be great."

WEST DESTROYS MIXING DESK WITH HEAVY BASS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:36 pm

Rap superstar KANYE WEST accidentally "blew up" a piece of studio equipment during a special album playback with British rockers KEANE - because the bass was too loud.
The Stronger hitmaker treated the band to an early preview of his new LP 808s and Heartbreak, but the impromptu listening session ended in disaster when a studio mixing desk was destroyed.
Keane star Tim Rice-Oxley writes on his blog, "What a strange week in the life of Keane. Exactly a week ago I was sitting on the Eurostar in a half-sleep, having just played the last gig of our European tour in Paris, and then I spent the entire night in the studio with Kanye West. He played us the whole of his new album, which sounded truly awesome - the bass was so fat that eventually the mixing desk blew up."

GALLAGHER HITS OUT AT COLDPLAY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:33 pm

OASIS star LIAM GALLAGHER has slammed fellow British rockers COLDPLAY insisting he doesn’t "give a s**t" about them.
The Yellow hitmakers have become one of the most popular bands in the world in recent years, and have gained a strong following in the U.S., where Oasis have struggled for similar acclaim.
But Gallagher is still adamant his group is far superior, and is confused as to why Oasis are not bigger in America - although he believes it may have something to do with the band’s gloomy demeanour.
He tells Loaded magazine, "I don’t give a s**t about Coldplay. We are the coolest band and we are the best f**king band. We are the most important band.
We may not be the biggest band in America but who would want that? "We aren’t as big as we could be in America because of our attitudes. We’re miserable. The main reason is they obviously don’t like us. But a lot of people over there do like us. We sold out Madison Square Garden in a minute and we tour there for a long time.
"But they don’t buy our records. But America is not the be all and end all for Oasis. America is a country in a f**king very big world, so if they don’t like us, somewhere else will." (AV/WNWCCD/ZN&MT) WENN - FIFTH - HOLLYWOOD, SHOWBIZ & PEOPLE NEWS - 01 DECEMBER 2008

BOSWORTH ‘STRONGER’ AFTER EARLY FAME

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:33 pm

KATE BOSWORTH struggled to handle her "brutal" Hollywood success as a youngster - but is adamant the experience helped her to become a better person.
The actress landed her first big role at the age of 13 when she starred alongside Scarlett Johansson in 1998 film The Horse Whisperer, before really gaining the public’s attention at 19 in hit surfer movie Blue Crush.
Bosworth has since gone on to star in a string of Hollywood films, including the coveted role of Lois Lane in blockbuster movie Superman Returns.
And she believes her experience of fame as a child, at a time when Hollywood had become fascinated with young movie stars, helped to make her "stronger".
She says, "The obsession with the young Hollywood group happened when I was young and in Hollywood. It sort of coincided all at the same time.
"At the time, when you’re being dissected and judged it’s pretty brutal, but in hindsight it’s great and - it sounds cliched - you do come out the other side better and stronger."
