SHEEN COMPLETED FROST FILM AS WEREWOLF

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:33 pm

British actor MICHAEL SHEEN completed his work on tense new drama FROST/NIXON dressed as a werewolf.
The Queen star, who portrays interviewer David Frost in the new Ron Howard film, was shooting Underworld 3 in New Zealand when the director asked him to add a little extra dialogue.
He recalls, "Instead of going into a studio to do the one line, which was, ‘and next week Yvonne Gooligan,’ I did it in my trailer for Underworld.
"So there I am, dressed as a werewolf with an arrow through my arm, covered in blood, and I go right into David Frost mode… I got someone to take a photograph of me doing it as Lucian in Underworld and I sent it to Ron."

WINSTONE THREATENS TO LEAVE U.K.

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:33 pm

Movie hardman RAY WINSTONE wants to leave his native Britain and start a new life abroad - because the U.K. justice system is too lenient on criminals.
The Sexy Beast star claims he’s always considered England the greatest country in the world - but blames the government under Labour Party leader Gordon Brown for not doing enough to tackle crime and punish offenders.
And he feels so strongly about it, he’s planning to move somewhere like the U.S., Italy or France.
He says, "I wouldn’t mind if we actually see something being done with all the money they take off in taxes. But I don’t see more police … what I see is no one on the streets and then a legal system that doesn’t support the coppers when things finally get to court. There are criminals getting off every day in this country.
"(England)’s just not that great any more, is it? Let’s be honest. This country isn’t going to the dogs. It’s gone to the dogs. We’re a mess.
"And do I really want to live in this mess any more? I feel bad saying it but I’m just not sure."

FOX AND HARRIS HEADING FOR DIVORCE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:30 pm

British actress EMILIA FOX is set to divorce her husband of three years, JARED HARRIS, according to reports.
Fox met Harris - the actor son of late Irish film star Richard Harris - in 2003 after working together in West End show Les Liaisons Dangereuses. They wed two years later (05).
But the couple’s marriage has been under scrutiny in recent months after Fox was pictured without her wedding ring - and now The Pianist star has allegedly moved her belongings out of the marital home in Los Angeles.
A close pal tells Britain’s The Mail on Sunday, "They are not suited to each other.
"She is very successful and incredibly nice, whereas Jared is darker and more troubled. He is sensitive, a bit difficult and not a great looker (handsome), although that didn’t seem to bother Emilia at first." A spokeswoman for the couple has refused to comment on the reports.

ARMANI’S BID FOR THE BERKELEY REBUFFED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:30 pm

Fashion mogul GIORGIO ARMANI has had his multi-million dollar offer to purchase top London hotel The Berkeley rejected.
The Italian designer, 74, is reported to have bid to take over the five-star Mayfair establishment in a series of talks with multi-millionaire owner Derek Quinlan.
The offer was said to be part of Armani’s plans to launch a new line of resort hotels.
But The Berkeley boss - who also owns other top London venues The Connaught and Claridge’s, and is the former head of The Savoy Hotel - refused to sell.
A source says, "No one knows Armani has been looking at moving into hotels but he is set on owning one in London. He was prepared to part with a lot of cash for The Berkeley but Quinlan told him he would have to buy all three hotels, which would effectively mean the end of the former Savoy Group." The exact offer made by Armani is unknown, although he is alleged to have put aside a $3.8 billion (£2.5 billion) budget for the hotel.
The first Armani Hotels & Resorts venture is set to open in Dubai and will feature 160 guest rooms and suites, as well as restaurants and a spa.
The hotels will be exclusively designed by Armani, who recently revamped actor Adrien Brody’s castle estate in New York.

DICAPRIO MOVING OUT OF PAPARAZZI HOTSPOT MALIBU

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:30 pm

LEONARDO DiCAPRIO is following through on his vow to boycott the paparazzi he’s put his Malibu, California mansion up for sale.
The Titanic star recently lashed out at the snappers who follow his every move, branding them "disrespectful and dangerous".
He said, "The mere fact that these - I’ll use the word piles - are earning money from exploiting my image is the only reason I hide myself or am not a photo-friendly person. I do not like the way they conduct themselves. I think they’re disrespectful and dangerous. The reason I don’t pose or smile or that I seem mad is that I don’t want them to make a living off my private life." And he appears to be serious about stepping out of the spotlight by making plans to move out of the area.
His two bedroom, two bathroom property, which also boasts a guest house and four-car garage, is on the market for just under $9 million (£5.8 million).
And that’s not all - the home comes with an added perk of underground tunnels leading to and from Hollywood’s hottest nightspots, reports TMZ.com.

GELDOF MEETS SON-IN-LAW FOUR MONTHS AFTER DAUGHTER’S WEDDING

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:27 pm

BOB GELDOF has finally met his new son-in-law MAX DRUMMEY - four months after his wildchild daughter PEACHES wed the musician in Las Vegas.
The teenage socialite, 19, exchanged vows with Drummey in a surprise ceremony in August (08).
Geldof was alleged to be furious at his daughter for marrying a man he’d never met, but Peaches has now made amends by introducing her dad to her husband during a recent trip to New York, where the rocker-turned-philanthropist was celebrating his 54th birthday.
Peaches says, "Max and I were flying back from London on my dad’s birthday.
He was having dinner in New York with Bono and some other friends, so me and Max joined them. They got on well." And the former Boomtown Rats star is so impressed with Drummey, he’s invited the budding rocker to join his family for Christmas in London.
Peaches adds, "My family want to have a proper Christmas this year. I want to come back to London for it but we are just waiting to see if Max can fit it into his schedule. He has been on tour promoting his new record and he has lots of gigs lined up." The couple’s union was recently rocked by reports claiming they are to divorce, but Peaches and Drummey have put on a show of unity to prove critics wrong.
Peaches is offended by allegations she married only to raise her profile, insisting she loves being Mrs. Drummey, despite only dating him for four months before tying the knot: "It hurts when people said I wed for attention. Why would I do that? "I am a wife and I love it. Every couple argues, but people spin things out of proportion and say we are divorcing after one argument. I wish people would stop putting their nose into my relationships… I’m married and I am making it work and everyone slagging me off is unnecessary."

LIVE EARTH CONCERT IN MUMBAI CANCELLED AFTER ATTACKS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:27 pm

The Live Earth India concert due to feature BON JOVI, PINK FLOYD star ROGER WATERS and BLACK EYED PEAS rapper will.i.am has been cancelled in the wake of the recent terror attacks in Mumbai.
The charity concert, which was planned to raise awareness of climate change, was scheduled to take place on 7 December (08).
But organisers, including former U.S. vice-president Al Gore, have confirmed the event will not go ahead, after nearly 200 people were killed and hundreds injured in a series of attacks that began on Wednesday (26Nov08).
A statement released on Saturday (29Nov08) reads: "Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are saddened to announce that Live Earth India has been called off." The organisers add: "Together, we will continue to work for solutions to the climate crisis for the good of the people of India and around the world.
"But for now, our thoughts and our prayers are with the victims of this terrible attack, with the bereaved, with the people of Mumbai and with everyone across India."

HOLLYWOOD BOSSES PLAN FILM OF MOORE’S LIFE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:39 pm

Movie legend SIR ROGER MOORE’s memoirs are set to be turned into a Hollywood biopic - with JOHNNY DEPP slated to play the part of the JAMES BOND actor.
Two top U.S. production companies are rumoured to be battling for the screen rights to the book - My Word Is My Bond - which was released in October (08).
The autobiography details Moore’s exploits with legendary Tinseltown co-stars including Elizabeth Taylor, Lana Turner, and David Niven in the 1950s and ’60s.
The thrilling tales have caught the imagination of movie bosses - with two leading Hollywood studios said to be in talks with Moore’s literary agents to secure the rights to the book.
And a source close to Moore has confirmed that producers are keen to sign up an A-list star to play Moore - with Johnny Depp hotly tipped to take the role.
The source tells WENN, "The two production companies’ interest in Sir Roger was heightened after they read the tales of his Hollywood exploits.
"They are keen to centre on that era ahead of his 007 days. They believe filmgoers will lap this one up and it could be a huge hit.
"The whole project is shrouded in secrecy but Sir Roger has been telling friends, with a knowingly raised eyebrow, that he’s a great admirer of Johnny Depp."

PITT AND FINCHER ‘LIKE BROTHERS’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:39 pm

BRAD PITT is filmmaker DAVID FINCHER’s muse - because the pair is so easygoing, according to the actor’s THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON co-star TARAJI HENSON.
The two stars have worked together on numerous films in their 15 year friendship, including 1995’s Se7en and 1999’s Fight Club.
The actress witnessed Pitt’s close friendship with director Fincher during filming for the forthcoming drama - and she admits she and other castmembers, including Cate Blanchett, often felt a little left out because they have their own way of communication.
She tells USA Today newspaper, "(Pitt)’s David’s muse, partly because he’s so easygoing. He’ll crack a joke, or they’ll start ripping (insulting) on each other, and everything is relaxed again.
"Sometimes you have to interrupt them just to get them to speak English.
They’re like brothers - opposite in the way they act, but they understand each other the way families do."

FOGLE FREE OF FLESH-EATING DISEASE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:39 pm

British TV presenter BEN FOGLE is on the road to recovery after beating a potentially fatal flesh-eating disease contracted while filming in Peru.
The 34-year-old developed a large, gaping hole in his right arm following his return from shooting BBC adventure programme Extreme Dreams in the Peruvian jungle in October (08).
He was treated for the wound, believed to have been caused by the often life-threatening condition leishmaniasis, at London’s Hospital of Tropical Diseases.
Fogle was put on a high-strength course of antibiotics and has now overcome the illness.
He says, "It is an enormous relief. It has been a very difficult time, not only because of the worry of the illness, but also the debilitating effects of the treatment. The effects of the treatment have caused my deteriorating health, including vomiting, muscle seizures and mild pneumonia, but now that the treatment has stopped, the effects will subside - I hope quite quickly.
"I have to wait and see, but my aim now is to regain my fitness as quickly as is humanly possible with the guidance of the doctors. It has been a very unpleasant experience and my grateful thanks go to the professionals and nurses at the School of Tropical Diseases and the University College Hospital for their brilliant care." Fogle shot to fame in 2000 after taking part in BBC reality show Castaway and has since forged a successful career as a TV presenter.

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:36 pm

Fashion mogul TOMMY HILFIGER has taken his $50 million (£32.6 million) New York apartment off the market - after it failed to attract a buyer during the three months it was on sale.
Hilfiger’s duplex condominium at the posh Plaza Hotel in Manhattan was listed in September (08) - for an estimated $21 million (£13.7 million) more than he paid for it.
But, according to the New York Post, he is now reconsidering moving into the building and has taken down its hefty price tag.
The designer has become the latest celebrity to fall victim to the downturn in the property market - Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was also unable to find a new owner for his $13 million (£8.5 million) New York pad.

WINSTONE APPROVES OF DAUGHTER’S NUDE SCENES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:36 pm

British hardman RAY WINSTONE has no problem watching his actress daughter JAIME’s onscreen love scenes - because he’s convinced he has much more offensive roles in his own back catalogue.
The Sexy Beast star has yet to see his daughter’s latest movie Donkey Punch in which she can be seen cavorting naked on screen - but he insists he can’t wait to watch it.
And Winstone is certain he won’t cringe when he sees Jaime’s steamy romp because he has played his own fair share of despicable characters.
He says, "She’s 23. She’s not a kid anymore. It’s her work and of course I want to take an interest in what she does. My daughter has had to grow up watching me and I’ve done some right dodgy ones in my time.
"I’ve been beating up women, doing drugs, having sex and even playing a paedophile."

PETERS HIT WITH NEW SEXUAL HARASSMENT CLAIMS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:33 pm

Hollywood producer JON PETERS is facing more legal woes - he’s been slapped with a sexual harassment lawsuit by male co-worker BRAIN QUINTANA.
The troubled Superman Returns moviemaker co-produced forthcoming sequel Superman: Man of Steel with Quintana.
But Quintana alleges he was subjected to numerous occasions of Peters’ unacceptable behaviour throughout the project, including reportedly being touched inappropriately by the producer.
The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court earlier this week (ends28Nov08), claims there were "multiple instances where he was physically sexually harassed by Peters, including being groped by male individuals at Peters’ behest".
The papers go on to state Peters would "wrestle and rough up (Quintana) in a sexual manner… fondle himself in front of (Quintana)… often place his hand on (Quintana’s) leg in a sexual manner", as well as "touch" his buttocks, reports the New York Post’s PageSix column.
Quintana further accuses Peters of demanding he "drive male individuals onto the set for the purposes of granting sexual favours for members of the cast and crew" and "cover up allegations that… Peters engaged in sexually inappropriate acts in front of children".
The court documents also claim Peters threatened to "break his legs" and fired Quintana when he refused to sign a legal declaration stating Peters had completed his community service sentence from a 2006 conviction for driving under the influence (DUI). He was ordered to complete 40 hours of community work following the incident.
A spokesperson for Peters had yet to return comment on the reports as WENN went to press.
Quintana’s lawsuit is the latest of Peters’ legal issues - he is also facing two sexual harassment suits filed by former female employees, and is reportedly in trouble with the law for violating his parole in relation to the DUI arrest.
Peters is scheduled to return to court on 16 January (09) to address his alleged parole violations - including failure to complete an alcohol education program, not reporting to his probation officer, and failure to complete his community service.
