DOMINGO SINGS LATE POPE JOHN PAUL’S POEMS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:27 pm

Legendary tenor PLACIDO DOMINGO has teamed up with JOSH GROBAN, VANESSA WILLIAMS and ANDREA BOCELLI to record a new album of songs based on poems written by the late POPE JOHN PAUL II.
The pontiff’s original Polish poems, written before his election in 1978, have been translated into English, Spanish and Italian and put to music by various composers for Domingo’s new LP, Infinite Love.
And Domingo, who met the religious leader several times before his death, was so moved by the pope’s spirit while in the studio, he hopes the Catholic Church appoints him to sainthood.
Unveiling his CD at a news conference at the Vatican on Friday (28Nov08), the opera star said: "I am sure he will be a saint soon."
