HOLLYWOOD BOSSES PLAN FILM OF MOORE’S LIFE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:39 pm

Movie legend SIR ROGER MOORE’s memoirs are set to be turned into a Hollywood biopic - with JOHNNY DEPP slated to play the part of the JAMES BOND actor.
Two top U.S. production companies are rumoured to be battling for the screen rights to the book - My Word Is My Bond - which was released in October (08).
The autobiography details Moore’s exploits with legendary Tinseltown co-stars including Elizabeth Taylor, Lana Turner, and David Niven in the 1950s and ’60s.
The thrilling tales have caught the imagination of movie bosses - with two leading Hollywood studios said to be in talks with Moore’s literary agents to secure the rights to the book.
And a source close to Moore has confirmed that producers are keen to sign up an A-list star to play Moore - with Johnny Depp hotly tipped to take the role.
The source tells WENN, "The two production companies’ interest in Sir Roger was heightened after they read the tales of his Hollywood exploits.
"They are keen to centre on that era ahead of his 007 days. They believe filmgoers will lap this one up and it could be a huge hit.
"The whole project is shrouded in secrecy but Sir Roger has been telling friends, with a knowingly raised eyebrow, that he’s a great admirer of Johnny Depp."

PITT AND FINCHER ‘LIKE BROTHERS’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:39 pm

BRAD PITT is filmmaker DAVID FINCHER’s muse - because the pair is so easygoing, according to the actor’s THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON co-star TARAJI HENSON.
The two stars have worked together on numerous films in their 15 year friendship, including 1995’s Se7en and 1999’s Fight Club.
The actress witnessed Pitt’s close friendship with director Fincher during filming for the forthcoming drama - and she admits she and other castmembers, including Cate Blanchett, often felt a little left out because they have their own way of communication.
She tells USA Today newspaper, "(Pitt)’s David’s muse, partly because he’s so easygoing. He’ll crack a joke, or they’ll start ripping (insulting) on each other, and everything is relaxed again.
"Sometimes you have to interrupt them just to get them to speak English.
They’re like brothers - opposite in the way they act, but they understand each other the way families do."

FOGLE FREE OF FLESH-EATING DISEASE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:39 pm

British TV presenter BEN FOGLE is on the road to recovery after beating a potentially fatal flesh-eating disease contracted while filming in Peru.
The 34-year-old developed a large, gaping hole in his right arm following his return from shooting BBC adventure programme Extreme Dreams in the Peruvian jungle in October (08).
He was treated for the wound, believed to have been caused by the often life-threatening condition leishmaniasis, at London’s Hospital of Tropical Diseases.
Fogle was put on a high-strength course of antibiotics and has now overcome the illness.
He says, "It is an enormous relief. It has been a very difficult time, not only because of the worry of the illness, but also the debilitating effects of the treatment. The effects of the treatment have caused my deteriorating health, including vomiting, muscle seizures and mild pneumonia, but now that the treatment has stopped, the effects will subside - I hope quite quickly.
"I have to wait and see, but my aim now is to regain my fitness as quickly as is humanly possible with the guidance of the doctors. It has been a very unpleasant experience and my grateful thanks go to the professionals and nurses at the School of Tropical Diseases and the University College Hospital for their brilliant care." Fogle shot to fame in 2000 after taking part in BBC reality show Castaway and has since forged a successful career as a TV presenter.

WINSTONE APPROVES OF DAUGHTER’S NUDE SCENES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:36 pm

British hardman RAY WINSTONE has no problem watching his actress daughter JAIME’s onscreen love scenes - because he’s convinced he has much more offensive roles in his own back catalogue.
The Sexy Beast star has yet to see his daughter’s latest movie Donkey Punch in which she can be seen cavorting naked on screen - but he insists he can’t wait to watch it.
And Winstone is certain he won’t cringe when he sees Jaime’s steamy romp because he has played his own fair share of despicable characters.
He says, "She’s 23. She’s not a kid anymore. It’s her work and of course I want to take an interest in what she does. My daughter has had to grow up watching me and I’ve done some right dodgy ones in my time.
"I’ve been beating up women, doing drugs, having sex and even playing a paedophile."

PETERS HIT WITH NEW SEXUAL HARASSMENT CLAIMS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:33 pm

Hollywood producer JON PETERS is facing more legal woes - he’s been slapped with a sexual harassment lawsuit by male co-worker BRAIN QUINTANA.
The troubled Superman Returns moviemaker co-produced forthcoming sequel Superman: Man of Steel with Quintana.
But Quintana alleges he was subjected to numerous occasions of Peters’ unacceptable behaviour throughout the project, including reportedly being touched inappropriately by the producer.
The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court earlier this week (ends28Nov08), claims there were "multiple instances where he was physically sexually harassed by Peters, including being groped by male individuals at Peters’ behest".
The papers go on to state Peters would "wrestle and rough up (Quintana) in a sexual manner… fondle himself in front of (Quintana)… often place his hand on (Quintana’s) leg in a sexual manner", as well as "touch" his buttocks, reports the New York Post’s PageSix column.
Quintana further accuses Peters of demanding he "drive male individuals onto the set for the purposes of granting sexual favours for members of the cast and crew" and "cover up allegations that… Peters engaged in sexually inappropriate acts in front of children".
The court documents also claim Peters threatened to "break his legs" and fired Quintana when he refused to sign a legal declaration stating Peters had completed his community service sentence from a 2006 conviction for driving under the influence (DUI). He was ordered to complete 40 hours of community work following the incident.
A spokesperson for Peters had yet to return comment on the reports as WENN went to press.
Quintana’s lawsuit is the latest of Peters’ legal issues - he is also facing two sexual harassment suits filed by former female employees, and is reportedly in trouble with the law for violating his parole in relation to the DUI arrest.
Peters is scheduled to return to court on 16 January (09) to address his alleged parole violations - including failure to complete an alcohol education program, not reporting to his probation officer, and failure to complete his community service.

DOWNEY JR. KNOCKED ‘OUT COLD’ IN SHERLOCK FIGHT SCENE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:33 pm

Hollywood star ROBERT DOWNEY JR. needed medical attention on the set of new GUY RITCHIE movie SHERLOCK HOLMES - when he was knocked out by a giant wrestler.
The Iron Man actor was filming a fight scene with seven foot (2.1 metre)-tall co-star Robert Maillet when the big man threw a punch that left Downey Jr. "out cold".
A nurse on set attended to the star and gave him six stitches in his mouth.
A source says, "Robert was accidentally caught on the chin by a thundering hook. He went flying and was out cold.
"He didn’t want to go to hospital and kept trying to get up. He’s a trooper." But Downey Jr.’s condition wasn’t the only issue director Ritchie has had to contend with - the movie has reportedly been plagued by various other setbacks.
One incident on Friday (28Nov08) left the cast and crew running for safety after a petrol tanker burst into flames during a delivery to the set, closing down production for two hours, according to Britain’s The Sun newspaper.
And the mishaps have prompted speculation the movie, which also stars Jude Law, is cursed.
The insider adds, "There have been lots of other problems too… The crew have started joking about the curse of Sherlock Holmes."

ROSSI: ‘OASIS AREN’T ROCK ‘N’ ROLL’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:30 pm

STATUS QUO rocker FRANCIS ROSSI has launched a blistering attack on OASIS insisting the WONDERWALL hitmakers are "not rock ‘n’ roll".
The veteran star is particularly annoyed by the Liam Gallagher-fronted band’s lack of movement on stage.
He says, "We’re from a generation of acts that are very physical, we put physicality into it.
"But some of the younger bands don’t want to put that physical commitment in, either because it’s not cool at the moment or whatever.
"What always comes to mind is Oasis. They call themselves a rock band and they stand there looking at the floor. Bored s**tless, they look. I’m not saying they’re a bad band, but that to me isn’t rock n’ roll.
And Rossi admits he had previously been critical of singer Gallagher’s attitude, although he has since changed his mind.
He says, "(I used to think), ‘That fella is still trying to pretend he’s 20 and he’s angry and really annoyed with his brother apparently. And he has got a really grumpy face and he has to stand there with the f**king hump (a bad temper)’.
"Now, I don’t believe that any more. I may have believed it some years ago but not still."

HARRIS ANGERS ABORIGINALS WITH SONG ‘APOLOGY’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:27 pm

Australian singer and TV personality ROLF HARRIS has caused uproar after apologising to the Aboriginal community for racist lyrics in his 1960 song TIE ME KANGAROO DOWN, SPORT - by insulting them again.
The 78-year-old initially released the song Down Under with the words: "Let me Abos go loose, Lew/ Let me Abos go loose/ They’re of no further use, Lew/ So let me Abos go loose".
The term Abos appeared to refer to Australia’s Aboriginals and their servitude in the past.
It caused controversy when it was first released, and Harris was subsequently pressured into changing the lyrics so as not to offend.
He issued an apology for using the term on Friday (28Nov08) - more than 40 years after it was originally released - saying, "It was a mark of the times, done totally innocently with no realisation that you would offend." Harris claimed he had only set out to write a fun song for Aussies "drinking themselves stupid" in London in the ’60s.
But he then went on to incense the Aboriginal people further by apparently blaming them for the poor condition of their communities.
He ranted, "In their original way of life they would wreck the countryside and go walk-about to the next place. The attitude is still there."

EVANS SNUB UPSETS MOVIE BIGGIE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:27 pm

The actor portraying heavyweight rap icon NOTORIOUS B.I.G. in an upcoming biopic flew into a rage when the hip-hop star’s former wife was barred from his trailer during a set visit.
Jamal ‘Gravy’ Woolard chastised an assistant after he heard Faith Evans had paid a visit to the movie set with her son - and hadn’t been allowed to see the man playing her ex.
Evans says, "When Gravy found out, he let that guy have it: ‘Do you know who she is? Y’all better learn to respect. If it wasn’t for her you wouldn’t even be here.’" Evans admits the set visit was tough for her - because she found it weird watching someone who had the look and mannerisms of the rap star she loved: "He (Woolard) spooked me out every time I saw him in costume.
"One day I was walking down the street… and I was walking back to the trailer and somebody just called me across the street: ‘Faith, Faith.’ And I look and there he was standing there looking like Big.
"He (even) had some prosthetic in his mouth to speak with a certain lisp." Notorious B.I.G. was shot dead in Los Angeles in 1997, aged 24. His murder remains unsolved to this day.
