KINGS OF LEON’s upcoming world tour has reportedly been thrown into jeopardy as the band rows over frontman CALEB FOLLOWILL’s drinking.
The rockers are due to hit the road on 1 December (08) for the start of a major tour which will begin in Britain and take in the U.S., Europe and Australia.
But the band, who recently claimed to have quit their rock ‘n roll lifestyle to concentrate on their music, are said to have fallen out over Followill’s alleged refusal to give up booze.
A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "The others have warned Caleb over and over again that they weren’t happy about his drinking but he carried on regardless. The lads have always fought but they usually sort it out the next morning. Things are completely different this time.
"The label is deeply concerned that if they don’t sort out their differences the tour won’t go ahead.” In a recent interview, bassist Jared Followill spoke of his concerns for his brother: "The only time we fight is when Caleb’s drunker than he’s ever been so it’s not really him. He wakes up and he doesn’t remember any of it.”

Lawyers for rockers GUNS N’ ROSES have hit out at bosses of soft drinks giant Dr. Pepper - accusing them of "defrauding" the American public over their planned giveaway with new album CHINESE DEMOCRACY.
Company officials refused to believe the band would release their long awaited LP this year (08), and offered to hand out cans of soda to every U.S.
citizen if the record hit shelves before 2009.
The group released the album earlier this month (Oct08) after a 14 year wait, leaving drinks bosses to find a way to keep their promise.
Dr. Pepper chiefs eventually set up an internet scheme which encouraged people to register at the brand’s website on the day of the LP’s release (23Nov08) to claim a coupon redeemable for a can of pop.
But the huge demand crashed the site’s servers and left many fans without their vouchers. The scheme was extended for another day because of the problems, but lawyers for the band insist it is not good enough.
Alan Gutman, attorney for frontman Axl Rose, has written to Dr Pepper Snapple Group Inc’s president and CEO Larry Young, calling the scheme an "unmitigated disaster which defrauded customers".
Gutman has also demanded that the company extend the offer period even further as well as run full-page apologies in some of America’s most high-profile newspapers.
He adds, "The entire point of your campaign has been to use public interest in Axl Rose and Guns N’ Roses as a lure to increase consumer awareness of Dr Pepper. Dr Pepper was completely unprepared for the traffic to its site."

SEX AND THE CITY star KIM CATTRALL is desperate to start production on the upcoming sequel to this year’s (08) hit movie - because she can’t wait to meet the young hunks her character SAMANTHA JONES will be bedding.
The 52-year-old actress let slip that a follow up to May’s (08) big screen adaptation of the risque show was planned for 2009.
Co-star Sarah Jessica Parker confirmed the project earlier this week (begs24Nov08), telling reporters a script was currently being worked on.
And Cattrall, who plays the show’s maneater, is looking forward to giving young men the casting couch experience.
She tells Britain’s Daily Express newspaper, "I am very much looking forward to the casting of lots of young, attractive men for Samantha.
"Sometimes, through the course of the series, I would ask if I could come in and at least meet them and I hope I do as well with this." But if she isn’t allowed to spy on her possible co-stars - she is happy to leave the decision making in the capable hands of the movie’s boss Michael Patrick King.
She adds, "If that doesn’t happen, I trust Michael Patrick King, our executive producer. He has wonderful taste and hasn’t put a foot wrong yet!"

BRITNEY SPEARS made her first live stage appearance since her disastrous performance at the MTV VMAs last year (07) - and used the opportunity to emulate her pop mentor MADONNA.
The Toxic hitmaker attended Germany’s annual Bambi awards where she received the gong for Best International Pop Star - an annual television and media prize hosted by the Hubert Burda Media Group.
Spears received her award from designer Karl Lagerfeld at the event on Thursday (Thurs27Nov08) before taking to the stage to thrill fans with a remixed version of her U.S. number one smash Womanizer.
And the singer seemed to be taking inspiration from fellow superstar Madonna - as she wore a replica of the Material Girl’s top hat and mesh-corset ensemble she has been sporting on her worldwide Sticky & Sweet tour.
And despite not performing for over a year - Spears proved to fans she has put her troubled past behind her and was ready to make a global comeback.
Earlier in the day, the singer’s mother Lynne Spears told British morning show GMTV, "I think Britney is just ready to get started again. This is when she’s most in her element."

The wife of French president Nicolas Sarkozy will act as a goodwill ambassador for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, as well as other dangerous illnesses including tuberculosis and malaria.

British actor RAY WINSTONE will star alongside his TV star daughter JAIME in a traditional London Christmas pantomime - which will mock troubled singer AMY WINEHOUSE.
The Sexy Beast star has signed up to appear in the annual Portobello Panto production of Snow White and the Seven Drunks.
The Christmas musical show mocks the entertainment industry’s most colourful characters, and this year (08), the main target is the Back to Black hitmaker, according to The London Paper.
Other Brits starring in the production include U.K. pop star Lily Allen’s actor brother Alfie, superproducer Mark Ronson’s former girlfriend Daisy Lowe and renowned thespian Colin Salmon.

STEPHEN BALDWIN has shown his loyalty to teen star MILEY CYRUS - after telling reporters the HANNAH MONTANA’s Disney rival SELENA GOMEZ isn’t "cool" enough for him to have her initials tattooed on his arm.
The gaffe-prone actor met Cyrus at a function in Washington D.C last year (08) where Cyrus dared Baldwin to have the letters H and M - the initials of her character in the hit show - inked. In return she offered him a cameo on her show, reports TMZ.com.
And Baldwin stuck to his word - he showed up in Cyrus’ Nashville, Tennessee hometown earlier this month (Nov08) with HM tattooed on his bicep.
And according to Hollyscoop.com, when Baldwin was asked by reporters at a recent event if he had plans to add Cyrus’ career rival Gomez’s logo to his body-art collection, he stunned fans by saying, "No, not her. She’s not cool.

Catwalk beauty TYRA BANKS is refusing to lend her name to her own range of products, because there are too many celebrities trying to win a piece of the lifestyle market.
The supermodel-turned-talkshow host admits she is always being approached to launch her brand name.
But she has no plans to follow the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey or Beyonce Knowles, who are among a host of stars to have their own fashion, perfume and beauty deals - no matter how lucrative the offer.
She tells Ebony magazine, "I don’t just want to throw my name on stuff like that.
"Oh, my God, I’ve had the opportunity. And I could have retired off of doing that type of stuff. I just feel that the marketplace for celebrities throwing their names on things is oversaturated."

Australian actor HUGH JACKMAN is glad people assumed he was gay in his youth because it gave him the chance to act like a "vulture" and pick up single girls.
The X-Men hunk was plagued by rumours he was a homosexual after starring as gay performer Peter Allen in a Broadway production of The Boy from Oz.
The speculation surrounding his sexuality peaked when his actress wife Deborra-Lee Furness took on the role of rumour-crusher - telling everyone that her man definitely wasn’t into same-sex relationships.
And when asked by MTV what the biggest three rumours about were, Jackman says, "Gay, gay and gay." But the gossip-mongerers failed to make an impact on the thick-skinned star because he had a great time picking up surprised girls in gay clubs.
He explains, "I probably shouldn’t be saying this, but I remember when I was about 19, me and my mate used to go to these dance parties which were 80 per cent gay guys, 18 per cent girls who were sick of heterosexual guys hitting on them, and then vultures like me and my mate.
"We would go there until two in the morning, when the girls were really drunk and wishing they weren’t with 80 per cent gay guys
. (I was) The worst! The leech! The vulture!" However, Jackman is starting to tire of the rumours which still surround him: "I just think the whole idea of judging someone based on their sexuality is ridiculous

A payslip dating from 1911 which reportedly inspired the BEATLES hit ELEANOR RIGBY has fetched $177,000 (£115,000) at an auction in the legendary band’s hometown of Liverpool, England on Thursday (27Nov08).
The signed document under the hammer was the wage slip of a household maid named E. Rigby from Liverpool dating back 97 years.
An advocate for disabled children was allegedly sent the document after she appealed to Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney to donate money to a children’s charity.
And seller Annie Mawson believes McCartney sent the document to her so she could raise funds for the Sunbeams Music Trust, announcing she will donate the full amount to the good cause.
However, despite the payslip bringing in high bids from interested buyers, McCartney refutes the claims the document inspired his famous sombre tune insisting he made the title character up.
He says, "Eleanor Rigby is a totally fictitious character that I made up. If someone wants to spend money buying a document to prove a fictitious character exists, that’s fine with me."

The funeral of late rapper MC BREED will take place on Tuesday (02Dec08), according to the star’s devastated family.
The Ain’t No Future In Yo’ Frontin’ hitmaker - real name Eric T. Breed passed away early on Saturday morning (22Nov08).
The star was admitted to hospital in Atlanta, Georgia with kidney failure earlier this year (Sep08) and put on a life support machine. He showed improvement and left intensive care but was reportedly expected to need a kidney transplant.
He will be laid to rest in his hometown of Flint, Michigan, according to Allhiphop.com.
And his grieving parents have urged the hip hop star’s fans to donate to America’s kidney research charities in his memory.

SEAN ‘DIDDY’ COMBS is so sure he will be picked as the first black JAMES BOND he has splashed out $750,000 (£500,000) on making his 007 audition tape.
The hip hop mogul has previously spoken of his desire to play an African-American incarnation of the suave superspy, and has set plans in motion to ensure he lands the coveted role.
Combs travelled to the luxurious South of France to film the promo near the Casino Royale; the inspiration behind current blonde Bond Daniel Craig’s debut film in the long-running franchise.
The rapper took to the skies in a helicopter, wearing a tuxedo and surrounded by his very own Bond girls.
And the star is adamant that after Craig has surrendered his license to kill, he will be in line for the part - because of U.S. president-elect Barack Obama’s historical victory at the American election earlier this month (Nov08).
He tells Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper, "This is my audition tape for the next James Bond. There is a black president and it’s time for there to be a black Bond." But he’s facing some stiff competition - R&B hitmaker Akon and Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx are also reportedly keen to play the legendary secret agent.

The music boss who gave legendary Irish rockers U2 their first big break has died.
Irish music executive Rob Partridge, who handed the Beautiful Day hitmakers their first album deal, passed away following a battle with liver and bowel cancer. He was 60.
Partridge signed U2 to Island Records in 1980 when they were struggling to make it into the music industry.
As the label’s head of press, Partridge went on to act as the band’s publicist for over a decade.
He also helped the careers of Bob Marley, Grace Jones, Tom Waits and Marianne Faithfull.
U2 frontman Bono has paid tribute to the late music mogul, saying, "Rob Partridge was the first person in the British Music Industry to sing our praises. He not only had an eye for upcoming talent, he was a nurturer… a person who would educate you about the kind of obstacles you were going to meet and how to get over them… a rare human being." And singer Faithfull also remembers him fondly: "(He was) one of the greatest men I have known and a great man to work with. I don’t know what I will do without him, we have been friends for so long." He is survived by his wife, Tina.
