TV BOSS PROMISES PREGNANCIES AFTER SMULDERS & HANNIGAN BABY PLANS
HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER creator CRAIG THOMAS has urged wannabe parents to visit the set of his U.S. sitcom - after both COBIE SMULDERS and ALYSON HANNIGAN fell pregnant while filming the show.
Smulders, who stars as TV reporter Robin Scherbatsky in the hit series, announced on Wednesday (26Nov08) she is expecting her first child with American comedian Taran Killam, just a month after co-star Hannigan confirmed her own pregnancy.
And Thomas, who enticed Britney Spears to make an acclaimed cameo on the show earlier this year (08), has joked that he must work with the most fertile actresses in the industry.
In a statement, he says, "Everyone’s tremendously excited by all the impending motherhood here at How I Met Your Mother. We’re all so happy for Cobie and Aly, who will undoubtedly be amazing moms! "And now, a public service announcement: If you’re trying to start a family, please come visit the set of How I Met Your Mother. Just come by and hang out for a day or two. We can’t legally guarantee anything, but by the time you leave, you will almost certainly be pregnant."
