SPEARS ‘READY TO GET STARTED’ WITH CAREER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:27 pm

BRITNEY SPEARS’ mother LYNNE is convinced her daughter will soon return to her superstar status - because she is "in her element" when she is performing.
The Gimme More hitmaker enjoyed huge success in her teenage years before experiencing a meltdown after losing custody of her two sons Sean Preston, three, and Jayden James, two, last year (07). Two stints in hospital earlier this year (08) also heightened fears for her wellbeing.
But the singer has since regained control of her life and is busy preparing for the release of her much-anticipated new album, Circus, next week (begs01Dec08).
Her mum tells British morning show GMTV, "I think Britney is just ready to get started again. This is when she’s most in her element." The singer is aware she is going to have to juggle her professional life with the welfare of her sons - but Lynne is sure she’ll be able to balance her responsibilities.
She adds, "There’s gonna have to be the balance - it has to be worked out with work and everything like any other performer has to.
"But everything’s going to be fine because we’ve got a lot of people and the best that are helping us now. We’re gonna get this done and it’s all gonna be good. You just wait and see!" And Lynne reveals that it was good old fashioned family support that got the singer through her rough patch: "I think with a lot of love and care and help (she recovered). Sometimes you have to settle down. You have to stop (and) think. There are a lot of people that care about Britney and love Britney and Britney’s doing great now."

CHIVALROUS BECKHAM HELPS TUMBLING PAPARAZZO

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:24 pm

DAVID BECKHAM came to the aid of a beleaguered paparazzo in New York on Wednesday night (26Nov08) - as a swarm of snappers clamoured to capture the soccer hunk with wife VICTORIA BECKHAM and pals TOM CRUISE and KATIE HOLMES.
The Beckhams are in the Big Apple staying with the Cruise clan over Thanksgiving (27Nov08), and they all stepped out on Wednesday to check out a performance of Holmes in Broadway play All My Sons.
The sight of the superstars arriving at Manhattan’s Schoenfeld Theatre created a frenzy and one female photographer tripped up as she stretched to get a picture - prompting the chivalrous Beckham to step over to help her to her feet.
The group, and their collective five kids, later all gathered to eat at a restaurant in the Greenwich Village neighbourhood.

AUSTRALIA STAR DIDN’T KNOW HENDRIX WAS DEAD

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:24 pm

AUSTRALIA star DAVID GULPILIL leads such a remote life in the Australian outback, he has only just discovered JIMI HENDRIX, who he befriended 38 years ago, has died.
The 55-year-old Aborigine has starred in a string of hit Aussie movies since finding fame in 1970 epic Walkabout.
But he still lives deep in the bush, cut off completely from civilisation.
And during a casting meeting for Australia, director Baz Luhrmann was stunned to discover how out of touch Gulpilil really is.
The filmmaker says, "He’s quite mystical. I went to see him and he said, ‘Baz. That fellow I played didgeridoo with all those years ago. Jimi Hendrix.
Is he still around?’ "He had no idea." Hendrix died in London in 1970, shortly after his meeting with Gulpilil.

ROURKE HAPPY TO BE BACK

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:24 pm

MICKEY ROURKE is thankful for his starring role in new film THE WRESTLER because he feared he would never get the chance to act again.
The Angel Heart star has been tipped to win an Oscar for his performance in Darren Aronofsky’s latest film.
But Rourke is just happy to be back on the big screen, having spent years out of the Hollywood limelight after a string of well documented run-ins with the law and a failed foray into professional boxing.
He says, "For so many years, I’d sit and talk to the dog, and say, I’m not coming back, it’s over.
"I was never going to quit. That’s not in me. But I thought, I’ve f**ked it up. I didn’t think I’d come back to this level ever again. I hoped I would but I thought too much time had gone by." And now Rourke is back in the spotlight he is determined to stay out of trouble - because he is sick of people looking down on him.
He adds, "I’ve been to hell, I’m not going back there. I’ve been to hell. And I had to stay there for so long, it was like, no, no way.
"I was talking to my priest because I was saying I’m scared, it’s such a nice feeling to feel proud again, not to be living in shame and disgrace and failure. I remember walking into a restaurant one time and people looking at me, and it was like Jack the Ripper had walked in."

The 33-year-old Brit is currently shooting the last ever season of the hit drama, in which she plays Dr. Neela Rasgotra.
And sources claim her alleged pregnancy won’t be written into the storyline.
Instead, as her tummy grows, it’ll be hidden from camera.
An insider tells the National Enquirer, "Parminder is thrilled beyond belief.
"But with the show in its last season, she doesn’t want to take anything away from the fanfare. She’s happy to be filmed standing behind counters. Viewers won’t have a clue. The big lab coats and gurneys will be hiding her belly." Nagra’s publicist had yet to return requests for comment when approached by WENN to confirm the reports.

ZANE’S PARENTS ACCUSED OF CONNING STUDENTS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:21 pm

TITANIC star BILLY ZANE’s teacher parents have been accused of shutting down the Illinois medical college they ran without warning - and conning students out of $30,000 (£20,000) in tuition fees.
Around 60 students at Chicago, Illinois’ Medical Careers Institute allege William and Thalia Zane have locked the doors on the school and disappeared after collecting money for the upcoming semester of classes.
Several of those at the college - training in echocardiography and medical billing and coding - tried to track the couple down, and were informed they had moved to their native Greece.
Student Valerie Ramirez tells the National Enquirer, "It was a huge shock for everyone. I showed up for class one day and there was an angry mob of students trying to figure out what happened.
"William and Thalia disappeared with our money. I lost $4,000, not to mention the six months of training I have no credit for - and they gave us no explanation whatsoever." Yaakov Reed adds, "They were accepting payments up to two days prior to closing. Because their son was a wealthy actor, we never considered that the school would close in such a fraudulent way." The Illinois State Board of Education has vowed to launch an investigation into the school’s closure if the money isn’t refunded within 30 days, reports the Enquirer.

SPEARS’ MUM MYSTIFIED BY DAUGHTERS’ ATTENTION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:18 pm

LYNNE SPEARS is bewildered with the amount of interest in her daughters BRITNEY and JAMIE-LYNN - because they are just normal, homely girls.
The Toxic hitmaker has enjoyed an enormously successful singing career, and her younger sister rose to fame starring in teen show Zoey 101.
Both girls have become mothers, with Britney having two boys - Sean Preston, three, and Jayden James, two - with ex-husband Kevin Federline, while Jamie-Lynn welcomed tot Maddie with fiance Casey Aldridge earlier this year (08).
And despite watching their fame grow, their mother and her friends are shocked - because they still see them as the little girls they saw grow up.
She tells U.K. show GMTV, "My friends and I talk about it and they go, ‘What is the deal? What’s so interesting about Britney? What is the deal with your daughters? I don’t get it'’ "People that have known us all our lives, they’re mystified. They go, ‘What is the deal?’"

"We had a load of different events, racing solar powered vehicles and we got in the Guinness Record book for the largest group shower. We had a 1,000 people." SHAWTY LO BLASTS T.I. FOR NOT KEEPING CREW UNDER CONTROL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:15 pm

Rapper SHAWTY LO has blamed T.I.’s inability to "contain his people" for the scuffle that forced police to shut down the Dirty Awards in Atlanta, Georgia on Monday (24Nov08).
The fourth annual hip-hop prizegiving had to be halted by authorities after fights erupted between the two stars’ entourages.
The trouble began when Shawty Lo took to the stage to perform Don’t I - his version of Ain’t I, a track originally recorded by T.I.’s artist Yung L.A., which takes shots at T.I.’s Grand Hustle crew.
But the D4L rapper insists he didn’t instigate the violence - and claims it was Live Your Life hitmaker T.I.’s fault for not doing enough to prevent the fights.
He tells MTV, "I didn’t go and start nothing. If they rewind the cameras, they’ll see how it started. I’m a man. I respect every man as a man. If a man disrespects me, what am I supposed to do? T.I. needs to contain his people.
We’re not standing down. I performed my music; …I didn’t come to start no beef with him..
"Basically, I didn’t start saying anything about Tip (T.I.). I was performing my music. During ‘Foolish’, all of them was coming in front of the stage doing their mugging. After ‘Dunn, Dunn’, I performed the diss record ‘Don’t I’.
That’s what made me perform the diss record. I ain’t gonna lie; they was disrespecting me. I wasn’t gonna let them disrespect me."

BOY GEORGE HANDCUFFED MODEL AS ‘REVENGE FOR SEX REFUSAL’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:15 pm

Former CULTURE CLUB singer BOY GEORGE handcuffed a male escort to his bedroom wall because the model refused to have sex with him, a London jury has heard.
The star, real name George O’Dowd, is facing a charge of false imprisonment after allegedly luring model Audun Carlsen to his East London home last year (07), where he reportedly handcuffed him to a hook on the wall and beat him with a metal chain.
Carlsen took the stand at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Wednesday (26Nov08) and described how, in an earlier meeting in January (08) when he posed for nude photoshoot, the singer had performed a sex act on him for "five seconds before I said no".
It was only after this incident that O’Dowd began sending emails to Carlsen accusing him of hacking into his computer.
The model agreed to return to his apartment three months later - only to be attacked, he claimed. He described how he had allegedly been called a "w**ker" and punched repeatedly before being beaten as he tried to escape.
Asked why he thought he was attacked, the Norwegian told the court, "I think he couldn’t handle the refusal - me not having sex with him." Carlsen went on to accuse O’Dowd of making up claims the model had tampered with his computer: "It’s a good plan. It is something he has said just to make some kind of excuse. That is all what it is about. It is a big lie." But the singer’s lawyer, Adrian Waterman, hit back at Carlsen, claiming he had exaggerated his story so he could sell it to the press for more cash.
O’Dowd has denied the charge against him.
The trial continues.

LYNNE SPEARS: ‘BRITNEY’S BREAKDOWN WAS LIKE A KID STARTING COLLEGE’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:30 pm

BRITNEY SPEARS’ mother LYNNE has downplayed the star’s much publicised breakdown - comparing the TOXIC hitmaker’s troubles to a teenager starting college.
The singer went into meltdown after losing custody of her two sons Sean Preston, three, and Jayden James, two, last year (07) - and was hospitalised for a mental evaluation in January (08).
But mum Lynne is sure the star’s problems were inevitable - because the singer was attempting to cut loose from her parents.
She tells British morning show GMTV, "I think there comes a time in a young adult’s life where they wanna live their own life and mamma and daddy - they’re not cool anymore.
"I think it was kind of that situation - much similar to a child that goes to college and they’re really into their college life and they don’t really come home a lot. If you can relate it to that."

MOORE FEARS LOOKS ARE HINDERING CAREER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:30 pm

Actress DEMI MOORE is convinced her youthful looks count against her in movie auditions - because film bosses find it difficult to picture her as an older woman for more mature roles.
The Indecent Proposal star, who married toyboy lover Ashton Kutcher in 2005, looks years younger than her age of 46 - thanks to a strict cleansing regime and various beauty treatments.
But Moore, who has denied undergoing extensive sessions of plastic surgery, feels she is "flawed" - as her stunning features are putting off film executives who are unsure what roles they can cast her in.
She tells Britain’s Hello magazine, "Being the age I am, it has been a tough few years because there is so much focus on how I look. It almost got to the point where I felt like, ‘Well they don’t know what to do with me’.
"I am flawed. I’m not 20, not 30, but I’m certainly different from what most people feel someone in her 40s should be. I’m very comfortable with the age I am, and the way I look."

WILLIS GETS INVESTMENT FUNDS BACK

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:27 pm

Hollywood hardman BRUCE WILLIS has finally been refunded for an investment deal gone sour - after taking legal action against a Malaysian technology firm to demand the money back.
The Die Hard star had $1.1 million (£733,330) returned to him from Malaysia’s Petra Group earlier this year (08) after he decided to pull out the $2 million (£1.3 million) he had invested in the company’s recyclable rubber venture, titled Green Rubber, in 2007.
But when Petra executives failed to hand back the remaining $900,000 (£600,000), Willis filed a federal suit against them in a Los Angeles court.
Last week (ends21Nov08), Petra bosses agreed to repay Willis the cash "within the next few weeks", although they claimed they were "very surprised by Mr Willis’ actions and refute in the strongest possible terms any allegations of impropriety".
The actor’s lawyer, Martin Singer, has now confirmed the case has been "amicably resolved" and the star has had his outstanding funds returned, although it was without any interest he would have made on the money.
Willis remains a shareholder in the company and insists he still has faith in the environmental benefits of the company’s products.
In a statement, he adds, "Having resolved the matter, I will continue to maintain a shareholding position in the company and I wish the company, the directors and my fellow shareholders the very best for the future.
"I continue to believe in the green rubber technology and the vast potential it holds for the environment."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:27 pm

MARIAH CAREY’s TENNESSEE co-star LANCE REDDICK is confident the superstar will prove her acting critics wrong with her role in the upcoming movie - because she "pulled off" the part really well.
Carey’s acting debut in 2001’s Glitter was a major box office flop and her performance was savaged by movie reviewers.
But she makes her big-screen return in the forthcoming Tennessee, playing a waitress named Krystal who tries to escape her abusive husband.
And actor Reddick, who starred as her violent spouse, is full of praise for the Hero hitmaker.
He tells People magazine, "She pulled it off. She really took it seriously.
She was committed to proving that she could do this.
"I saw all the subtlety in her work, and it’s really beautiful. After this, I think she’s going to have a film career, if she wants one. She is good."

BANKS CANCELS ANNUAL HOLIDAY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:24 pm

Supermodel-turned-talkshow host TYRA BANKS has sacrificed her annual holiday abroad - so she can save cash in light of the global economic downturn.
The business-savvy beauty, 34, admits she has reconsidered her vacation plans this winter (08) so she can keep up her tradition of paying her staff Christmas bonuses and giving restaurant waiters generous tips.
She tells Ebony magazine, "I gotta take care of my people. Hotel prices are at a peak. Because of what’s going on with the economy I’ve decided not to take that vacation. So I was like, I’ll just chill. I’m doing a ’stay-cation’.
Staying in the States." But Banks confesses she lives a generally frugal lifestyle herself - because she wants to ensure everything she buys is value for money.
The star, who reportedly earned $28 million (£18.6 million) in 2007, says, "I’m all about value. For instance, I’m decorating a new apartment in New York right now, and I have a meeting with the designer and I’m going to tell him, ‘I don’t care how much money they say I make in a year. It could be more, it could be less. But you don’t need to be looking at that number and spending my money as if it is yours.’" Her best pal Kenya Barris, who helped bring Banks’ America’s Next Top Model show to TV, adds, "The thing she is impressed with is getting a deal on something. She gets a kick out of being frugal."
