Actresses KIM CATTRALL and SHARON STONE are poised to return to the U.S. police force for a new POLICE ACADEMY film.
Sex and the City star Cattrall appeared alongside Steve Guttenberg in the original 1984 comedy, while Stone featured in Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol in 1987.
And Guttenberg is hoping to bring both stars back for another movie in the film’s franchise - more than a decade after the seventh installment, 1994’s Police Academy: Mission to Moscow, was released.
He says, "We are doing a new movie and it is going to be great fun. A script is being written and so far it is really great, everyone from the original movies who is still around will return.
"I know Kim and Sharon have been asked but they haven’t said yes yet. It would be really great to have them onboard."

KANYE WEST has hit back at critics who accuse him of using technology in his music to hide his vocal inadequacies - insisting the Auto-Tune device he uses is helping him become a better singer.
West sings with the help of the computer singing aid throughout his forthcoming album 808s and Heartbreak - and he loves the sound of his voice.
His hip-hop rival 50 Cent recently criticised West’s reliance on the technology, and others have pointed out Auto-Tune is regularly used by singers with weak voices.
But the Stronger hitmaker insists it actually makes his job harder.
He says, "I get a lot of backlash for using it (Auto-Tune) because it’s a tool people use when they can’t sing. What it does for me, if I sing off-key, it really points that out. It points out the bad notes. So what I have to do is sing more perfect."

Animal rights activists are begging MICHAEL JACKSON to rescue the giraffes that used to roam on his Neverland Ranch from a hellish new home in Arizona.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) bosses claim four giraffes, which once belonged to Jacko, have been confined in cramped pens at an unlicensed facility in Arizona for over a year - and they’re hoping a plea to the pop superstar will prompt him to take action.
The PETA powers have written to the King of Pop and asked him to intervene on the animals’ behalf.
A spokesman tells WENN, "When Jackson faced recent financial troubles, the giraffes were sold to a couple in Page, Arizona, who were reportedly planning to set up a zoo.
"More than a year later, the giraffes are still confined to pens that allegedly each measure approximately 15 feet by 15 feet, and the animals reportedly have not been receiving adequate veterinary or husbandry care.
"If Michael could see the giraffes’ plight for himself, I’m sure he’d agree that it’s bad - really, really bad. The giraffes may be out of Michael’s life, but he has a responsibility to see that they don’t suffer."

REESE WITHERSPOON was devastated when she won an Academy Award in 2006 for her role in JOHNNY CASH biopic WALK THE LINE, because it forced her to confront her fear of public speaking.
While all the other Best Actress nominees at Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre hoped and prayed for their names to be read out, Witherspoon insists she was’t ready to step up onstage and address the star-studded audience.
She says "The whole time I was sitting there, hoping they wouldn’t call my name - just because the idea of having to give a speech in front of everyone in the world is terrfying.
"It basically sums up who you are and you know it’s going to be the clip that people show for the rest of your life. I don’t know if you’re ever prepared for that.

Actor KELSEY GRAMMER is facing a difficult holiday season - he’ll be fighting to keep the man who killed his sister behind bars.
Freddie Glenn, who abducted Grammer’s teenage sister Karen, slashed her throat and left her for dead in 1975, is up for parole in January (08), but the actor is desperate for the killer not to walk free.
The former Frasier star tells America’s Globe, "I intend to fight his being released… She (sister) died in a horrible, horrible manner." Grammer had to identify the 18-year-old waitress’ body.
Karen bled to death after Glenn and two associates dumped her body by the side of a road in Colorado Springs, Colorado after molesting her.

The Jonas Brothers star admits love drove him to child minding classes when he was a young teen - and found he had a natural gift for looking after kids.

The 20-year-old lover of HULK HOGAN’s estranged wife LINDA has been denied a restraining order against the wrestling icon and film star.
A court in Miami, Florida refused to accept Charley Hill’s claims that Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, has been following and threatening him.
Following the court’s ruling, Hogan’s attorney David Houston stated, "This is just another blatant attempt by Linda Hogan to try to defame Hulk Hogan’s character. We commend the judge on seeing through this ridiculous stunt and denying these baseless claims.” The Hogans split last year (07) after 24 years of marriage.

Rockers GUNS N’ ROSES are threatening to sue the bosses of soda firm Dr. Pepper over a publicity stunt gone wrong.
Dr. Pepper heads promised every person in America a free can of soda if Guns N’ Roses released their long-awaited album Chinese Democracy this year - and agreed to honour the deal when the band put the album out on 23 November (08).
But, according to the band, the soda giant’s website crashed when fans attempting to get a coupon online flocked to the Internet earlier this week (beg24Nov08).
Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose is now calling the stunt “a complete fiasco” - and he has asked his legal team to penalise the soda firm.
According to RollingStone.com, Rose’s lawyer Alan S. Gutman has written to Dr. Pepper CEO Larry Young, stating, "The redemption scheme your company clumsily implemented for this offer was an unmitigated disaster which defrauded consumers and, in the eyes of vocal fans, ‘ruined’ the day of Chinese Democracy’s release… Now it’s time to clean up the mess. ” The group is seeking a public apology via ads in newspapers, plus more time for people to claim their free sodas.

Rapper KANYE WEST is convinced he’ll succeed in passing a law to protect celebrities from the paparazzi - because he comes from a long line of civil rights activists.
The outspoken hitmaker demanded legislation against photographers intruding on high-profile stars after a recent brush with a snapper led to his arrest in England earlier this month (14Nov08). West was released without charge in the incident.
But he has no doubt he’ll triumph in outlawing snappers’ efforts to take pictures without permission, because fighting for change is in his blood.
He says, "I’m going to make a change and I think it’s my responsibility. My mom got arrested for being in sit-ins at age six. My grandfather drove the first car in the marches leading out of Oklahoma. My father was an activist. So I think they’re messing with the wrong celebrity right now." And the Stronger hitmaker vows to continue to verbally attack photographers and fans on the hunt for a picture of the star - because they make him feel like a "museum animal".
He adds, "The thing about the paparazzi is the law hasn’t caught up to the technology of the internet. So it’s like all of these people going out and buying cameras trying to catch pictures of celebrities - not even professional photographers - and they’re exploiting (us) and it’s causing a by-any-means-necessary type of behaviour… where people are jumping fences and completely violating you.
"The problem I have with the paparazzi is if they’re right in front of you and you’re like, ‘Can you please not take a picture of me?’… they just keep on taking it and talking to me like I’m stupid.
"If you’re within arm’s reach, I’m going to grab the camera. That just happens, and you don’t expect that to happen with a celebrity because you think they’re like a museum animal." West’s recent arrest in Newcastle, England, was the second such incident in as many months. The star was also arrested in September (08) after a clash with a paparazzo in Los Angeles International Airport. He was charged with felony vandalism, but it was later dropped by the L.A. County District Attorney’s office.

Rappers SOULJA BOY and NICK CANNON are in talks to star in a new TV series their own version of WILL SMITH’s 1990s hit sitcom THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL AIR.
Since shooting to fame with his eponymous debut single, hip-hop up-and-comer Soulja Boy has been "developing his brand" and he is keen to make a mark on the small and the big screen - including a collaboration with the new Mr. Mariah Carey.
Soulja Boy says, "I’m working with a lot of different artists and developing my brand. I’m working on a brand new Soulja Boy cartoon and I want to do a movie, and me and Nick Cannon are going back and forth with a TV show for Nickelodeon. We are trying to come up with the perfect show, kind of like The Fresh Prince of Bel Air."

WHITNEY HOUSTON has denied reports she’s reunited with ex-husband BOBBY BROWN after the pair was spotted enjoying a romantic dinner together in Georgia.
Houston and Brown sparked reports they had rekindled their romance after photographs surfaced of the pair spending time together on a number of occasions in the state, reports the Chicago Sun Times.
A spokesperson for Houston says the former couple remain separate, "but good friends whose primary interest is the well-being of their daughter".
The stars ended their 15-year marriage in a messy public divorce in April 2007 - with Houston reportedly struggling to overcome her drug addiction and working to make a music comeback.
They have a 15-year-old daughter, named Bobbi Kristina, together.

WILL SMITH is in talks to remake a controversial Korean movie that was linked to a U.S. university massacre.
Oldboy, released in 2003, follows a man’s violent quest for revenge after he was shamed at high school.
South Korean-born Seung-Hui Cho’s murder of 32 students at Virginia Tech in 2007 was linked back to the film, after a photograph was found of him recreating a pose from a poster promoting it.
DreamWorks and Universal secured the rights to remake the movie earlier this year (08), and Smith has confirmed he is interested in recreating the film although rumours Steven Spielberg will direct have been denied.

Broadway stars are the latest to join the chorus of celebrities going green after New York City officials urged show bosses to be less wasteful in a new plan for the entertainment district.
The city’s mayor, Michael Bloomberg, announced a new agreement with Broadway officials on Tuesday (25Nov08) to use more recycled material in the upcoming months.
More than 10,000 marquee lights have already been converted to compact fluorescent bulbs as part of the project, with another 30,000 planned for installation over the next year (09).
Officials are also urging producers recycle stage sets, print Playbills on recycled paper, and ensure costumes are washed in cold water instead of warm.
Bloomberg hopes the changes will slice the city’s carbon emissions by 30 per cent by 2030.
A cast of singers in costume sang a new tune they called Broadway’s Going Green as Bloomberg announced, "That is going to have an impact that reverberates, we hope, far beyond Broadway."

Canadian actress COBIE SMULDERS is expecting her first child with American comedian TARAN KILLAM.
Smulders - real name Jacoba Fransisca Maria Smulders - is scheduled to give birth late next spring (09), her spokesperson has confirmed to People.com.
The 26-year-old former model stars on hit U.S. series How I Met Your Mother as TV reporter Robin Scherbatsky.
Smulders and Killam, also 26, were reportedly introduced by a mutual friend and have also worked together on the series.

Reality TV star SPENCER PRATT has laughed off reports his recent wedding to THE HILLS star HEIDI MONTAG was a staged event simply to garner publicity.
The couple married in a secret ceremony in Mexico, but the country’s requirements on legalising foreign marriages sent internet gossips into a spin about whether their vows were made for TV.
MTV bosses have confirmed cameras have filmed the couple’s journey down the aisle for The Hills and will follow them on their honeymoon, but Pratt insists the nuptials weren’t fake.
He tells Usmagazine.com, "Like other elopements that happen outside the country, we’ll take care of the legal details when we get home.
"We had a beautiful ceremony here at One & Only Palmilla officiated by a minister and photographed by the hotel photographer. We’ve never been happier." Pratt and Montag began dating in 2006.
