CHAMBERS RAPE CASE DROPPED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:18 am

Rape charges against American martial artist-turned-actor JASON CHAMBERS have been dropped due to "insufficient evidence".
Chambers, 28, was taken into custody in Los Angeles on 11 November (08) before posting $200,000 (GBP135,135) bail.
He was questioned in relation to sexual assault and narcotics charges.
He was scheduled to return to court on 5 December (08), but the District Attorney has reportedly rejected the case, citing "insufficient evidence".
Chambers’s attorney, Adam Zolonz, tells TMZ.com, "After taking the matter under submission, the DA’s office found the lack of corroboration, delay in reporting, and the numerous defenses presented… to warrant a rejection of the complaint’s ludicrous contentions." The actor’s credits include roles in U.S. TV series CSI: NY and daytime soap Days Of Our Lives. He currently hosts History Channel show The Human Weapon.

  • GRIEVING WILLIAMS FIRES BACK AT PAPARAZZI DISRESPECT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:15 am

Actress MICHELLE WILLIAMS has slammed the paparazzi for refusing to let her grieve in peace following the death of her ex-boyfriend HEATH LEDGER in January (08).
In her first indepth interview since the tragedy, the Brokeback Mountain star tells the upcoming issue of Newsweek magazine she’ll never forgive the disrespectful snappers who have made her life a misery in the past year - and she won’t forget them.
Williams tells the publication she was particularly disturbed with the efforts some photographers went to just to get a photo of her young daughter Matilda.
She says, "It burns a fire inside of me, the s**t that I’ve seen people do to get at me or my daughter. I won’t forget it, and I won’t support it. I don’t want my daughter growing up feeling spied on or threatened." And it was one encounter with an over-zealous female paparazzo, which tipped the mellow actress over the edge.
She explains, "I said, ‘You’re better than this. Look at you! You’re young, you’re able-bodied, you have a brightness in your eyes. You’re above this.’ But you know what? She didn’t go away." And the intrusion has prompted Williams to seriously think about leaving her home in New York - and walking away from her acting career: "If it gets to the point where I can’t situate my life in a way that they stay away more, then I’ll drop a match on the thing.
"I’ll be sad. I like to act. It’s saved my life over and over again. It’s given me a sense of self-esteem, self-worth. I have this thing that I’m in love with… and now it has this baggage." Meanwhile, Williams admits the grief of Ledger’s drug overdose death still hangs over her daily.
She adds, "It’s so sad… I just wake up each day in a slightly different place. Grief is like a moving river.
"It’s a strange thing to say, because I’m at heart an optimistic person, but I would say, in some ways, it just gets worse. It’s just that the more time that passes, the more you miss someone."

  • T.I. TESTIFIES AGAINST PAL’S MURDERER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:12 am

Rapper T.I. has told an Ohio court that the bullets which killed his pal and minder Philant Johnson were meant for him.
On Friday (21Nov08), the hitmaker testified in the trial of Hosea Thomas, who is accused of firing the shot that killed Johnson during a car chase in 2006.
He said, "All of those rounds were fired for me, in my opinion." T.I. also recalled the moment when he realised his longtime friend was dead as blood was streaming from a gunshot wound in his temple.
The rapper also told the Hamilton County court that he called Johnson’s mother to apologise after the shooting, and then spoke with the dead man’s young daughter, telling her that her father had gone to "a better place".
Three men were injured in the shooting, but T.I. escaped unscathed.
The rapper claims paranoia following the shooting led to him creating an arsenal of illegal firearms - for protection.
He was sentenced to one year in prison on federal weapons charges after police caught him trying to buy automatic weapons.
The rap star will start his sentence in March (09) after completing 1,000 hours of community service.

  • BARKER FILES SUIT AGAINST PLANE CRASH AVIATION COMPANY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:12 am

Rocker TRAVIS BARKER has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the aviation company he holds responsible for his near-death plane crash in September (08).
Barker suffered second and third-degree burns as he escaped the burning wreckage of a LearJet, which failed to clear the runway at a South Carolina airport and crashed. He spent almost a month in hospital burns units recovering.
The drummer’s best friend, Charles Still, and an assistant were killed in the tragedy. Barker and bandmate Adam ‘DJ AM’ Goldstein were the only survivors.
Now, the rock star has filed suit against Clay Lacy Aviation, asking for damages for "pain and suffering, mental anguish, psychological and emotional distress and disfigurement," personal injury and wrongful death.
And, according to TMZ.com, Barker is also suing Goodyear Tire and Rubber in connection with the plane crash.
Federal aviation officials in America have officially blamed a blown tyre for the tragedy.
The suit, filed in L.A. County Superior Court by Barker and Still’s mother Thelma, alleges there was a "negligent attempt to abort the take-off," and the pilot’s decision to continue "was a breach of their duty owed to the passengers onboard." The suit also alleges the now-dead pilot’s decision "was a substantial factor in causing the crash and resultant injuries and deaths." Barker also alleges the plane was "defective," with his lawyers claiming the aircraft’s "landing gear, tires, wheels, brakes, reverse thrust system, squat switches and component parts were not airworthy."
