British actress SIENNA MILLER has won $78,970 (£53,000) damages from a paparazzi photo agency after launching a lawsuit for "harassment".
Earlier this month (Nov08), the Alfie star won her case against U.K. tabloids The Sun and the News of the World over pictures and articles which appeared in the publications over the summer (08).
She accepted a $22,300 (£35,000) settlement from the newspapers.
And now she has triumphed in her legal action against Big Pictures (UK) Limited and its founder Darryn Lyons.
The case was set to go to trial at London’s High Court on 19 January (08), but both sides reached an agreement on Friday (21Nov08), bringing the litigation to an end.
The agency has agreed to pay Miller $55,130 (£37,000) in damages, and her legal costs.
It will also pay a further $23,841 (£16,000) which was awarded to the actress in an earlier action against Big Pictures for invasion of privacy over a series of intrusive photographs which it procured and syndicated in July (08).

Movie studio bosses have signed a deal to revive MATT DAMON’s amnesiac assassin character in a new series of hit action flick THE BOURNE IDENTITY.
The estate of late author Robert Ludlum has given exclusive rights to Universal Pictures for Damon’s character, Jason Bourne.
The three series saga has grossed more than $1 billion (£667.3 million) worldwide.
Ludlam Entertainment chairman-CEO Jeffrey Weiner tells Daily Variety, "Universal has done such an excellent job with the first three films that they deserve the opportunity to keep Jason Bourne at the studio forever." Damon and director Paul Greengrass have already been signed to a fourth film, scheduled for theatre release in 2010.

Superstars JAY-Z and BEYONCE KNOWLES have topped a new poll as Hollywood’s richest couple - with combined earnings for 2008 of $162 million (£109 million).
The Crazy In Love stars, who wed in April (08), have amassed a fortune in the year from 1 June 2007 to 2008.
Rapper Jay-Z earned $82 million (£55.4 million) from his recent $150 million (£101 million) 10-year deal with concert promoter Live Nation, while wife Knowles has brought in $80 million (£54 million) from her various ventures in fashion, film and music.
Their 2008 fortune sets them far apart from Hollywood’s other power couples Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are in second place in the Forbes magazine poll with $85 million (£57 million), while Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie could only manage fifth place with $34 million (£22.9 million).

American poet DONALD FINKEL has died of complications of Alzheimer’s disease.
He was 79.
Finkel passed away on 15 November (08) at his home in St. Louis, Missouri.
Born in 1929, the writer went on to publish 14 volumes of poetry throughout his career, including Simeon, A Joyful Noise, The Farbage Wars and most recently, Not So the Chairs: Selected and New Poems, published in 2003.
His work also appeared in publications including American magazine The New Yorker.
Finkel began teaching at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and Bard College before joining the Washington University faculty in 1960. He held his position there until 1991, and remained poet in residence emeritus at the time of his death.
His wife, Constance Urdang, a novelist and poet, died in 1996. He is survived by his son, Tom, two daughters, Liza and Amy, a half-brother, and two grandchildren.

American tennis star-turned-TV personality CAROLE CALDWELL GRAEBNER has died at the age of 65.
Graebner - who served as a member of the United States Olympic Committee died on 19 November (08) in New York after losing a recurring battle with cancer, according to her daughter Cameron Graebner Mark.
Graebner was ranked in the U.S. top 10 in singles from 1961 to 1965 and again in 1967.
She was also a top-ranked doubles player; she captured doubles titles at the 1965 U.S. Championships and 1966 Australian Championships with partner Nancy Richey, and served the U.S. Tennis Association as chairwoman of the Fed Cup committee.
Graebner and fellow tennis star Billie Jean King helped inaugurate the international tennis competition in London in 1963.
In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Graebner was vice president of Tennis Week magazine and a radio and television commentator.
She is survived by her daughter, son Clark, and four grandchildren.

Oscar winner JAMIE FOXX is desperate to make history by becoming the first black actor to play JAMES BOND.
Current star Daniel Craig recently suggested it could be time for the first black Bond in the wake of Barack Obama’s election as the first African-American president in U.S. history.
And Ray star Foxx has put his name forward as the man to replace Craig when he decides to call it quits - revealing he would inject his own personality into the suave English spy.
Asked by U.S. news show Access Hollywood whether he would like to play Bond, he says, "Of course! I’d put a little swing in it. A little hip-hop, you know.
Maybe not drinking martinis, but drinking some Hennessey maybe. Bond would drink dark liquor." And Foxx admits he has already received backing to take on the coveted role.
He adds, "I was in London and I had to give an award to Daniel Craig… and I went up and said, ‘Bond. Black Bond.’ And everybody just lost it… Black Bond would be cool."

Comedian RUSSELL BRAND and British TV presenter JONATHAN ROSS’ lewd phone calls to actor ANDREW SACHS were "grossly offensive" and "unjustifiable", according to an official probe by the BBC Trust.
Brand quit his BBC Radio 2 show after he and fellow broadcaster Ross were slammed for leaving voicemail messages on Fawlty Towers star Sachs’ phone, in which they discussed Brand’s fling with the 78-year-old’s granddaughter Georgina Baillie.
Ross was subsequently suspended for three months, and now an investigation by the BBC Trust - the BBC’s independent watchdog - has blasted the pair and promised harsh punishments for any repeat incidents.
BBC Trustee Richard Tait says, "It was a very offensive programme which should never have been recorded. Once the offensive phone call was made, the recording should have stopped and senior management alerted. It is a catalogue of editorial and management failures."

American martial artist-turned-actor JASON CHAMBERS has been arrested on suspicion of rape.
Chambers - who has starred in episodes of CSI: NY and daytime soap Days Of Our Lives, and is currently the host of History Channel show The Human Weapon was taken into custody in Los Angeles on 11 November (08).
He was questioned in relation to sexual assault and narcotics charges - cops believe the alleged victim may have been drugged, according to website TMZ.com.
Officials have yet to file charges against 28-year-old Chambers; he has been released on $200,000 (£135,135) bail and is due back in court on 5 December (08).

Music mogul TOMMY MOTTOLA has a new business adviser - his 14-month-old daughter SABRINA.
The former Sony Music boss and wife, Mexican pop star Thalia, welcomed their little girl last October (07), and she’s already showing business savvy.
Mottola acquired a majority stake in an infant education and entertainment company called Every Baby - after watching his little Sabrina’s reaction to one of its videos.
Mottola tells the New York Post, "She was jumping up and down and mimicking the video, and she never did that before with anything else we showed her. As soon as I saw that, I called (the owners) and asked for a meeting." Company president Stephen Gass adds of the venture, "We were looking for additional cash, as well as brainpower, to take us from a boutique brand to a mass-market household-entertainment franchise." A source tells the newspaper Mottola invested $2 million (£1.3 million) in the project and plans to raise an additional $25 million (£16.7 million), giving him a 50 per cent stake in the company.

Rapper/actor COMMON is appealing to U.S. President-elect BARACK OBAMA to consider him for the role of Secretary of State - because potential candidate HILLARY CLINTON could never match his rhyming skills.
The Wanted actor has been the topic of bizarre rumours alleging he is in the running for the top post when Obama is sworn into office in January (09) - and Common is happy to make light of the claims.
He jokes to MTV, "Well, they are trying to figure it out between me and Hillary, and I keep telling them I’ve got some things I can bring to the table that they’ve never had before. ‘I would be a great secretary of state/ And I’m going to innovate/ Have you ever had a secretary of state/ Who could rhyme so great?’" But regardless of whether Obama takes Common’s appeal seriously, the star insists he wouldn’t miss the Democrat’s inauguration for the world.
He says, "I’ve been feeling a new day since November 4th at 11:35 Chicago time. Ever since I first heard that announcement and witnessed everything that I witnessed, being at Grant Park (in Chicago, where Obama gave his victory speech). I’ve been feeling like I’m breathing new air, and I feel the energy coming for a lot of people. I really love it.
"I will be there for the inauguration. I can’t wait."

Rock n’ roll king ELVIS PRESLEY was once so keen to share his song ideas with pal TOM JONES, he joined him in the bathroom as the Welsh crooner was taking a shower.
The late legend was a big fan of Jones’ and they’d often hang out together when on tour in the same city.
But one occasion, in Las Vegas, left Jones feeling a little embarrassed.
He tells U.K. chatshow host Graham Norton, "When we played Vegas together, when he’d finish his shows and I’d still be there, he’d come to my shows. He’d always be there. Sometimes he’d walk on the stage. The strangest thing is I’d be in the middle of a song and then suddenly everyone would go ‘ahhh’, and I’d be thinking, what’s happened?! "Then one night, I’ve come off stage and Elvis is in the dressing room. He said, ‘Tom, I’ve got a song for you’ and I said, ‘Ok great, but I gotta get in the shower’, I’ve perspired so much. So I’m in the shower, and the water’s coming down and then I hear (Elvis singing). I was thinking I’m going bloody mad here, because I can hear Elvis Presley singing in the shower! Then I opened my eyes and he’s leaning over the door!"

Shamed pop star GARY GLITTER is appealing against a travel restriction which was put in place following his return to the U.K. after serving time in Vietnam for sex crimes.
The singer - real name Paul Gadd - was released from a Vietnam prison in August (08) after serving nearly three years for sexually assaulting two girls aged nine and 11.
Glitter was ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register when he arrived back in his native U.K., meaning he has to inform British authorities of any plans to go abroad.
A recent application to travel to Spain via France was turned down by a judge in September (08) - and now the 64-year-old is fighting the restriction altogether.
Lawyers acting on behalf of the rocker brought the case before a judge at London’s Harrow Crown Court on Friday (21Nov08), when an appeal date was set for 19 February (09).

Rocker GENE SIMMONS is furious his band KISS has been excluded from a new shortlist of acts to be considered for induction into the U.S. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next year (09).
The Crazy Nights hitmakers released their first album in 1974 - thereby fulfilling the requirement that rules eligible acts must have released their first album at least 25 years prior to a nomination.
And Simmons can’t understand why Kiss has been left off the new shortlist which includes guitarist Jeff Beck, singer Bobby Womack and Metallica.
Speaking at a Billboard Touring Conference on Thursday (21Nov08), the star ranted: "There are disco bands, rap bands, Yiddish folk song bands in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but not Kiss.
"I believe we have more gold records in America than any other group, but it’s okay." The final five acts will be announced in January (09) and officially honoured at the 24th induction ceremony in Cleveland, Ohio on 4 April (08).

Rapper COREY ‘C-MURDER’ MILLER has won a bid to postpone his murder retrial after the presiding judge was defeated in the U.S. Judicial District Court elections.
The New Orleans, Louisiana star - brother of rap mogul Master P - is currently awaiting a new trial over charges he shot dead 16-year-old Steve Thomas in a club in 2002.
He was convicted and handed a life sentence for second-degree murder in 2003, but it was overturned in 2006.
The new court hearing for Miller’s second-degree murder charge was due to take place in January (09), two weeks before incumbent Judge Martha Sassone steps down from her post in Gretna, Louisiana.
But it has now been delayed until a new judge can be appointed to the case because Sassone’s successor, Ellen Kovach, made disparaging remarks about Sassone and her handling of Miller’s case in her battle for the position.
Kovach had claimed Sassone had shared birthday cake in court with the defendant, and alleged that Miller had been "getting away with more than murder" in her campaign for the Judicial District Court seat.
Miller’s lawyers argued Kovach’s comments could affect jurors’ decisions in the case, and as a result, she has excused herself from the murder retrial. It could now take weeks or even months until a new judge takes over Miller’s case.

KYLIE MINOGUE headlined a spectacular $30 million (£20 million) mega-party in front an array of Hollywood stars at the opening of the £1.5 billion Atlantis Palms Hotel in Dubai.

A Malaysian technology firm has agreed to repay Hollywood actor BRUCE WILLIS his $900,000 (£599,010) investment - after the star took legal action to demand a refund.
Malaysia’s Petra Group returned $1.1 million (£732,154) to Willis earlier this year (08) after he decided to pull out the $2 million (£1.3 million) he invested in the firm’s recyclable rubber venture last year (07).
The Die Hard star reportedly filed a court complaint in Los Angeles this week (begs17Nov08), alleging he failed to receive the remaining $900,000.
Now bosses at the technology conglomerate have announced they will pay Willis the balance "within the next few weeks", according to a statement emailed to the Associated Press.
They go on to deny any wrongdoing, claiming they are "very surprised by Mr Willis’ actions and refute in the strongest possible terms any allegations of impropriety".

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY is so worried about the current global financial crisis, he’s called in his accountant to ensure he doesn’t lose his millions.
The former Beatles star, who is said to be worth as much as $1.2 billion (£824 million) was forced to hand $36.45 million (£24.3 million) to ex-wife Heather Mills in their divorce settlement earlier this year (08).
And now he’s called in his financial advisor to make sure he doesn’t lose any more money as the world faces a recession.

LINDSAY LOHAN and girlfriend SAMANTHA RONSON are undergoing counselling in a bid to save their troubled relationship, according to U.S. reports.
The Mean Girls star has been romantically linked to the DJ since they were spotted kissing and cuddling at a party in Cannes, France earlier this year (08).
And the actress declared her love for Ronson in a recent magazine interview, saying, "She’s a wonderful person and I love her very much." But now the pair are "are fighting like cats and dogs," a source tells New York gossip column PageSix.com.
"They fight every day, screaming, crying and yelling at each other.
"Sam and Lindsay are still very much together and very much in love, but drama just seems to follow Lindsay, and Sam hates it. She deals with Lindsay every day. The source adds, "Lindsay is high-maintenance and a lot to deal with. And Sam has always dealt with her. But it isn’t easy.
"The things they argue about have to do with their age difference. But no matter what happens, at the end of the day, they are always fine." A representative for Lohan said she was unaware of any therapy sessions.
