KYLIE MINOGUE is to make her Middle East debut performance at the opening of the much-hyped Atlantis - The Palm resort in Dubai on Thursday (20Nov08).
The Aussie singer will join Robert De Niro, Denzel Washington, Oprah Winfrey, Tom Cruise, R&B couple Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri and lesbian lovers Samantha Ronson and Lindsay Lohan, among others, at the glitzy launch, according to Hollywood.TV.
Minogue will headline a show which will also feature Middle-Eastern pop sensations Nawal and Priyanka Chopra.
The Palm will be lit up in what will be the world’s largest fireworks display, designed and created by pyro expert, Grucci. Reports suggest the firework spectacular will be one of the first visible from space.
Ronson will DJ the Royal Afterglow party.

BRAD PITT and ANGELINA JOLIE’s daughter SHILOH is in the middle of an identity crisis - she only responds to the name John.

Famed Italian jeweller Breil will auction off a white gold 27.93-carat champagne diamond pave Breil Milano Battio heart pendant next year (09) to benefit the actress’ Africa Outreach Project.
Theron turned to Breil after she reached an out-of-court settlement with Raymond Weil after his company sued her, alleging she broke an exclusivity agreement by wearing other companies’ watches during her contract.
According to Eonline.com, Theron became a spokesmodel for for Breil seven months after the suit was filed.

REESE WITHERSPOON has come to fear bouncy castles after spending weeks avoiding vomiting kids on one, while shooting new film FOUR CHRISTMASES.
In the film, the actress plays a character who has a phobia about the inflatables - and now she can understand how someone could feel that way.
She says, "After I had to shoot with the jump-jump for two consecutive weeks, I am very very scared of the jump-jump. We were on that thing for two weeks on a soundstage with all those children.
"Of course one kid decided to eat too many Doritos one day and got on the jump-jump. And then the screaming and the evacuating began - because she threw up everywhere. It was disgusting. Major contamination.
"Then we had to get back on; the show goes on, so we had to get back up there." And Witherspoon insists bouncy castles aren’t ideal for working actresses: "I threw out my shoulder throwing one of those 10-year-old boys to the side. But it was fun for me. I don’t really get to to do that physical comedy that often."

BEYONCE KNOWLES was so impressed with JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE’s spoof stint as her backing dancer on comedy show SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE at the weekend (15Nov08), she is offering him a full-time job on the road with her.
Timberlake slipped into lycra and high heels for a skit on the show, in which he and SNL regulars Andy Samberg and Bobby Moynihan danced to Knowles’ new track Single Ladies.
And the Bootylicious star was impressed with the pop hunk’s moves. She says, "I still can’t believe he did that. He was incredible. We rehearsed it two times. He picked up the choreography. He has this photographic memory. He could probably kill it if he wanted to."

Rap superstar SNOOP DOGG’s family home was 10 to 15 minutes from being destroyed by the wildfires that tore through California over the weekend (15-16Nov08).
The Drop it Like it’s Hot hitmaker’s family and staff fled the infernos as they closed in on his Diamond Bar neighbourhood on Sunday (16Nov08).
Snoop, who was not at home at the time, admits he came close to being made homeless: "My family had to evacuate. It was real close. It was perhaps 10, 15 minutes away." More than 150 houses were destroyed in the fires, including the $11 million (GBP7.3 million) Montecito home of Back to the Future star Christopher Lloyd.
In total, over 1,000 properties were damaged in the fires.

Funnymen TOM GREEN and D.J. QUALLS are hitting the road again for a sequel to 2000 comedy ROAD TRIP.
Road Trip 2: Beer Pong is currently shooting at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia, according to movie news website MovieHole.net.
Green and Qualls will have cameos in the direct-to-DVD release.

The new JAMES BOND film is the fifth most mistake-riddled movie of 2008, according to website MovieMistakes.com.
Quantum of Solace might be the world’s top movie right now, but the 007 film is littered with errors and MovieMistakes.com editor Jon Sandys is happy to point them out.
The 20-plus flaws range from continuity mistakes "like clothes changing appearance", to factual errors "such as confusing an Embassy and a Consulate".
Sandys tells WENN, "Most moviegoers, myself included, probably wouldn’t notice these mistakes the first time around, due to being caught up in the action. But, on a second viewing - or if it’s a factual error related to something you know a lot about, they can be surprisingly obvious.
"For instance, in the rooftop chase between Bond and Mitchell, it is obvious that both characters are wearing black running shoes, whereas before the chase started both were wearing smart black suit shoes and during the film, Bond flies to the airport in Bregenz, Austria. There is no airport in Bregenz."

Pop superstar PRINCE is livid with New Yorker magazine editors after he was misrepresented as an opponent of gay marriage in a published article.
The Purple Rain hitmaker is reportedly “very angry” about comments attributed to him in a recent interview.
According to the article, “When asked about his perspective on social issues - gay marriage, abortion - Prince tapped his Bible and said, ‘God came to earth and saw people sticking it wherever and doing it with whatever, and he just cleared it all out.’” But a Prince source tells Internet blogger Perez Hilton, “What His Purpleness actually did was gesture to the Bible and said he follows what it teaches, referring mainly to the parts about loving everyone and refraining from judgment. We’re very angry he was misquoted.”

MICHAEL JACKSON is too sick to travel to London to testify in a lawsuit with an Arab sheikh, according to his attorney.
The singer’s lawyer Robert Englehart told the High Court in London on Tuesday (18Nov08) that Jackson is awaiting test results on a mystery illness and wants to give evidence via video link from the United States.
Sheikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa of Bahrain is suing the Thriller hitmaker for $7 million (£4.6 million) - claiming Jackson reneged on an agreement to produce an album, autobiography and stage play.
Jackson denies the claims and insists any monies given to him were as a gift.
Judge Nigel Sweeney has now adjourned the case until Thursday (20Nov08) to allow time for medical experts from both legal teams to discuss Jackson’s condition.
However, if no satisfactory outcome is reached, Jackson could be forced to appear in court in person.

In an interview last year (07), Cruise said of the lavish wedding, "As big as it was from the outside, it was a very personal experience and something obviously I’ll never forget." The pair was reportedly joined by their two-year-old daughter, Suri, and Cruise’s adopted children from his marriage to Nicole Kidman - Isabella, 15, and Connor, 13 - to mark the event.

Filmmaker JOSEPH ‘McG’ McGINTY NICHOL has been named Filmmaker of the Year by the heads of the CineAsia movie convention.
The Charlie’s Angels director will pick up his prize at an awards ceremony in Macau on 11 December (08).

Action movie star VIN DIESEL is set to make another XXX movie, returning to the franchise he ditched after the first film.
Diesel and original director Rob Cohen - who both sat out of 2005 sequel XXX: State of the Union - are in talks to reunite for a new film, XXX: The Return of Xander Cage.

U.S. reality TV star MARY DELGADO has been arrested at a Texas bar for public drunkenness.
Delgado - who starred in and won season six of The Bachelor in 2004 - was taken into police custody on Sunday (16Nov08).
Management at Lorina’s Cantina called Val Verde County Sheriff’s police after the TV star, 41, reportedly refused to leave the bar.
She was charged with public intoxication, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct - all misdemeanours - and was released later in the day without bond.
A court date for Delgado has yet to be scheduled.
