ENDLESS SLEEP HITMAKER DEAD AT 75
Rock ‘n’ roll one-hit wonder JODY REYNOLDS has died in California, aged 75.
The rockabilly star, who hit the U.S. top 10 in 1958 with Endless Sleep, lost his battle with liver cancer on 7 November (08).
Reynolds started his career as a member of The Storms in the early 1950s, before going solo.
He claimed Elvis Presley’s Heartbreak Hotel inspired his big hit - he wrote Endless Sleep after listening to The King’s hit over and over.
Reynolds was inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame in 1999. (KL/LT/MJ) WENN - SECOND - HOLLYWOOD, SHOWBIZ & PEOPLE NEWS - 15 NOVEMBER 2008
