PAULA ABDUL is planning to step down from her duties as a judge on AMERICAN IDOL to develop her own TV project, according to U.S. reports.
Reports circuled earlier this year (08) that TV executives at the helm of the hit talent contest were considering replacing the singer after new judge Kara DioGaurdi signed on for the show’s upcoming eighth season.
And according to U.S. magazine OK!, the 45-year-old - who has featured on the show for seven years - is developing new TV projects and is hoping to "transition" out of the series.
A source tells the magazine, "She knows that every season could be her last.
Now she’s got a new secret venture that she’s really excited about." Abdul’s connection with the show has recently left her "saddened" - after alleged stalker Paula Goodspeed, a failed former Idol contestant, was found dead in her car close to the star’s home in Sherman Oaks, California on Tuesday (11Nov08) evening. Goodspeed is said to have become obsessed with Abdul after her brief audition on the show in 2006.

The Swiss actress entranced audiences as Honey Ryder in James Bond’s 1962 debut, Dr

She also played Vesper Lynd in 1967 Bond spoof Casino Royale, a role later taken on by Eva Green in the 2006 spy movie.
The superspy franchise, which boasts 22 completed films, has seen close to 100 fiesty females take on the coveted part.
Sexy star Halle Berry tailed the actress in the second spot, after she played Jinx in 2002’s Die Another Day opposite Pierce Brosnan.

Actress EMMA THOMPSON is upset she missed Royal pal PRINCE CHARLES’ 60th birthday celebrations in England to promote her new film LAST CHANCE HARVEY.
The Oscar winner admits she had to turn down the chance to celebrate with the heir to the British throne on Friday (14Nov08) - because she had prior commitments in America.
She explains, "He’s an old friend and indeed I should’ve been at his 60th birthday, but I was in L.A. I nearly went back, but I thought. ‘I’m gonna die, I’ll just be jet-lagged and useless’." But she’s using interviews to send her birthday wishes to Charles - and to remind the world what a great man he is.
She adds, "I love him and he’s a remarkable guy who just spends his entire time working to make the world slightly less tricky to be in.
"At the moment, he’s really pushing saving the rainforests. He’s terrified about that because we’re destroying them at such a rate.
"Everything he said when he was a young man - that he was ridiculed for by the British press - is all coming to pass, and everyone is saying the exact same things now. He’s a very clear-sighted and, in consequence, rather depressed man, but he’s much loved by many, and especially by me."

BRITNEY SPEARS is set to showcase her ranchiest routine to date when she performs on U.K. talent show The X-Factor later this month (Nov08).
The Toxic hitmaker is set to thrill fans with her new single Womanizer on the hit TV talent contest after music mogul Simon Cowell persuaded her to appear on the series following her triumphant comeback at the MTV VMA awards in Los Angeles in September (08).
Spears has teamed up with her original choreographer Brian Friedman - who also plans the X-Factor contestant’s weekly dance routines.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE’s BBQ restaurant has landed the singer in hot water - a former employee is suing the eaterie over claims he was short changed out of tips.
In a lawsuit filed in a New York court on Friday (14Nov08) , ex waiter Felipe Ramales alleges he and several co-workers were not given their rightful share of automatic gratuity charges.
Ramales, who worked at the singer’s Southern Hospitality restaurant in New York for a year, also claims he wasn’t paid overtime despite regularly working for more than 40 hours a week.
However, restaurant manager Chris Russell denies the accusations - insisting staff took home all their tips and that employee salaries were well over America’s minimum wage, according to E! Online.
Timberlake and his pals Trace Ayala and Eytan Sugarman launched Southern Hospitality in July 2007.
A spokesperson for Timberlake had not commented on the suit as WENN went to press.

LINDSAY LOHAN’s lesbian relationship with DJ SAMANTHA RONSON has been given the thumbs up from an unlikely supporter - the actress’ former flame WILMER VALDERRAMA.
Lohan and Valderrama split in 2004 after nearly a year together.

Oscar winner JAMIE FOXX bit into the role of a schizophrenic musician for his latest movie THE SOLOIST - by chiseling his perfect teeth.
Foxx was determined to create a realistic portrayal of Nathaniel Ayers, a homeless American musician who suffered from schizophrenia, so he took the tool to his mouth to mess up his good looks.
The actor explains to Maxim magazine, "I spent hours getting the nuances of the person, making him real. Something angelic happens and you actually become that person. For Nathaniel, I pushed things a bit. I lost about 20 pounds (9.1 kilos) and I put a gap in my teeth.
"I had one (of my teeth) chipped out with a chisel. My teeth are just so big and white - a homeless person would never have them.
"I wanted to break up my big, shining piano keys to five them a little character. Some might think I f**ked up my grill for nothing, but I just wanted to come up with some s**t to make the part unique."

BACK TO THE FUTURE star CHRISTOPHER LLOYD is fighting to save his home in the Montecito wildfire raging through California.
Buildings on Lloyd’s property sustained major fire damage on Thursday night (13Nov08) and through Friday (14Nov08), with part of the estate turned to ruins.
The actor, who played zany professor Doc Brown in the Back To The Future trilogy, was alerted to the sad news by phone - he’s currently shooting a movie on location in Canada.
Lloyd attempted to sell the property early last year (07) but later pulled his home off the market.
The main house is a local landmark - it was built in 1972 from adobe bricks made on-site, according to the Los Angeles Times newspaper.
Lloyd is due to return to California later this month (Nov08) to prepare for his stint as Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol at the Kodak Theatre.
As WENN went to press, Lloyd is the only Montecito celebrity whose home has been hit by the blaze, but others are on high alert, including Rob Lowe - him and his family have fled their property.
The actor phoned into neighbour Oprah Winfrey’s TV show on Friday (14Nov08) to describe the chaos in the celebrity community.
He said, "We got in the car, pulled out of the driveway and the entire mountain behind us was flames, 200 feet high, shooting into the air…This thing came on so fast, you just can’t believe it. I’ve watched 12 or 13 homes burn to the ground. It’s so tragic. It was Armageddon." Other celebrities with properties at risk include Kevin Costner, Jeff Bridges and Ellen DeGeneres.
At press time, more than 100 houses had burned to the ground.

Rock ‘n’ roll one-hit wonder JODY REYNOLDS has died in California, aged 75.
The rockabilly star, who hit the U.S. top 10 in 1958 with Endless Sleep, lost his battle with liver cancer on 7 November (08).
Reynolds started his career as a member of The Storms in the early 1950s, before going solo.
He claimed Elvis Presley’s Heartbreak Hotel inspired his big hit - he wrote Endless Sleep after listening to The King’s hit over and over.

Acclaimed British songwriter SIR TIM RICE is to be honoured with the 2,375th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Oscar winner Rice will be inducted into the famous Tinseltown landmark by Disney Studios chairman Dick Cook on 20 November (08).
Rice has contributed lyrics to hit Disney movies Beauty & The Beast, Aladdin and The Lion King - and was named a Disney Legend in 2002 - but he enjoyed much of his success with theatre impresario Andrew Lloyd Webber.
The two Brits first teamed up to pen the musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in the late 1960s.
As lyricist behind Lloyd Webber’s music, Rice also had stage hits with Jesus Christ Superstar and Evita, which won him two Tony Awards.
He also teamed up with Abba’s Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson to create the musical Chess.
Rice was knighted in 1994 and inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1999.

CHER has reportedly reconciled with on-off boyfriend TIM MEDVETZ after a health scare sent him rushing back to her side.
The pop superstar, 62, sparked concerns for her wellbeing when she axed a string of shows at the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace last month (Oct08).
She has since assured fans that the bout of bad health was caused by an allergy to Sin City’s winds.
But the brief illness was enough for 38-year-old biker Medvetz to rethink their relationship status - after the pair’s romance had reportedly been on hiatus.

"Cher has assured Tim she’ll give him plenty of room to do whatever he wants.

LINDSAY LOHAN’s trip to France turned sour early on Saturday morning (15Nov08) when she was showered with flour at a Paris club.
An anti-fur activist covered the actress with flour as she was celebrating with friends on the famous Champs-Elysees.
He yelled, "Lindsay Lohan - fur hag!" as the Mean Girls star stood fuming after the attack.
A bystander says, "Lindsay was mortified and then furious. She’s in Paris supporting her girlfriend, DJ Samantha Morton, and I think she was planning a flour-free weekend." It’s believed the flour thrower was connected to animal rights group People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), which has attacked Lohan in recent days for wearing fur coats.
A statement from PETA reads, "Lohan has enraged animal lovers by appearing in at least two different fur coats in recent days, despite PETA’s repeated pleas that she consider how animals suffer for every fur garment and stop wearing their skins. She was named on PETA’s annual Worst Dressed List earlier this year." Her love of fur hit the headlines in May (08), when she was accused of stealing an $11,000 (£7,300) fur coat from a New York club.
PETA Europe’s Robbie LeBlanc has applauded the flour attack on Lohan, stating, "There is nothing remotely fashionable about the torture and death of animals killed for fur.
"Lindsay Lohan might be able to ignore images of bloody animals skinned alive for their pelts, but we hope a dash of flour will help her rise to the occasion and forsake fur once and for all." SIR ELTON JOHN is to perform a massive New Year’s Eve celebration concert in London.
The Rocket Man will belt out an array of his classic hits in front of 17,000 fans at the O2 Arena in the English capital.
Celebrity photographer David LaChapelle will produce the concert, which comes a year after British boyband Take That staged a similar event at the venue.
