Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:21 pm

Two members of rap group THE SUGARHILL GANG have filed a lawsuit against a New York rapper over royalties from their 1979 hit single Rapper’s Delight.
Michael ‘Wonder Mike’ Wright and Guy ‘Master G’ O’Brien filed suit on Thursday (13Nov08) against rapper Joseph Robinson Jr., accusing him of using their names to cash in on the millions of dollars in profits they’ve generated with the hip-hop anthem.
Sugar Hill Publishing is among a list of other parties also named in the suit, accused of refusing to pay royalties to the rappers from decades-old agreements.
Wright and O’Brien also accuse Robinson of tarnishing the group’s image with his own renditions of the hit song, despite not having played or sung on the original According to court documents, "Robinson deceives the audience into believing that he is performing when he is only lip-synching. Robinson is considered be an inadequate performer."
