Actor CHRISTIAN SLATER’s TV spy series MY OWN WORST ENEMY has reportedly been cancelled by its network after a string of poor ratings.
Network giant NBC scrapped the thriller series after its first four episodes pulled in an average of 5.9 million viewers - compared to the 21.1 million who tune in to rival CBS’ crime drama CSI.
The doomed series starred movie veteran Slater as a man with two personalities. But despite heavy promotion, Slater’s star billing, and a Monday 10pm slot following hit show Heroes, the series flopped.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the show was cancelled because of the poor viewing figures. It is not yet known if the remaining episodes will be aired.

JENNIFER ANISTON has played down scathing comments she made about ANGELINA JOLIE in a recent interview - insisting she answered questions about her former love rival "as honestly" as she could.
The former Friends actress blasted Jolie as "uncool" in a shockingly candid chat with U.S. Vogue magazine, just weeks after her ex-husband Brad Pitt’s partner revealed they fell in love on the set of 2005 movie Mr. & Mrs Smith.
Aniston and Pitt split in 2005, after which the Fight Club star set up home with Jolie - becoming a father to three adopted children, as well as having another three biological babies with the Tomb Raider actress.
And Aniston opened up once again in a TV interview with America’s chatshow queen Oprah Winfrey, admitting she decided to finally pass comment on Jolie’s behaviour because she wanted to be truthful.
When quizzed on the revelation by Winfrey on her U.S. daytime show, due to be aired on Thursday (13Nov08), Aniston explains, "I basically just answered it (Jolie question) as honestly as I could." But the star refused to bash her ex-partner, insisting she is proud of Pitt’s achievements since they decided to divorce.
She adds, "He’s done some amazing things in the last couple of years. So I just think he’s doing great."

Playboy boss HUGH HEFNER’s newly-engaged ex KENDRA WILKINSON will appear in a series of MARC ECKO lingerie ads in the new year (09).
Ironically, the shots for the campaign have been taken at the Palms resort’s Hugh Hefner Sky Villa.

Hollywood actress DARYL HANNAH is joining the fight against Japan’s whale hunters.
The star, who made her name playing a mermaid in hit 1984 film Splash, will travel on board an anti-whaling group ship to confront Japan’s whalers in the Antarctic.
Dozens of Japanese fishermen have been criticised for exploiting a controversial loophole in a 1986 whaling ban that allows "lethal research" to kill up to 1,000 whales every summer.
And Hannah is set to challenge them face-to-face when she joins the crew aboard the Sea Shepherd’s flagship vessel the Steve Irwin, named after the late Crocodile Hunter star.
The ship is due to set sail from Brisbane, Australia on December 1 (08).

ANNE HATHAWAY’s incarcerated ex-boyfriend RAFFAELLO FOLLIERI finds it difficult to adjust to life behind bars - he has to deal with rats, human excrement and overcrowded cells, according to his lawyer.
The 30-year-old Italian was sentenced to a four-and-a-half year prison spell after pleading guilty to 14 counts of wire fraud, conspiracy and money laundering last month (Oct08).
He was transferred to a federal lock-up in Brooklyn, New York after serving time on remand in Manhattan’s Metropolitan Correctional Center.
But the shamed businessman’s lawyer has asked Manhattan’s Federal Court Judge John Koeltl to return Follieri to the Correctional Center, insisting the living conditions of the Brooklyn prison are unbearable.
She reeled off a string of complaints, including rats, excrement in the shower room, and having to share a cell with 120 convicts, according to the New York Daily News.
In a letter to the court, Follieri’s lawyer Flora Edwards writes, "He says the stench is intolerable. Clearly no one should be subjected to these conditions." Follieri was arrested back in June (08) - two weeks after the actress ended their four-year romance - and accused of posing as the Vatican’s representative in America while duping investors into believing the church would sell property at a discount. Follieri admitted all the charges against him.

OZZY OSBOURNE is looking for a young boy with a penchant for swearing to play him in a new TV show based on his life.
The rocker is famed for his bad language, and is on the hunt for a seven-year-old to portray him in forthcoming series The Osbournes: Loud And Dangerous.
An insider on the show says, "Our mini Ozzy will need a Brummie (Birmingham) accent and dark hair. The scripts contain strong adult language that must be performed in a believable and compelling way." Show bosses are also searching for a girl to play his wife, rock matriarch Sharon Osbourne, at the same age.

A signed document which reportedly inspired the BEATLES hit ELEANOR RIGBY is set to go under the hammer to help raise funds for charity.
The sheet up for auction is the wage slip of a household maid named E. Rigby from Liverpool, England - the hometown of the Fab Four - dated from 1911.
An advocate for disabled children was allegedly sent the document after she appealed to the Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney to donate money to a children’s charity.
Annie Mawson, founder and chief executive of the U.K. charity Sunbeams Music Trust, is adamant McCartney sent the item so she could auction it for funds.
It will go on sale in London later this month (Nov08) along with music memorabilia including guitars owned by Sir Cliff Richard and Sex Pistols star Glen Matlock.
Eleanor Rigby was a sombre track released on the iconic foursome’s 1966 album Revolver.

GIRLS ALOUD star CHERYL COLE’s husband ASHLEY is suing two U.K. newspaper groups for printing allegations he cheated on his wife.
The soccer star is taking Britain’s Mirror Group Newspapers and News Group Newspapers to London’s High Court, claiming the reports were "unjustified intrusion" into his private life and breached his human rights.
The sportsman was accused of having an affair earlier this year (Jan08) - and the reports left him and his X Factor judge wife "embarrassed and gravely distressed", according to legal papers.
Cole claims that some of the information in the articles was "false and invented" - although he will not have to declare which parts were untrue in court.
Cole’s lawyers are seeking unspecified damages and will argue the articles breached his right to privacy under the European Convention on Human Rights.
Representatives for the Mirror Group Newspapers claim that the articles were justified because the couple repeatedly compromised their own privacy by giving interviews about their relationship.
The couple have since got their marriage back on track.

JENNIFER ANISTON is slowly patching things up with her estranged mother, after the pair spent years at loggerheads.
The former Friends star stopped talking to mum Nancy Dow when she published the 1999 book From Mother and Daughter to Friends: A Memoir.
Aniston refused any sort of relationship with her mother, until she split from ex-husband Brad Pitt in 2005 - when tensions between the pair cooled.
She tells U.S. Vogue magazine, "She’s changed. She’s humbled with age. She fell in love. At 73-years-old. I’m like, ‘No, no, no, no! I don’t want to hear how great the sex is’." And the actress reveals she often falls back on their shaky mother-daughter relationship for roles that involve her arguing with people: "That is so funny.
I just mimic my mother. That woman, when she got mad, was scary. I don’t know if I ever really get mad in real life."

ROD STEWART has confirmed that 70s supergroup THE FACES are set for a reunion, more than 30 years after the band split.
Earlier this week (beg10Nov08), website Raygigs.com reported that Stewart and other original members Ronnie Wood, Ian McLagan and Kenney Jones had booked a secret rehearsal slot next week (17Nov08) to see if the band still had what it takes to launch a string of reunion shows next year (09).
Scheduling problems between the members has hampered previous comeback plans - but Stewart has confirmed that this time it is a reformation is definitely on.
He says, "Yes, absolutely. We have our first rehearsal on Monday. It will be next summer and I am looking forward to it. It’ll be great." And Stewart is adamant that Wood’s recent break-up with wife of 23 years Jo won’t hold the star back from giving everything to the tour.
He adds, "Ronnie is up for it. I think he feels great. He is full of energy and very excited. We try not to mix our family problems with work. I’ll see him Monday." The band has previously reunited for a handful of one-off gigs - Wood and McLagan performed with Stewart at the Hollywood Bowl in 2004.
Stewart’s touring bass player is expected to complete the group, replacing late bassist Ronnie ‘Plonk’ Lane, who died in 1997.
