The AMERICAN IDOL contestant found dead outside PAULA ABDUL’s California home attempted suicide at the same spot a year ago, according to reports.
Police found the body of 30 year old Paula Godspeed, who auditioned for the reality show in 2006, in a car parked outside Abdul’s house on Tuesday night (11Nov08). She had suffered a drug overdose.
Reports suggest Godspeed was ‘obsessed’ with the American Idol Judge and was a regular visitor to Abdul’s Sherman Oaks neighbourhood.
And now cops tell TMZ.com they were called to the Abdul residence about a year ago, because Godspeed had overdosed in the same spot.
The 46-year-old singer, who was shooting a forthcoming American Idol episode when the incident took place, released a statement on Wednesday (12Nov08) expressing her sorrow.
It reads, "I am deeply shocked and saddened at what transpired yesterday. My heart and prayers go out to her family."

DANIEL CRAIG faces a battle royal at the box office, if he signs on to play WILLIAM THE CONQUEROR in a new film - OLIVER star MARK LESTER will play KING HAROLD in a rival movie.
The former child star will don the crown for a new movie, called 1066, which will also feature Alien Vs Predator star Ian Whyte. The $75 million (GBP50 million) movie will be shot in Wales next year (09).
The project, written by Robin Jacob and historical novelist Helen Hollick, is the culmination of over four years of historical research and script development.
Industry stunt legend Rocky Taylor, who has featured in 17 Bond movies, will take charge of the film’s stunt scenes.
Craig is said to be in negotiations to play Harold’s rival William in a rival epic, which will trace his life prior to his victory at the Battle of Hastings in 1066.

Former BAYWATCH babe CARMEN ELECTRA is rolling back the years for a new Playboy photoshoot.
Thirteen years after she first stripped for Hugh Hefner’s popular publication, the 36 year old will feature in a new eight-page pictorial in the forthcoming 55th anniversary issue of Playboy in January (09).
The edition will go on sale on 12 December (08).
Electra is currently engaged to former Korn rocker Rob Patterson.

MADONNA’s longtime pal DEBI MAZAR has become a crusader for the sleep deprived after suffering insomnia for years.
The Entourage actress is using her celebrity to urge others who suffer from sleeplessness to check out a new website, BedsideBriefings.com, which offers help to those who can’t get to sleep.
She tells Life & Style magazine, "My insomnia started in my mid-20s. It got to the point where my immune system would give out. It affected my concentration level and being able to perform on the job." Now 44, Mazar reveals she eventually got the help she needed from her doctor, but now there’s online help for insomnia sufferers.
She adds, "(The website) lists factors that affect sleep, consequences of lack of sleep and then tips on how to help you sleep."

U.S. reality TV star CHARLIE O’CONNELL is to follow brother JERRY down the aisle after talking marriage with the girl he picked on hit show THE BACHELOR.

So I watched his (Obama) speech online and then I texted Tin and I said, ‘I expect you to be in office by 2012′." The actress has rarely spoken about her ‘adopted’ son, but told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres she and her family bonded with Agaba over Christmas one year.
She explained, "In an organic fashion, he became part of the family. He’s a remarkable boy."

Funnyman ROB SCHNEIDER has pulled the plug on his hilarious DEUCE BIGALOW movies, insisting there won’t be a third film.
The comic played the unlikely gigolo in two movies, but now insists the franchise is "done".
He tells website MovieHole.net, "(I was) chasing a movie to chase a hit (with the first sequel)… It worked before, so we thought the sequel might work.
"If you’re lucky to capture a little bit of magic it’s like capturing lightning in a jug. To try and recapture that is foolish. That to me, artistically and financially - the studio made, like, a behemoth amount out of the first one, like $350 million - was such a good lesson.
"I was kinda relieved when it (the sequel) didn’t hit big, because it meant I’ll never have to do it again. I don’t want to be that guy."

Actor and Parkinson’s Disease sufferer MICHAEL J. FOX is hopeful U.S.
President-elect BARACK OBAMA will speed up the race for a cure for what ails him and millions of others.
Obama aides have hinted the Democrat will overturn strict restrictions on stem-cell research imposed by George W. Bush, the current occupant of the White House.
If medical researchers are allowed to experiment with embryonic stem cells, they believe they can make great strides towards finding cures for diseases like Parkinson’s, and helping people with spinal injuries walk again.
And Fox, who was diagnosed with the degenerative disorder in 1991, is confident. He says, "Hope is the buzzword. I think we’re all pretty confident that this will be an open time and a time to support science and medical research."

Actor TONY SIRICO is still smelling the sweet success of hit TV series THE SOPRANOS more than a year after network bosses killed the mob drama - he has launched his own Italian-inspired cologne.
Sirico, who played Paulie ‘Walnuts’ Gualtieri on the award-winning show, has unveiled his new musk, called Paolo Per Uomo.
The fragrance, which translates from Italian into Paul for Men, is advertised under the catchphrase ‘Make It Known You Mean Business’.
The 66-year-old Brooklyn-born actor tells the New York Post, "It’s a man’s cologne that women love." Explaining his inspiration for the scent, he adds, "I was always well-groomed. You could smell me coming." The new scent features a little cognac, according to the actor.

The soundtrack to hotly-anticipated movie TWILIGHT has ended AC/DC’s run at the top of the U.S. album charts.
The compilation of tracks by Muse and Linkin Park, among others, has debuted at number one after an opening sales week of 165,000 copies.
But the soundtrack only just beat out AC/DC’s Black Ice, which sold 160,000 copies.

BILLY BOB THORNTON’s turn as BAD SANTA has inspired a new festive rap album.
Jim Jones, Skull Gang and comedian Mike Epps have recorded tracks for new album A Tribute to Bad Santa.
Epps claims the new holiday album is full of "’Hood Christmas classics", and Jones adds, "This could be the coldest winter ever not due to the climate, but because of the recession… smoke a blunt, stay warm."

MILEY CYRUS is set to turn this year’s (08) American Music Awards into a birthday bash by signing up to perform at the prizegiving.
The pop sensation turns 16 on the same day as the AMAs (23Nov08) and many expected her to spend the day with family and friends - but she’s keen to work.
She’ll join Mariah Carey, Coldplay, Kanye West, Jonas Brothers, Alicia Keys, Rihanna and Taylor Swift, who are also performing at the the 36th annual AMAs.
Her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, is among the night’s presenters.
She says, "I am so excited to be able to perform live for my fans at the American Music Awards and celebrate my Sweet 16 too." The event will cap a big week for the teenager, who will lead the 82nd annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on 27 November (08).

Reunion rumours are swirling around 70s supergroup THE FACES again, more than 30 years after the band split.
Original members Rod Stewart, Ron Wood, Ian McLagan and Kenney Jones have reportedly booked a secret rehearsal next week (17Nov08) - and it’s such a top secret no one knows if its in London or America.
A source tells website Raygigs.com the quartet have set aside some time to jam together "just to check if they can remember the songs".
The insider states that if Stewart and company are pleased with the results, the Faces may announce live shows for next year (09).
But a source close to Stewart tells Billboard, "Nothing is definitive yet." There has been talk of a full Faces reunion tour for years, with Jones and McLagan fighting to get the rockers back together - but Rolling Stones star Wood and Stewart’s busy schedules have wrecked previous plans.
The band has reunited for a handful of one-offs - Wood and McLagan performed with Stewart at the Hollywood Bowl in 2004.
Stewart’s touring bass player is expected to complete the group, replacing late bassist Ronnie ‘Plonk’ Lane, who died in 1997.

ANGELINA JOLIE has denied reports she’s expecting her fourth biological child with partner BRAD PITT.
U.S. tabloid reports recently claimed the actress is pregnant again, just three months after she gave birth to twins Knox and Vivienne.
But her spokesperson, Geyer Kosinski, has refuted the claims, telling Usmagazine.com, "This is not true." In addition to the twins, the couple have three adopted children, Maddox, seven, Pax, four, and Zahara, three. They’re also parents to two-year-old biological daughter Shiloh.

MICHAEL JACKSON’s Neverland Ranch has been sold to an investment firm whose bosses will rename the property in a joint venture with the pop star, according to new reports.
Jackson prevented a foreclosure sale of the California estate when New York-based private equity group Colony Capital agreed to take over his $24.5 million (£16.1million) debt on the property in May (08).
According to Santa Barbara records, the title to Neverland was transferred on Monday (10Nov08) to a company called Sycamore Valley Ranch Company LLC.
Sycamore is a joint venture between Jackson and a division of Colony Capital - owner of numerous Las Vegas properties including Red Rock Country Club and the Las Vegas Hilton.
The sale has fuelled reports Jackson has signed on to perform his own headlining show in the city.
According to website TMZ.com, the property will be renamed Sycamore Valley Ranch in effort to revamp its image, tinged by the negative press surrounding Jackson’s child molestation trial, which ended in his acquittal in 2005.

HUGH JACKMAN had a very different career in mind when he was a child - the Hollywood star dreamed of becoming a minister.
The Australian actor was brought up in a religious family and considered taking the next step by dedicating his life to the Church.
But the X-Men star eventually realised his calling was to perform on an entirely different stage - and turned his hand to acting.
He says, "My father is very religious so I was brought up in the church. He was converted at a Billy Graham rally (crusade) and he used to take me to these rallies.
"And I do very vividly remember that about age 13 watching somebody on stage doing a talk and thinking, ‘I have a very clear feeling that one day I was going to be up on that stage.’ "And for about a year, I thought I was maybe going to be a minister. And then as I got older, I thought, ‘I think I just want to be up on that stage. Maybe not in that capacity but in some other capacity’."

Comedian SACHA BARON COHEN is set to shock movie audiences once again after lining-up a pair of porn stars to appear alongside his fictional alter-ego BRUNO in a new film.
The British funnyman is currently filming scenes for his new movie Brüno: Delicious Journeys Through America for the Purpose of Making Heterosexual Males Visibly Uncomfortable in the Presence of a Gay Foreigner in a Mesh T-Shirt - in which he plays a flamboyant Austrian fashion journalist.
And casting reached a climax when Cohen turned to former escort service director David Forest to find x-rated film actors for the new comedy, after being rejected by more conservative stars, unwilling to shoot full-frontal nude scenes.
Adult film stars Paul Barba and John Martel were eventually hired for the roles.
Forest tells the New York Daily News, "We auditioned about 10 actors.
"There’s a scene where Bruno comes to the hotel with some guys
. They’re all trying to get Bruno to come upstairs for an orgy
. Five guys are there
. Two of them are my guys
. Bruno apparently doesn’t want to join the party, but he watches through the window
. I’m told it’s hilarious."
