VOIGHT KNEW HE’D HAVE TWO KIDS WITH BERTRAND
Movie star JON VOIGHT knew he would have two children with his late ex-wife MARCHELINE BERTRAND as soon as he met the exotic beauty.
The Deliverance star was immediately smitten with the actress/producer after a pal introduced them and they arranged to meet at the Beverly Hills Hotel and he had a flash of their life together, which would produce Angelina Jolie and James Haven.
He tells Men’s Journal magazine, "We had raspberries and cream at the Beverly Hills Hotel. I was quite taken with her (Bertrand) and in the conversation I said, ‘You know, I could have two children with you.’ The words just came out of my mouth.
"But she didn’t blink, and neither did I. Sure enough, I had two children with that gal." Voight and Bertrand were married from 1971 to 1978.
Voight admits his divorce and "the ramifications it had on the family" remains his greatest regret.
Bertrand died after a battle with ovarian cancer last year (Jan07).
