Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:12 pm

LATEST: British actress SIENNA MILLER has confirmed her split from married oil heir and actor BALTHAZAR GETTY - criticising the media for making relationships in the spotlight too difficult.
The Alfie star has been romantically linked to Getty since the summer (08) when they were spotted together in Prague in the Czech Republic, on the set of Miller’s new movie GI Joe. But the pair was rumoured to have split earlier this month (Nov08).
The romance sparked a media frenzy and Miller is convinced that the press interest in their relationship added to their problems.

WINSLET WAS ‘MISLED’ OVER FUR PHOTOS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:12 pm

British actress KATE WINSLET has denied she knowingly wore fur for a recent photoshoot with Vanity Fair magazine - insisting she thought the garment was fake.
The Titanic star stripped off for a Catherine Deneuve-inspired shoot, posing provocatively on a sofa wearing nothing but stockings and high heels, with the grey fur throw draped across her shoulders.
Winslet was subsequently criticised by animal rights campaigners, who accuse the actress of glamorising the wearing of real pelts.
But Winslet insists she didn’t know the garment was made of genuine fox fur.
Her spokeswoman says, "She thought it was false. There was apparently false fur there and real fur there. And she definitely understood it was false. Kate never wears fur. She’s very firm on that." A representative for Vanity Fair magazine adds, "The fur used in the photograph was real. We thought Miss Winslet was aware of this and we’re sorry for the miscommunication."

MADONNA DENIES LATE-NIGHT STUDIO SESSIONS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:09 pm

MADONNA’s representative has hit back at reports the pop superstar is keeping her New York neighbours up all night with her noisy studio sessions, insisting the singer enjoys early bed times.
Fellow residents at Harperley Hall, where the Material Girl purchased a second apartment in 2007, have allegedly been complaining about the noise level coming from her seventh floor residence, which she has converted into a recording studio.
They claim the singer has been practising into the early hours in preparation for her ongoing Sticky + Sweet tour.
A source tells the New York Daily News, "They asked her for a schedule of when she would practice, but she hasn’t adhered to it.
"The music is playing at all hours of the night, and the noise from the drums and the bass blares through the walls." But Madonna’s spokesperson has refuted the allegations, dismissing the claims as false.
The rep says, "Madonna does not stay up till all hours of the night… so I can’t imagine there is any validity to this story. She needs her rest. She’s a working girl, you know."

SIMPSON LOSES CONVICTION APPEAL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:03 pm

O.J. SIMPSON has lost his bid for a retrial in relation to kidnapping and armed robbery charges after a Nevada judge dismissed his lawyer’s allegation of jury misconduct.
Simpson was found guilty on all 12 counts on 3 October (08), stemming from a heist he took part in at the Palace Station Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas last year (Sep07).
The verdict came 13 years to the day since Simpson was acquitted of the double murder of his wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman.
He and his co-defendant Clarence Stewart filed an appeal against their convictions, with one motion objecting to the selection of Paul Connelly as jury foreman. Their attorneys claimed Connelly had been dismissed from a previous job after marking a racially disparaging comment, and alleged that his attitude could have impaired his judgement in the trial.
Stewart’s lawyer Brent Bryson told Clark County District Court on Friday (07Nov08), "That’s problematic for our clients, who are black." Bryson further alleged that Connelly had told the media after the pair’s conviction that he thought former American football star Simpson should have been imprisoned for the 1994 killings of Brown Simpson and Goldman. Connelly has since claimed his comments were taken out of context.
But during the hearing, Judge Jackie Glass disagreed with the allegations, telling Bryson, and Simpson’s lawyer Yale Galanter, "I find that nothing has risen to a level of juror misconduct.
"They face life sentences, mandatory prison. Your motions are being denied." Simpson, 61, and Stewart are currently being held in a Las Vegas jail until sentencing on 5 December (08).

HARRIS AND ADAMS HONOURED AS STARS OF THE YEAR

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:03 pm

Movie stars ED HARRIS and AMY ADAMS were honoured at the Motion Picture Club Star of The Year Awards on Thursday night (06Nov08) for their work in APPALOOSA and DOUBT respectively.
Harris’ Pollock co-star, Marcia Gay Harden, presented the Director of the Year prize to Harris for Appaloosa, while Adams claimed the Star of The Year award.
In handing over the coveted honour to Harris in New York, Gay Harden recalled working with the gruff actor/director in Pollock - and how he slammed a chair to the floor to evoke emotion from the actress.
She told the audience at the prizegiving, "There was a scene where Pollock wants children and I don’t and he throws a glass at the radio and the line is, ‘I’m not bringing another baby into that.’ "I was boring in the scene and kind of stale and he kept asking me to say the line over and over again. After five times I just wasn’t there. He gets a chair and he’s behind the camera and starts slamming the chair on the floor and he’s yelling, ‘Say it again, say it again!’ "The crew was really afraid. When we were done the girls in the prop room were like, ‘Do you want to report it?’ My body came alive and I said the line but that’s not the take we chose! But he did help me come alive in that moment." And she publicly thanked Harris for helping her land a role in Clint Eastwood’s Space Cowboys.
She added, "I came to know that he’s this incredibly loyal friend because on the film Pollock I was up for a role in Clint Eastwood’s Space Cowboy. I kept asking Ed, ‘Please call him, please call him.’ So he called Clint and this is all I heard from Ed: ‘Hey Clint, how ya doin’? I hear you want to work with Marcia Gay Harden. I just want to say she’s a good girl.’ The next day I got the part!"

The Bad Boy Records boss turned 39 on Tuesday (04Nov08) but decided to turn his party into a joint celebration to mark Barack Obama becoming the new U.S.

A source tells the publication, "He was given a budget of $7,000 and 12 hours to create an all-white decor, including 1,000 white roses, blow-ups (large pictures) of Diddy and Barack Obama, and $2,000 (£1,270) of white fabric.
"Diddy declared it dreadful and went into a major hissy fit, screaming, ‘Show me the receipts!’ and ‘Get the money back!’ to his assistant. "Then he began ripping the fabric off the walls saying he hated it. He berated the poor young decorator to the point that the guy gave back $2,000 of the money he had spent."
