Rockers BON JOVI have been slapped with a lawsuit by a British woman who alleges she was seriously injured when a member of their entourage ran her over during a 2006 gig in the U.K.
The Livin’ On A Prayer hitmakers played at Milton Keynes’ National Bowl in south east England two years ago, when Sally Allen, a security supervisor at the venue, claims the incident took place.
In legal papers filed at Oxford County Court, 37-year-old Allen claims she suffered a fractured knee, ligament damage and severe internal injuries when she was "deliberately" run over by Kevin McDonnell in a golf buggy. Allen was working to prevent backstage access after a fire broke out in the VIP area when she was approached by McDonnell, a member of Bon Jovi’s personal security team.
According to the lawsuit, McDonnell told Allen, "I don’t care about your emergency situation. Get out of my way, you f**king whore. Do you know who I am? You can’t f**king stop me." She claims he then drove directly towards her and ran over her right leg, leaving her unable to work.
Allen is suing Bon Jovi and their security company for trespass to the person and negligence. She is seeking $405,000 (£250,000) in compensation and damages.
The band has denied any involvement in the incident and McDonnell is no longer thought to be working with the group.
In a statement, Bon Jovi say: Mrs Allen’s claim concerns injuries she states occurred at a Bon Jovi show.
"None of the band members were present when she blocked the pathway of a crew member, nor were they aware of any disturbance at the time.
"Mrs Allen’s claim in England follows a claim she attempted to file in the United States, which was rejected. As English proceedings are ongoing, we are not in a position to comment further."

Rap superstar LIL WAYNE has been targetted in a hoax news report alleging the LOLLIPOP hitmaker had been shot dead in a dispute between rival gangs.
The rapper, 26, was alleged to have died in the early hours of Saturday (01Nov08) following a gig in his native New Orleans, Louisiana, after becoming involved in a fight between members of the notorious Los Angeles gangs Bloods and Crips.
A webpage made to look like the BBC news site claimed Lil Wayne, real name Dwayne Carter, Jr., was shot six times with a semi automatic 9mm Smith & Wesson handgun.
It’s not the first time Lil Wayne has been the subject of a vicious, false rumour - last year (07) it was wrongly claimed that his then-seven-year-old daughter Reginae had been killed in a car accident.
A representative for the star could not be reached for comment as WENN went to press.

CELINE DION has been forced to cancel a gig in Chicago, Illinois on Tuesday (04Nov08) due to a sinus infection.
The My Heart Will Go On star was slated to appear at the city’s United Center but was ordered by doctors to scrap the show in order to recover, according to The Chicago Sun-Times.
The singer, who is currently on her Taking Chances world tour, has rescheduled the concert for December (08).
It’s not the first time the star has had to pull a show citing illness this year (08) - she cancelled a string of dates in Australia in March after suffering from severe throat problems.

New JAMES BOND movie QUANTUM OF SOLACE has shot to the top of the international box office chart, taking $38.6 million (£23.8 million) in its opening weekend.
The action thriller, starring Daniel Craig, thrashed the competition in its first few days on release - in the U.K. market alone, it took $25.3 million (£15.6 million) upon its debut.
High School Musical 3: Senior Year is in second place with $25.9 million (£15.98 million) in 32 markets, while animated adventure Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa scooped $17.8 million (£10.98 million) in a limited number of cinemas to take third place.
Leonardo DiCaprio’s Body of Lies is at four with takings of $10.8 million (£6.6 million), and Burn After Reading rounds out the top five with $6.7 million (£4.1 million).

Movie hardman JEAN-CLAUDE VAN DAMME has reportedly cancelled promotional appearances for his new movie JCVD - so he can look after his sick puppy.
The actor is said to have recently adopted seven dogs from Bangkok, Thailand - and one of the pups is in a coma, according to the New York Post’s gossip column Page Six.
And the star has had to pull out of all promotional gigs for JCVD, a spoof documentary in which he plays himself, in order to remain in Thailand to look after the ill pooch.

Hundreds of mourners remembered JENNIFER HUDSON’s late mother, brother and nephew at a memorial service on Sunday (02Nov08), where the star was hailed as the "true leader" of her family.
The singer/actress’ mum, Darnell Donerson, and her brother, Jason Hudson, were found shot to death at their home in Chicago, Illinois on 24 October (08), while the body of seven-year-old Julian King was discovered three days later in an abandoned car in the city.
Hudson was not in attendance at her childhood church, Pleasant Gift Memorial Baptist, where her cousin Shari Sweat told those gathered that Donerson had voted just before she was fatally shot, reports the New York Daily News.
Sweat said, "Doll refused to be left out of this historical moment in this nation, and before she left these shores she cast her vote." King’s teacher Carmen Williams of Gunsaulus Scholastic Academy remembered her pupil as a smart boy who liked to tell jokes, while his classmate lamented that he wouldn’t "get to be president of the United States".
Chicago city official Sean Howard told the congregation, "When Jennifer and her family walked in, Jennifer was a pillar in that room. You have a true leader in your family in Jennifer." Hudson and her sister Julia, the boy’s mother and estranged wife of murder suspect William Balfour, are expected at the private funeral service on Monday (03Nov08).

An inquest into the death of a special effects technician who was killed on the set of the latest BATMAN movie is due to begin in November (08).
Conway Wickliffe lost his life in a stunt accident in September 2007 on the set of The Dark Knight after the truck carrying his camera platform collided with a tree.
New Zealand native Wickliffe, who was reportedly filming a Batmobile sequence at the time, died at the scene.
According to the BBC, the inquest into the cause of the incident will be held at Woking Coroner’s Court in Surrey, England - close to where the film was shot.
Movie bosses paid tribute to Wickliffe and the film’s late star Heath Ledger - who died from an overdose in January (08) - with a special dedication to the tragic pair at the end of the film, which was released in the summer (08).

Mourning star JENNIFER HUDSON is so overcome with grief following the murder of three family members, she has been unable to go inside the home where the killings took place.
The singer/actress’ mum, Darnell Donerson, and her brother, Jason Hudson, were found dead at their home in Chicago, Illinois on 24 October (08), while the body of her nephew Julian King, seven, was discovered three days later in an abandoned car in the city.
And the star is so devastated by the loss, she cannot bear to return to the scene of the slayings, according to her mentor Andre Leon Talley.
Talley, Vogue’s editor-at-large, tells the New York Daily News, "I believe she went back just once, to the gate, but didn’t go inside. Right now she’s at an undisclosed location." And Talley, 58, is adamant Hudson will one day pull through the tragedy.
He adds, "We’ve talked constantly. I’ve sent her many e-mails; I’ve sent her my support and so has Anna Wintour (U.S. Vogue editor-in-chief). And she just says thank you, thank you, thank you.
"She wants everyone, all her fans, to know how much their support has meant to her. And she’s going to be all right. Jennifer has faith in God. They’re just praying, every day, every minute, for the strength to get through this.
And she will - she’s a very strong girl." Police are currently quizzing William Balfour, the estranged husband of Hudson’s sister Julia, over the slayings, but authorities have not filed any charges against him.

French techno DJ DIDIER SINCLAIR has died. He was 43.
Sinclair died in Paris, France on Thursday (30Oct08) after a struggle against an unspecified illness, according to his spokesperson.
The DJ shot to fame in 1982 when he started hosting a show on French youth radio station NRJ.
He started to release his own music in 1999, scoring a hit with Groove2me and following it up with international club smash Lovely Flight.
Sinclair went on to have a successful career as a club DJ throughout Europe, releasing his last LP Do You Speak in April (08).

Singer ANGIE STONE is ensuring U.S. senior citizens cast their vote in the forthcoming presidential elections by driving them herself to the voting polls on Election Day.
The soul star is teaming up with a limousine company to provide elderly voters in Georgia with transportation to their local ballot boxes on Tuesday (04Nov08).
And she is urging her fellow Americans to pitch in and do the same.
In a statement, the star says: "I feel it is my civic duty to help those who are less fortunate or don’t have the resources to get to the polls. I am trying to aid them in having a voice on one of the most historical election days ever.
I implore others to do the same… We can change our communities one block at a time."

British singer LEONA LEWIS hopes she never reaches superstar status - because she wants to be able to lead a "normal life".
The Bleeding Love hitmaker insists she doesn’t envy the fame of singers like Mariah Carey and Madonna, because she would find such a high level of fame too disruptive.
She says, "I don’t know if I’d like to be that big. I like to lead a relatively normal life. I like the normality of being able to go to the shops, go out with my friends." But Lewis admits that there are some perks to being a major star.
She adds, "I love the way huge stars like that have been able to connect with so many people and make so many albums of great music, so that’s what I want as well. But I think it’s a balance. I don’t want to go off the rails."

TAKE THAT star GARY BARLOW has assembled a gang of celebrity pals, including GIRLS ALOUD singers CHERYL COLE and KIMBERLEY WALSH, to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in a bid to raise money for charity.
The British boyband frontman has recruited stars like Boyzone singer Ronan Keating to scale the 19,340-foot (5,894 metre) peak in Tanzania in February (09) for the U.K. charity Comic Relief.
Barlow says, "I went to Africa for Comic Relief 18 months ago and the images from that trip have stayed with me and made me want to do something big to make a difference and raise money. The other people on the climb feel similarly, so it made sense to ask them to join me.
"I have chosen the people I want to be stuck on the side of a mountain with, even if we are the least likely you would expect to find there. We are all nervous and are trying to fit training into our schedules, but the team spirit, enthusiasm and commitment are incredible." And Walsh insists she didn’t hesitate when she was approached by her fellow pop star to take on the daunting challenge.
She adds, "Since visiting Africa with Comic Relief a year ago, I haven’t been able to forget how easy it is for someone in my position to help change the lives of poor and vulnerable people by raising money.
"When Gary approached me and Cheryl about doing the climb, I didn’t think twice. It was only after I put the phone down that I wondered what we’d signed up for."

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN made an emotional plea to American voters at his final rally in support of U.S. presidential hopeful BARACK OBAMA on Sunday (02Nov08) night - telling the 80,000-strong crowd the politician would "give them their America back".
The Dancing In The Dark legend is a staunch supporter of the Democrat leader, and has played a string of free U.S. gigs to rouse support for Obama, notably taking to the stage with Billy Joel in October (08) to raise funds for his campaign to get to the White House.
And two nights before Americans made their choice for President known at the ballot box, Springsteen pulled out all the stops in Ohio to ensure Obama’s campaign didn’t lose any ground in its final leg.
The rocker thrilled fellow Democrats with a selection of sing-along tracks including folk favourite This Land is Your Land and his own song The Rising which is the Obama campaign’s official tune.
And Springsteen moved the crowd to tears, telling them the inspirational politician will restore America back to its best.
He told the revellers, "So I don’t know about you, but I want my country back, I want my dream back, I want my America back.
"Our social contract has been shredded. We’re going to need all the angels we can get. Senator Obama’s efforts to build a house big enough for all our dreams." Springsteen was joined on-stage by Obama, his wife Michelle and their two young daughters for the set’s finale.

KURT RUSSELL has hit out at actors who complain about the difficulty of their profession - insisting you don’t have to be talented to be in movies.
The Backdraft star is convinced that being in the film industry is easy - and actors who take their "art" too seriously are in the wrong job.
He says, "To go on about acting as art is ridiculous. You don’t have to be gifted just to hit a mark and a line. As far as I’m concerned that’s 90 per cent of the job. Anyone who finds acting difficult just shouldn’t be doing it."

DANIEL CRAIG’s mother feared her son would end up as a failed actor when he quit school to pursue a career as a thespian.
The James Bond star walked away from his education 16, missing out on the chance to go to university - much to the disappointment of his mother, Carol, who wanted him to gain some qualifications.
She says, "It must have been hard for him. He knew I had my heart set on university for him. I knew he was clever enough to go, so giving up his A-Levels (exams) wasn’t an easy decision. I didn’t want this to be a kind of whim. I knew he had potential. I didn’t want to see it wasted." But Carol admits that she is proud that her son has now achieved stardom by landing the role of 007.
She adds, "I knew in my heart he would make it, but you worry as a mother."

Hollywood actor WILL SMITH is determined to fulfil his promise to star in a Bollywood movie - he has been taking advice from SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE director DANNY BOYLE.
Boyle turned his hand to making a film in India with his latest project, which was shot in Mumbai.
And the moviemaker is convinced that Smith is serious about trying his luck in a different genre of pictures - because the Independence Day star made several trips to visit him onset in India.
Boyle says, "While we were filming there, Will Smith came over twice. There’s a massive coming together of Bollywood and Hollywood. It’ll only take one person to bring them together and it will be huge." Pop singer KYLIE MINOGUE is planning a new career as a comedy actress.
The Spinning Around hitmaker rose to fame in Australian day-time soap opera Neighbours and has returned to her thespian roots several times throughout her career, with a cameo role in 2001’s Moulin Rouge! and on the small screen in a Dr. Who Christmas special last year (07).
Minogue was recently tapped to appear in a new movie by The Edge of Love director John Maybury and now admits she might go back to acting full time.
She says, "I started out as an actress and I thought if I was lucky that would be my career. Then I started singing and I was in that weird space where people say ‘You can’t be a singer, you’re an actress.’ Then they’re saying, ‘Well you’re a singer, you can’t be an actress.’ "I hate that! If you’re creative, there’s no reason you shouldn’t work in different mediums.
"Recording and being a performer, thankfully that’s gone really well, but now I’m starting to think again about acting." And Minogue is convinced she has found her niche in comedy.
She adds, "It’s so much fun. It’s where I come from so I’m very comfortable to go back to that. It’s not that well known that I’m funny, but I am funny.
