Movie mogul TYLER PERRY has brushed off reports he demands co-workers to call him by his last name if they want a response - insisting the moniker is used by the cast and crew out of "respect".
The 39-year-old actor/director has come under fire for his inflated ego on the set of his U.S. TV sitcom Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, created and produced by the star since 2006.
A source tells the New York Post: "Tyler makes everyone on his staff - the crew and cast - call him ‘Mr. Perry’ to his face. He won’t respond to anyone who calls him Tyler." But his spokesperson insists the reports are made up, adding: "That’s totally preposterous. I call him Tyler. Some people do call him ‘Mr. Perry,’ but it’s out of respect."

Funnyman MIKE MYERS realised the power of his infamous impersonations - after a recent performance for sick children left him "crying like a baby".
The comedic actor visited the Rusk Institute in The Bronx, New York on Thursday (23Oct08) with theatre charity group Only Make Believe, which puts on plays for young children in hospitals and care facilities.
Myers entertained his wide-eyed audience with voices from his hit movies Shrek and Austin Powers.
He tells People.com: "I watched kids of differing physical abilities and different backgrounds from around the world lose themselves in imagination and make believe. And I was moved to tears. All I can tell you is that I cried like a baby. I couldn’t stop crying."

LATEST: British Prime Minister GORDON BROWN has blasted comedian RUSSELL BRAND over his prank phone calls to FAWLTY TOWERS legend ANDREW SACHS.
More than 10,000 people are now said to have lodged complaints against Brand and U.K. chatshow host Jonathan Ross over the scandal.
The pair provoked outrage by leaving a series of crude phone messages for Sachs, in which they claimed Brand had slept with the actor’s granddaughter Georgina.
Brand has since apologised for the stunt, which happened on-air during his show on BBC Radio 2 on 18 October (08).
But pressure is mounting for the BBC to take action against the pair - and the British Prime Minister has now waded into the row, telling reporters the broadcasting watchdog Ofcom is investigating the incident.
Brown says, "This is clearly inappropriate and unacceptable behaviour, as is now widely recognised. Ofcom have said they will investigate the matter and it is for the BBC, the BBC Trust and Ofcom to take any appropriate action."

THE DARK KNIGHT director CHRISTOPHER NOLAN has doubts over the next BATMAN movie - because the third film in the franchise may be too difficult to make.
Nolan took over shooting the comic book adaptations with 2005’s Batman Begins and followed it up with 2008 hit The Dark Knight.
But the moviemaker is unsure whether he will put his name to the next sequel - because films movies are notoriously tricky.
He tells the Los Angeles Times, "On a more superficial level, I have to ask the question: ‘How many good third movies in a franchise can people name?’ At the same time, in taking on the second one, we had the challenge of trying to make a great second movie, and there haven’t been too many of those either." But Nolan refuses to rule out his involvement completely, adding: "Is there a story that’s going to keep me emotionally invested for the couple of years that it will take to make another one? That’s the overriding question. It’s all about the story really. If the story is there, everything is possible.”

King of Rock ELVIS PRESLEY ‘worked out’ by eating pizza, motionless on an exercise bike.
The legendary singer piled on the pounds towards the end of his career, through compulsive eating and overuse of prescription drugs. And his ‘exercise routine’ to battle his bulging wasteline, only made him fatter - according to Elvis’ singer pal Tom Jones.
Jones tells Uncut magazine, "I was great friends with him. But we never worked out together. As time went on and he started putting on weight, instead of regarding it as the problem it was, he started having fun with it.
"I saw him do it a few times, sitting on his exercise bike eating a pizza. We were in his suite at the Hilton in Vegas. He used to sit on it and put his feet on it but not touch the handlebars and say, ‘Are you still working out, Tom? Me too, Look,’ as he sat with his belly poking out and popped another devilled egg into his mouth."

Rap star COOLIO is glad he took part in his new U.S. reality TV show - because he discovered how many secrets his kids have been keeping from him.
The Gangsta’s Paradise hitmaker is the star of Coolio’s Rules - which follows him as he tries to juggle his career as a musician, his catering business and love life with being a single parent of four.
And he’s dug up dirt on 20-year-olds Artisha and Brandi, Artis, 18, and Jackie, 15, since the cameras have been turned on his family.
He tells the New York Daily News: "I did not know that my youngest daughter was so camera-shy and I did not know she was thinking about dating boys. LATEST: LED ZEPPELIN’s former promoter has branded the legendary rock band’s decision to tour without frontman ROBERT PLANT "pointless".
The Kashmir hitmakers have confirmed they are to embark on a world tour and record a new album without Plant, and are currently seeking a replacement singer.
But Harvey Goldsmith, who promoted the band during their 1970s heyday, as well as their one-off reunion last year (07), is dubious about trying to resurrect the group without Plant.
He says, "I certainly don’t think they should do a big tour because I can’t see the point of it. I just think it’s a lot of talk, I think it’s wishful thinking.
"I think some of the band really want to go out and do it and other parts of the band need to understand why they’re doing it, and if there’s no compelling reason to do it, then they shouldn’t do it. I think that there is an opportunity for them to go out and present themselves. I don’t think a long rambling tour is the answer as Led Zeppelin." And Goldsmith insists that if the new tour does go ahead, the rockers are likely to use a different name.
He adds, "I doubt it will be called Led Zeppelin."

Rockers SLIPKNOT have scrapped their upcoming concert in Israel - blaming "personal and family conflicts" for the cancellation.
The nine-strong band - known for their elaborate on-stage ‘death-masks’ were due to play in the country’s capital, Tel Aviv, on 2 November (08).
But now the gig has been cancelled by the group "as a result of sudden personal and family conflicts", according to Blabbermouth.net.
No other details about the decision were available as WENN went to press.
Officials in the country are notoriously strict about granting musicians permission to play there.
Sir Paul McCartney staged a special concert in Tel Aviv in September (08), four decades after the Beatles were banned from the country for being too controversial.

Country singer JO DEE MESSINA is expecting her first child with husband CHRIS DEFFENBAUGH - a baby boy due in January (09).
The 38-year-old and Deffenbaugh, 28, have managed to keep her big news secret from the world for six months.
She says, "I am in my third trimester now. We knew we wanted to have kids, but we just said, ‘Whenever it happens, it happens.’ And it happened! "We were both surprised at first. It’s such a lifestyle change. But then we’re like, ‘Wow, we’re going to be parents!’" The star has stayed so fit through her pregnancy - she plans to run a five-mile race on Thanksgiving Day (27Nov08). She says, "I’ll be eight months pregnant and running. It should be interesting!"

Jury selection has begun in the trial of actor KEANU REEVES after a paparazzo accused him of negligence behind the wheel.
Photographer Alison Silva filed suit against Reeves claiming the Speed actor knocked him to the ground in March 2007 with his black Porsche car.
Silva alleges the ordeal left him out of work for months, cost him $40,000 (£25,885) in medical bills to treat his injuries, and also claims he now needs $50,000 (£32,356) of bone graft surgery on his left wrist.
Reeves’ lawyer, Alfred Gerisch, insists the photographer tripped over his own feet, telling the court the case is one of "overly aggressive paparazzi bent on getting a photograph of a celebrity at any cost, even if it puts the paparazzo’s own safety at risk".
Both Reeves and Silva are expected to testify in the estimated five-day trial.

Television producer ERNEST ‘E.’ ROGER MUIR has died of a stroke. He was 89.
He passed away on Thursday (23Oct08) near his home in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire.
Muir helped create and was executive producer of popular 1950s series The Howdy Doody Show - a pioneering children’s TV programme starring Howdy, a freckle-faced puppet.
After its 13-year run, Muir served as co-producer of the show’s syndicated version, The New Howdy Doody Show, in 1976 and 1977.
He also produced several other successful series, including Concentration, The Newlywed Game and Pay Cards through his own production company with co-producer Nick Nicholson.
Muir is survived by his second wife, Barbara Horn-Muir, five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Actress ASHLEY OLSEN is convinced she has below average social skills.
The 22-year-old revealed her deepest fears in a questionnaire printed in her new coffee table book, penned with twin sister Mary-Kate.
And Olsen admits her crippling shyness often holds her back and makes her scared about interacting with others - listing the affliction as her "principal defect".
She explains: "I’m really not great with crowds or big groups or public speaking. I just get very anxious. It’s just something about being in front of that many people. I guess I black out - I never really remember how an interview went." But Olsen is pleased to be finally conquering her fears after seeking help.
She adds, "You work with it. It gets easier. I haven’t done press in so long."

All four JONAS BROTHERS are set to appear in a new movie.
Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas, who all starred in hit Disney movie Camp Rock, will be joined by their younger brother Frankie who will make his big screen debut in Walter the Farting Dog.
The brothers will play musicians who are asked to care for a fat dog with severe flatulence, according to People.com.
The film, based on a best-selling series of books, is scheduled to begin shooting in spring 2009 and will reportedly be directed by The Farrelly brothers, whose credits include 1998’s There’s Something About Mary.
The Jonas Brothers are also set to star in their own TV show titled J.O.N.A.S.

DUSTIN HOFFMAN, CLINT EASTWOOD and JOSH BROLIN were among the stars honoured at this year’s (08) Hollywood Film Festival Awards Gala in Los Angeles.
The celebrity-studded event in Beverly Hills on Monday (27Oct08) night saw Hoffman receive the Hollywood Career Achievement Award. Brolin was named Actor of the Year and Eastwood was handed the Director of the Year prize by his Changeling star Angelina Jolie, who made a surprise appearance at the ceremony to honour the Dirty Harry legend.
Ben Stiller was another winner at the gala, taking home the Comedy of the Year Award, while Pineapple Express star James Franco picked up the Breakthrough Actor Award.
British star Kristin Scott Thomas took home the Actress of the Year Award for her French film I’ve Loved You So Long, and Twilight’s Robert Pattinson accepted the New Hollywood Award.
Jennifer Hudson, who is currently in mourning following the fatal shooting of her mother, brother and nephew on Friday (24Oct08), was honoured along with Queen Latifah, Dakota Fanning and Sophie Okonedo with the Ensemble Acting of the Year Award for The Secret Life Of Bees.

Acclaimed Hollywood acting teacher MILTON KATSELAS, whose students included GENE HACKMAN, GEORGE CLOONEY and MICHELLE PFEIFFER, has died at the age of 75.
Katselas enjoyed a successful theatre, TV and movie directing career; winning a 1969 Tony nomination for his Broadway production of Butterflies are Free, and going on to make a film version starring Goldie Hawn.
But he is most famous as the charismatic founder of the Beverly Hills Playhouse acting school, which he opened in 1978.
Alec Baldwin, Patrick Swayze and Anne Archer also owe their careers to Katselas, having studied at the Playhouse.
Baldwin once said of his former tutor, "Milton Katselas is everything you need in a professional acting teacher. Smart and opinionated. Creative and caring. But most of all, Katselas is clear. Of all the teachers I worked with, Katselas was the most clear in his evaluations." Katselas died on Friday (24Oct08), from heart failure, at Los Angeles Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Porn moviemaker Gerard Damiano has died. He was 80.
The director of 1972 adult movie Deep Throat passed away in Miami, Florida after suffering from a stroke last month (Sep08).
The movie was the first pornographic picture to be shown in cinemas and made an estimated $600 million (£382 million).
His son, Gerard Damiano Jr, says, "He was a filmmaker and an artist and we thought of him as such.
"Even though we weren’t allowed to see his movies, we knew he was a moviemaker and we were proud of that."

Rockers FALL OUT BOY are aiming to set a new world record - for completing the most ever radio interviews in a single day.
The Dance, Dance hitmakers are promoting their new album Folie a Deux, which is due to hit shops in December (08).
And to commemorate the LP’s release, bandmembers Pete Wentz and Patrick Stump will try to break the current Guinness World Record of 57 radio station chats in 24 hours.

BLACK EYED PEAS star FERGIE is on a mission to gain weight for her role in upcoming movie-musical NINE.
The singer - real name Stacy Ferguson - landed the role of a prostitute called Saraghina in the new picture, alongside a star-studded cast including Daniel Day-Lewis, Nicole Kidman, Judi Dench, Kate Hudson and Penelope Cruz.
The actors are currently rehearsing in Britain before shooting starts, and Fergie admits that spending time in London is helping her bulk up - as she has a penchant for English food.
She says, "I actually love (British food). I was actually told to gain weight for the film so I’ve been eating everything - anything and everything. That’s why I am covering up except for my legs because they never gain weight and that’s the only part that never changes but everything else is covered."
