QUANTUM OF SOLACE director MARC FORSTER has confessed AMY WINEHOUSE was his top choice for the new JAMES BOND theme.
JACK WHITE and ALICIA KEYS eventually landed the job of writing and recording the coveted film theme, but Forster admits he always favoured Britain’s troubled Rehab singer.
He tells WENN, "Amy Winehouse always wanted to write the song when I got involved and I felt that was a great idea because she’s also from England, like Bond, and I felt she is such an interesting artist.
"Unfortunately she wasn’t able to write the song and when I heard that Jack White was really into Bond movies, I was thrilled; I’m a big fan of his and The White Stripes
. It was his idea to have this duet with Alicia Keys." Winehouse actually started work on her Bond song with superproducer Mark Ronson, but the track was never completed.
Forster is now more than happy with the White/Keys tune, Another Way To Die: "It’s not your traditional Bond song and that’s what I liked about it because this is not your traditional Bond movie."

LATEST: HEIDI KLUM has shot the new season of her hit TV fashion contest PROJECT RUNWAY without knowing when or if the series will air.
Network bosses at U.S. TV network Bravo have blocked plans for the sixth season of the programme to air elsewhere in 2009, and producers don’t want the show to air on Bravo.
Last month (Sep08), a New York judge has blocked the show’s move to America’s Lifetime network, claiming producers at The Weinstein Company violated Bravo bosses’ right of first refusal to future cycles of Project Runway when choosing to switch networks earlier this year (08).
Eva Longoria Parker and Lindsay Lohan have already shot guest spots on the new show, according to reports, but Klum has no idea when it will air.
She says, "We’ve shot the whole season already, we don’t know what will happen, so we’re kind of waiting to hear what the bigwigs have to say on what’s gonna happen with this battle. I just hope we air."

The top secret sessions are taking place at the Sunset Marquis’ Night Bird Studio, according to celebrity magazine Life & Style.
A source tells the publication, "It’s going to be for a special DVD project.

Redheaded actress DEBRA MESSING has refused to return to her natural hair colour - because casting directors ignored her as a brunette.
The former Will & Grace star blended in with the legions of struggling actresses desperate for work in Hollywood before she was cast in her first feature film in 1995.
And she is convinced a botched attempt to dye her hair blonde for the role is what really launched her career.
She says, "My first movie was A Walk in the Clouds with Keanu Reeves and they wanted me to be a 1940s harlot and they said, ‘We want you to be blonde.’ And I said, ‘OK, I’m an Eastern-European Jew - if you make me blonde, I will look like a heroine addict…’ "(The colourist) poured this bright Tahitian red colour… I started getting working immediately. I could not get a job as a brunette."

Comedienne WHOOPI GOLDBERG has urged U.S. TV audiences to take their dental health more seriously - after discovering she may lose her two front teeth during a recent check-up.
Goldberg was forced to miss an episode of The View - the talk show she co-hosts - on Wednesday (22Oct08) after root canal surgery left her in pain and her face badly swollen.
And the 52-year-old reveals she was shocked to hear her poor dental hygiene may leave her with a set of false front teeth.
She says, "I had emergency surgery. People don’t pay attention to it… we think we know you’ve got to take care of your teeth… I neglected them and I discovered I had so much bone loss that I’m probably going to be losing my two front teeth."

BEYONCE KNOWLES is calling on Hollywood bosses to cast her as the next big screen superhero.
The actress has been bitten by the acting bug after landing roles in Austin Powers in Goldmember, The Pink Panther and Dreamgirls, and she wants her first lead role to be as a comic book crime fighter.
Knowles says, "I want to play a superhero." And she already knows the perfect superpower for her: "The power to disappear and just watch people. The older I get, I can see almost what people are going to do. It’s not like I’m psychic, I just have a good read on people. It’s really what I do. I walk into a room and see everything."

First-time BOND film director MARC FORSTER insists the Aston Martin lake dive that reportedly sparked a string of 007 on-set accidents had nothing to do with the movie.
Italian gossips claimed a James Bond stunt driver crashed 007’s famous Aston Martin DBS into Italy’s Lake Garda in April (08), just before filming on Quantum of Solace was due to start there - and the reports spread around the world like wildfire.
But now director Forster is talking about the incident for the first time, insisting the accident had nothing to do with his film.
He tells WENN, "The car wasn’t owned by the film company or related to us. It was an engineer from Aston Martin driving the car to a press conference. He was on his way to breakfast in the morning and drove the car into the lake.
"We were shooting across the lake and, because the car was an Aston Martin, it was linked to us - but it had nothing to do with us." And Forster takes issue with reports his movie was riddled with accidents and injuries, insisting only two stories are true.
He adds, "There was an accident during a car chase sequence and the stuntman was immediately taken to the hospital. He is now almost recovered.
"Apart from that, there was a tiny little thing in the last week of shooting where Daniel (Craig) cut a very deep cut on his finger during a fight sequence.
He lost a little bit of skin."

ANGELINA JOLIE and her estranged father JON VOIGHT are set for a new battle at the box office.
Voight’s Body of Lies movie opens in America on Friday (24Oct08) - the same day Jolie’s new movie Changeling hits cinemas.
The pair have been estranged since Voight went public with his concerns for his daughter’s mental health in a tearful 2002 TV interview.
But he refuses to bad-mouth Jolie as the pair go head to head at the box office: "I hear her new movie, which opens the same day we do, is great. I hear she’s wonderful in it."

ANNE HATHAWAY’s ex-boyfriend RAFFAELLO FOLLIERI has been sentenced to a four-and-a-half year prison spell after pleading guilty to 14 counts of wire fraud, conspiracy and money laundering The 30-year-old Italian was arrested back in June (08) - two weeks after the actress ended their four-year romance - and accused of posing as the Vatican’s representative in America, and duping investors into believing the church would sell him property at a discount.
Follieri admitted the charges.
In court, his lawyer claimed he became "intoxicated" by the A-list circles Hathaway moved in, and swindled the money in a bid to keep up the pair’s lavish New York lifestyle.
The sentence, handed down in Manhattan federal court on Thursday (24Oct08), is the result of a plea deal, which spares Follieri the maximum possible sentence of 265 years. He agreed not to appeal any sentence less than 63 months in prison.
He also agreed to forfeit money he made illegally, amounting to $2.44 million (GBP1.5 million) and a number of valuable items of jewellery.

Rapper T.I. has cemented his dominance on the U.S. pop charts by returning to the top and displacing BRITNEY SPEARS.
Spears broke T.I.’s Billboard Hot 100 chart jump record last week (16Oct08) when her Womanizer hit rocketed to number one from 96, but the rap star has reclaimed his crown with Whatever You Like, while his Rihanna duet, Live Your Life, climbs a spot to two on the new countdown.

LATEST: Bosses of Dr. Pepper are to make good on their promise to give every American a free can of soda upon the release of GUNS N’ ROSES long-awaited CHINESE DEMOCRACY album.
Company officials refused to believe the rockers would release their new album in 2008, and offered to hand out cans of Dr. Pepper if Chinese Democracy ever hit record store shelves.
The group announced the album would hit stores in November (08) earlier this month (Oct08) - and now the doubting soda bosses have agreed to pass out the Pepper.

LYNYRD SKYNYRD rocker GARY ROSSINGTON is facing driving under the influence charges after he was arrested last month (Sep08).
The 56 year old, a founder member of the classic rock band, was stopped by cops in Milton, Georgia on 9 September (08), according to documents obtained by website TheSmokingGun.com.
In his police report, arresting officer Alan Kelton writes, "Mr. Rossington was very unsteady on his feet and almost fell over multiple times.
"I had Mr. Rossington sit in his vehicle so he would not fall.
"Mr. Rossington stated ‘I know I am drunk, I do not want take the evaluations.’" Rossington was cited and released.

BRAD PITT has reportedly written a stern letter to fire department bosses in Los Angeles, attacking a new rule forcing firefighters to cover up their tattoos.
The Hollywood star claims the policy compromises the safety of firemen and women, and he’s asking their bosses to drop reconsider.
A source close to the tattooed actor tells Star magazine, "(He) thinks it’s ridiculous that these guys who risk their lives to help people have these restrictions put upon them.

THE HILLS star HEIDI MONTAG has had her clothing line with U.S. brand Anchor Blue scrapped - just seven months after its launch.

Comic book mogul STAN LEE wants to turn former SPICE GIRL VICTORIA BECKHAM and her soccer superstar husband DAVID into a crime-fighting cartoon duo.

And Lee believes the attractive couple’s good looks makes the Beckhams the ideal candidates for an undercover superheroes strip.

Rap mogul 50 CENT is set to trade in his mic and return to the big screen alongside actors MICKEY ROURKE and JASON STATHAM in a remake of award-winning French film 13 TZAMETI.
The In Da Club hitmaker - real name Curtis Jackson - has been cast to alongside the pair in the English-language remake of the 2006 thriller.
The movie - which won the 2006 Sundance Film Festival’s Grand Jury Prize tells the story of a man who steals a mysterious package that promises to pay out a fortune.
The project is reportedly scheduled to begin shooting on 17 November (08) in and around New York City.
Jackson made his film debut with 2005’s Get Rich or Die Tryin’.

Actor JEREMY PIVEN has put off marriage until he’s convinced he can compete with his parents’ long-lasting union - because he’s too traditional not to take his own wedding vows seriously.
The Entourage star has been plagued with the "playboy" title since his role as hot-headed Hollywood agent Ari Gold in the hit TV show made him a regular tabloid fixture.
But Piven insists being raised with strong family ties has made him think more seriously about marriage.
He tells the New York Post: "My parents were devoted to one another. That’s my upbringing. That’s my reference for marriage. So when I marry, I want it to be for a long time." And the actor denies he’s been involved with the endless lists of starlets he’s linked with in the press.
