Newlywed TV star TIA MOWRY’s actor husband CORY HARDRICT has been hailed a hero after he shielded the star from a group of men who invaded and robbed their home.
The couple, who married in an intimate ceremony in California in April (08), were reportedly robbed at their Los Angeles home last month (26Sep08).
According to website MediaTakeOut.com, a group of thieves entered the house in search of valuables, but were chased off by Hardrict following an alleged confrontation.
Despite Hardrict’s best efforts, the men reportedly made off with almost $100,000 (£58,934) worth of audio equipment and jewellery in the heist.
The couple was left unharmed.

SPIKE LEE has parted ways with his agent after his new movie MIRACLE AT ST.
ANNA failed to top the box office.
The moviemaker axed the William Morris agency after 15 years together and is now represented by Endeavor.
Miracle At St. Anna has grossed $7.5 million (£4.4 million) to date - $163 million (£93 million) less than his 2006 thriller Inside Man.
Lee had yet to comment on the move as WENN went to press.

LATEST: Actor STEPHEN BALDWIN has defended his attack on U.S. presidential candidate BARACK OBAMA, accusing the Illinois senator of blocking a bill to protect unborn babies.
The Usual Suspects star, a strong supporter of Democrat Obama’s Republican rival, Senator John McCain, recently challenged Obama to a boxing match, claiming, "I’d like to knock some good sense into Barack," and dubbing him a "cultural terrorist".
Speaking on his BlogTalkRadio show on Saturday (18OCt08), the born again Christian re-issued his threat.
He said, "I was half joking. But it might be kind of fun to slap Barack around." And he defended his use of the term "terrorist", accusing Obama of voting against a controversial proposal while in the Illinois Senate.
He added, "Here’s why I think Barack Obama’s a cultural terrorist: He is the only senator to vote against the Born-Alive Act. And here’s his excuse: It shouldn’t be a law because it could endanger the health of the mother. No other senator - Democrat or Republican - agrees with that. He’s the only dude that says, if somebody goes to have an abortion late in the term of a pregnancy, Obama, says you should put it somewhere and let it just starve and die. Barack Obama saying that it’s OK for that to happen is terrorism in my opinion."

Recently split British rockers THE LONG BLONDES are already planning to reform, as soon as bandmember DORIAN COX has recovered enough from his stroke to play the guitar again.
The Sheffield, England-based band announced their decision to part ways on Monday (20Oct08) via a post on their MySpace.com internet page.
The move comes after guitarist Cox was hospitalised in June (08) following a stroke, resulting in a series of cancelled gigs.
But lead singer Kate Jackson is hoping Cox will be able to pick up his instrument again, after extensive physiotherapy.
She tells the BBC, "He’s unable to play the guitar at the moment and we don’t really know when he’ll be able to do that again.
"When it first happened he couldn’t move his leg or his arm at all and we weren’t sure how his speech, memory, or intelligence were going to be affected.
"Thankfully those things are completely unaffected. He’s still the same Dorian, just lovely and hilariously funny. We haven’t lost him at all, it’s just the arm now that they’re working on."

PINK has urged fans not to read too much into her chart-topping new single SO WHAT - because every line is a joke.
The singer’s new hit - her first ever number one single - mocks her split from husband Carey Hart, and then pokes fun at Jessica Simpson.
But Pink insists she made up the lines to make her laugh - and targetted Simpson because of the way her name rhymed.
She explains to PopEater.com, "That song was a joke when I wrote it. I was like, ‘Oh, this will be funny: I guess I just lost my husband, I don’t know where he went.’ And then it just kept going on from there, and every line was funnier than the last.
"Everyone thinks I’m trashing Jessica Simpson, but I’m actually not at all.
I’m actually saying that she’s cooler than me ’cause the waiter keeps taking my table and giving it to her." She explains her alternative line was, "’The pilot just took my private jet and gave it to Haylie Duff.’ But that wasn’t as cool, so it ended up being Jessica Simpson." Rap mogul BRYAN ‘BIRDMAN’ WILLIAMS has been handed a suspended jail sentence after pleading no contest to drug possession.
The Cash Money Records CEO, also known as Baby, appeared in a Kingsport, Tennessee court on Friday (17Oct08) to answer marijuana charges relating to his November 2007 arrest.
He and a number of his entourage entered a no contest plea and were each hit with 11 months and 29 days in a suspended sentence. They were also ordered to pay fines of $905 (£520) in addition to court costs.

BRITNEY SPEARS has sparked a feud among U.S. television network executives over her forthcoming comeback performance.
The pop star has reportedly signed on to sing live in New York’s Bryant Park on U.S. TV show Good Morning America (GMA) to promote her forthcoming Circus album and single, Womanizer.
And according to the New York Post, executives at rival networks are "fuming" the show has landed Spears.
A source tells the newspaper, "Everybody wanted her - she was the big get but GMA and ABC out-foxed the (rival morning show) Today and NBC." Spears has reportedly not yet decided whether she will do an interview during her GMA slot.
She is set to take the stage on 2 December (08).

Actor ALEC BALDWIN has branded U.S. vice presidential candidate SARAH PALIN "a good sport" for confronting TINA FEY over her comedy spoof.
Fey impersonated the Republican on comedy sketch series Saturday Night Live and has been blamed for the party’s recent slip in the polls ahead of America’s presidential election next month (Nov08).
Palin also appeared on the show in a retaliation sketch with Baldwin.
And the actor defended the decision to invite her on the NBC program.
He says, "When you come on a show like that, you are prepared in advance to get worked over. Palin knew that. Palin came on to be a good sport. And she was. She was polite, gracious."

Pop punk PINK is fed up of socialite PARIS HILTON trying to prove the singer is wrong about her ‘dumb blonde’ image, two years after she poked fun at her on hit single STUPID GIRLS.
Pink, real name Alecia Moore, parodies the likes of Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Jessica Simpson in the video for the Grammy nominated 2006 track.
But she reveals the celebrities are still seething about being made fun of in the promo.
She says, "Paris Hilton is still bugging me about Stupid Girls. She came up to me in a nightclub a couple of months back and she said, ‘I hope you realise that the person I seem to be in the press is really just an act and the real me is really smart’.
"I said, ‘Just get over it. The song was like years ago. Quit bugging me.’ "I still take a pop at Jessica Simpson in my new video. That girl hates me.
But it’s just that her name happens to be a good rhyme fit for lots of lyrics…" However, Pink admits she has mixed feelings about the stars, because while she hates their "fake" personas, she is fascinated by how well they deal with life in the spotlight.

BEYONCE KNOWLES found it a lot easier to prepare for her appearance in upcoming movie CADILLAC RECORDS than for hit musical DREAMGIRLS - because she had to gain weight instead of lose her curves for the role.
The Bootylicious beauty went on a strict diet to drop the pounds to play Deena Jones in 2006’s Oscar-winning movie - a story loosely based on Motown band The Supremes.
But she was required to do the exact opposite to play Etta James in Cadillac Records - putting on 6.8 kilograms.
And Knowles enjoyed every minute of filling out her figure.
She tells In Style magazine, "I gained almost 15 pounds to play the role. It was way easier - and tastier - than having to lose so much weight for Dreamgirls."

Movie blockbuster TRANSFORMERS is heading to Universal Studios’ theme park it’s to be the basis of a thrilling new ride.
The Michael Bay-directed film grossed more than $700 million (£404 million) worldwide upon its release in 2007, and studio bosses at Universal are looking to further cash in on its success by launching a Transformers-themed rollercoaster.
The high-definition 3D ride is being developed by Universal Parks & Resorts, original toy makers Hasbro Inc. and Steven Spielberg’s DreamWorks studio, which produced the move.
And theme park bosses hope the white-knuckle ride will "transform perceptions of theme park experiences".
It is expected to launch in 2011 at Universal Studios Singapore, which is due for completion in 2010, while a Hollywood version will follow the Asian opening.
Spielberg was also involved with Universal in the making of Jurassic Park The Ride.
A sequel to last year’s box office smash is currently being made, with stars Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox reuniting with Bay for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, which is set for a summer 2009 release.

Actresses NATALIE PORTMAN and RASHIDA JONES have come up with a novel way of solving the global economic crisis - buying puppies.
In a new video for comedian Will Ferrell’s website Funnyordie.com, the two stars come together to poke fun at the international economic downturn, and make their own suggestion about how best to solve the problem.
In the sketch, the pair says: "The global financial crisis is affecting all of us. The panic on Wall Street has now reached mainstream. There doesn’t seem to be a clear answer. And the worst may be yet to come." Portman adds, "After careful consideration, Rashida and I have determined the best course of action - puppies!" The actresses are then shown rolling around a bed kissing and cuddling a number of cute pooches, before challenging viewers by saying in all seriousness, "So how about it America? Puppies."

Moviemaker ROWAN WOODS has denied branding child star DAKOTA FANNING difficult to work with - insisting the rumours are not true.
Woods directed the 14-year-old star in new film Winged Creatures and was recently reported to have called her a "disaster" onset over her diva-like behaviour.
But Woods is adamant that he never made the comments and has praised the teenager for her professionalism.
In a statement to Defamer.com, Woods writes, "I am very upset and disappointed on behalf of Dakota that such untruths have spun around the internet in regards to Dakota and Winged Creatures and that those opinions be attributed to me. They are not my opinions.
"Dakota Fanning is an incredible actor and a wonderful person. I am proud to be associated with Dakota’s amazing performance."

Pakistani filmmaker SATISH ANAND has been kidnapped in Karachi.
The 57-year-old was abducted on Monday (20Oct08) on his way home.
According to Anand’s driver, two men stopped their car and one of them gave him an injection which made him lose consciousness. The driver claims Anand was missing when he awoke.
Police have no motive for the kidnapping.
A spokesman says, "We are investigating from various angles. There has been no call for ransom or any other demands."

An American TV anchorwoman who appears in OLIVER STONE’s new biopic W is in a critical condition after she was beaten and stabbed at her Arkansas home.
Reporter Anne Pressly was found unconscious in bed on Monday (20Oct08), bleeding from head and body wounds, according to police officials.
Pressly was discovered by her mother who went to the home after Pressly failed to answer her daily wake-up call.
The 26-year-old acts as general assignment reporter at the station, and anchors the channel’s Daybreak slot on ABC’s Arkansas affiliate, KATV.
She also plays a conservative broadcaster who supports Bush’s Iraq campaign in Stone’s forthcoming movie, which stars Josh Brolin as the Republican President.
She is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.
Police spokeswoman Cassandra Davis has confirmed officials are investigating whether Pressly was deliberately targeted.
Davis tells the New York Post, "It is possible that it is something other than robbery… she was a public figure… on the news, in the media."

A collaborator of hip-hop star RICK ROSS has been murdered in a drive-by shooting in Miami, Florida.
Local rapper Toro, real name Derek Johnson, was travelling in a car with a pal in the early hours of Saturday (18Oct08) when a silver vehicle passed them by at around 4am. Shots were fired near strip club Coco’s, killing Johnson, 23, and injuring his male companion.
Johnson’s friend sustained a minor injury.
Officers at the Miami-Dade police department have not got a description of the shooter.
Johnson’s grandmother Addie Balwin is stunned by the killing because the rapper, who was known for his Ross collaboration Ride, was well-liked.
She says, "I’m in a state of shock. He was easy going, everybody loved him we thought."

British singer-turned-actress BILLIE PIPER has given birth to her first child.
Piper and husband Laurence Fox welcomed their son at London’s Portland Hospital on Monday (20Oct08).
Fox - who celebrated the birth with a pint of lager - would not reveal their new arrival’s name to waiting photographers.
He says, "I feel fantastic." The couple wed on New Year’s Eve (31Dec07).
