WILLIAMS SUES OVER SHELVED MOVIE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:36 pm

Funnyman ROBIN WILLIAMS has filed a $6 million (£3.46 million) breach of contract lawsuit against the bosses of a production company for allegedly failing to honour a pay agreement over a scrapped movie.
The actor signed up to star in a comedy called A Couple of Dicks, a film made by Frank and Beans Productions, which was also due to star James Gandolfini.
Williams agreed to the project, which was expected to begin shooting no later than 15 April (08), on the condition that he received $6 million in "fixed compensation" whether the film was made or not.
He was also set to cash in if the film proved to be a box office hit, with Williams taking a percentage of profits if the movie grossed over a set amount.
However, Williams was told in March (08) that the film had been shelved - and he claims he’s yet to receive a penny from the production company’s parent firm Gold Circle Films.
The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday (17Oct08), is under Williams’ company’s name Fiat Risus, Inc.
He wants a jury trial and is seeking his $6 million payment in addition to costs and other damages.
