Hip-hop star PHARRELL WILLIAMS has sparked rumours his girlfriend is expecting a boy.
The N.E.R.D singer/rapper - who is expecting a child with his unnamed model girlfriend - was heard telling pals he is to have a son, reports New York gossip column PageSix.
A spokesman for the star refused to comment.

Specialist AC/DC stores are to open in New York and Los Angeles at midnight on Sunday (19Oct08) to cope with the demands of fans who want to get the group’s new album in the early hours of Monday morning (20Oct08).
Wal-Mart bosses and Columbia Records executives have created the AC/DC Rock Band Store in New York’s Times Square and at the Hollywood & Highland Center in Los Angeles.
The stores will feature merchandise associated with the Aussie rockers, as well as the new album, Black Ice, which goes on release across America at 12.01am on Monday morning.

JACK NICHOLSON has paid tribute to his favourite waitress after learning of her death.
El Cholo Mexican restaurant regular Carmen Rocha, who is credited with introducing Los Angeles to nachos, lost her battle with cancer on 9 October (08) at the age of 77.
And her passing has been noted by one of her most famous customers Nicholson.
He tells the Los Angeles Times newspaper, "Carmen was wonderful, to me and to everybody. It’s a community loss." Rocha had been working at the restaurant since 1959 and the restaurant lounge was renamed Carmen’s Cantina to mark her retirement a decade ago.

Playing JAMES BOND has had an amazing effect on DANIEL CRAIG’s health - he’s had to get in shape to avoid serious injury on set.
The British movie star bulked up to play 007 in Casino Royale but quickly realised that looking good was not enough - he had to feel great too.
He tells Playboy magazine, "I got big because I wanted Bond to look like a guy who could kill. Unfortunately, getting big isn’t the same as getting in shape.
"Last time, I picked up a lot of injuries. This time (for Quantum of Solace) I said, ‘I can’t let this happen again. I’ve got to get into better shape.’"

ENTOURAGE has become a curse for MARK WAHLBERG on Sundays - because people approach him in church with storylines and requests to be on the hit show.
Wahlberg, who is the producer of the series - which is based on his early days in Hollywood, admits a family trip to church has become a business meeting and he’d like others to leave him alone when he’s worshipping.
He says, "I go to church and people ask me if they can be on Entourage, what’s gonna happen. I go to church to worship, I don’t go to church to talk about it.
"The stuff that I did with my entourage back in the day is stuff that I’m not proud of and I’m asking forgiveness for; I don’t want things brought up in church, but, if you go to church in Beverly Hills, those kind of things happen." And his fellow worshippers don’t just bug him about Entourage.
He adds, "I get scripts, resumes, books - people tried to come up to me with a children’s book before and I wouldn’t take it. They got upset with me. This is church."

ANGELINA JOLIE has sparked a new scandal after confessing she and BRAD PITT fell in love on the set of action movie MR. & MRS. SMITH - while the movie hunk was still wed to JENNIFER ANISTON.
The couple has always maintained there was no romance on the set of the 2005 film - and the pair just became "very, very good friends" - but now Jolie has a different story.
In an interview with the New York Times newspaper, which is set to hit the streets this coming Sunday (19Oct08), the actress lets it slip about where she and Pitt fell in love.
Asked when she thinks her children will be able to watch Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Jolie states, "Not a lot of people get to see a movie where their parents fell in love." She also tells the Times that she’s preparing for a heart to heart chat with her eldest son, Maddox, after realising he’s at an age where his curiosity might lead him to google his parents online.
She explains she worries the seven year old will "look up my name and see some kind of sexy pictures or read a story about himself that isn’t true.
There’s a lot we’re going to have to explain to them about how public their family is."

Hollywood star RUSSELL CROWE is growing his hair extra long, so he can donate it to a charity which makes wigs for sick children.
The Oscar winner has cultivated shoulder-length locks for his roles as Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham in a forthcoming epic period movie.
And, when shooting has wrapped, he will have all his hair chopped off and handed to good cause Locks of Love.
One source, who claim Crowe’s hair has almost reached the charity’s 25 centimetre (10 inch) minimum, states, "Russell has grown attached to the hair, but he’s excited to help."

Sixty three countries will be fighting for a Best Foreign Film Oscar next year (09) after Academy Awards bosses closed submissions this week (ends17Oct08).
Those battling for a place on the nominations short list include entries from Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Egypt, Georgia, Iran, Kyrgyzstan and Venezuela.
Nominations for the 81st Academy Awards will be announced on 22 January. The Oscars will be handed out on 22 February during a live telecast which will be broadcast in more than 200 countries worldwide.

Movie veteran JANE FONDA can’t find work because she refuses to play "dour" roles.
The 70-year-old actress thought the parts would come flooding in after she played Jennifer Lopez’s mother-in-law in the comedy Monster-In-Law - but all she has been offered is similar roles.
She tells More magazine the parts she’s offered are "either dour, or less interesting versions of the shrewish mother-in-law." Fonda admits she fears her movie career may be over: "I’m too old to produce, because it takes years. I can’t. But I really do want to make movies."

Heartthrob ZAC EFRON will pick up the biggest pay cheque of his career when he signs on to star in the fourth PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN movie, according to reports.
Disney bosses want to groom Efron to eventually replace Johnny Depp as the star of the franchise, and they are offering him $10 million (GBP5.4 million) to star alongside Captain Jack Sparrow in the next installment of the blockbuster film series.
A source tells the National Enquirer, "Disney knew that Zac was reulctant to do any more High School Musical movies. He had already said there was ‘no way’ he’d return as Troy. So the Disney brass came up with an offer he couldn’t refuse." In-demand Efron has also been slated to take over from Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe on Broadway when the Brit’s run in Equus comes to an end. The 21 year old hunk has denied those rumours.

Comedy actor ANDY DICK will have to wear an alcohol-monitoring bracelet for a year, after pleading guilty to two misdemeanour charges of battery and marijuana possesson in a California court on Friday (17Oct08).
Dick struck a deal, ensuring charges of public intoxication and possession of painkiller Xanax without a prescription were dropped.
The accusations all stem from the 42-year-old’s arrest outside a restaurant in Murrieta, California in July (08) - after he allegedly exposed a 17-year-old girl’s breasts.
When police searched the comedian, they found marijuana and Xanax.
Sexual battery charges were dropped back in August (08).
Speaking outside court, Dick’s attorney Jeffery Rubenstein told reporters, "Andy is a great guy. We are considering this matter closed. He’s looking forward to putting this matter behind him."

KNOCKED UP star KATHERINE HEIGL and her husband JOSH KELLEY are planning to adopt a child from South Korea within the next year, according to reports.
The couple has reportedly chosen South Korea because Heigl’s older sister Meg was adopted from the country.
A source tells the National Enquirer, "Meg has had a profound impact on Katherine’s life, which is why she and Josh are trying to adopt a Korean child.
"They’ve chosen an adoption agency and have started filing the necessary paperwork. They haven’t gone public with the news yet because they want to make sure there are no problems before they make an announcement." Earlier this year (08) Heigl, 29, revealed she had abandoned plans to have a biological child with singer Kelley, who she married last December (07).
She said, "I’m done with the whole idea of having my own children. It doesn’t seem like any fun. I don’t think it’s necessary to go through all of that."

JAMIE FOXX’s dreams of landing a second Oscar in 2009 have been dashed - the release of his new movie THE SOLOIST has been pushed back to March (09), and will no longer qualify for the Academy Awards.
Both Foxx, who won a Best Actor Academy Award for Ray, and co-star Robert Downey Jr. were tipped as Oscar frontrunners for their parts in the true story of a Los Angeles Times journalist who befriends a homeless music prodigy.
But Paramount Pictures studio executives have chosen not to release the film next month (Nov08) as planned, because of reported fears it will fail at the box office because of America’s economic crisis and competition from other big-name movies.
As a result, the film will now be released on 13 March (08) - a month after the Oscars.
The Soloist will still open the upcoming AFI Festival in Hollywood at the end of October (08), according to the Los Angeles Times, but the release date means the film and its stars are no longer eligible for an Academy Awards nomination.
A spokesman for the film says, "I’d be lying if I said we weren’t disappointed, but hopefully, ultimately the movie will benefit from the decision."

Australian record retailers refused to honour the embargo for AC/DC’s new album BLACK ICE on Friday (17Oct08) - because fans refused to leave stores without the new release.
The official release date is Saturday (18Oct08) but many stores got their stock a day early, so managers could arrange displays.
One retailer, who is selling the hot item early, tells website Undercover.com, “We don’t care about embargoes and the fans don’t care about charts. We are here to sell music and the fans are here to buy it.
"I couldn’t care less if Sony has an embargo on it. My customers want it and I’m giving it to them”.
The embargo break and the Friday sales mean the Aussie rockers could storm to the top of the nation’s album charts as early as Monday (20Oct08) - a week before they were expected to hit the top spot.
The album will be released to the rest of the world next week (beg20Oct08).

EMINEM will open up about his rocky two marriages to ex-wife KIM MATHERS and the grief he felt for slain bandmate PROOF in a hard-hitting new memoir, called THE WAY I AM.
The book hits stores on 21 October (08), and promises a deep insight into the rap star’s life.
Recalling the deep sadness he felt following best pal Proof’s shooting death in 2006, Eminem reveals the grief stalled his career: "I have never felt so much pain in my life. It was tough for me to even get out of bed, and I had days when I couldn’t walk, let alone write a rhyme." And the 36-year-old has some kind words for Mathers - who he divorced for a second time in December, 2006 - because she’s a great mum to their 12-year-old daughter Hailie.
He writes, "Kim and I have had our differences, sure, but things are good between us now. She does an amazing job." The book coincides with Eminem’s musical comeback. A retired New York cop has been called back to court for PHIL SPECTOR’s murder retrial after a Los Angeles judge rejected pleas to ignore his testimony.
The music mogul’s lawyers argued that Vincent Tannazzo’s profanity-laced testimony should not be admitted to the retrial, but prosecutors insisted the ex-policeman’s remarks about Spector reveal the producer’s "state of mind regarding women".
During the original trial last year (07), which ended with a deadlocked jury, Tannazzo recalled conversations he had had with Spector, while working as a security man at two separate Christmas parties hosted by comedienne Joan Rivers.
The former cop told the court the producer had used foul language to describe women, and, on one occasion, stated they should all be shot.
Spector is accused of the murder of actress Lana Clarkson, who died from a gunshot wound to the head in the foyer of the music mogul’s Alhambra, California mansion in 2003. Spector maintains the actress shot herself.
On Thursday (16Oct08), California Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler rejected a motion from Spector’s attorney to exclude Tannazzo’s testimony. The hitmaker’s defence team argued that Spector’s "misogynistic attitude is not a basis for admission of evidence." But the judge stated he would consider toning down the language of Tannazzo’s testimony after learning it had upset women in the court a year ago.
Spector’s attorney, Doran Weinberg, accepted the ruling but confessed he was concerned that the testimony and the prosecution’s determination to include it indicated the case "is going to be tried on a theory that Phil Spector hates women." Jury selection for the retrial is expected to begin on Monday (20Oct08).
