MADONNA’s brother CHRISTOPHER CICCONE is blaming his famous sister for her marriage split - because she’s so difficult to talk to.
The interior designer, who hit the headlines earlier this year (08) with his tell-all book Life With My Sister Madonna, insists the Material Girl could still be married to director Guy Ritchie if she could only open up.
Ciccone tells U.S. TV news show Extra, "She’s not the kind of person you sit down and have a face-to-face conversation with." And he insists his sister’s ruthlessness will always wreck her romances: "You don’t get to where she is and stay there for 20 years by being sweet." Ironically, in promoting his book, the author admitted he and his soon-to-be ex-brother-in-law were never fond of each other, and accused the Brit of being "homophobic" - a claim Ritchie has denied.
Ciccone also saw the end of the marriage coming in July (08), telling British breakfast show GMTV, "I don’t know for sure one way or the other if their relationship is good but I do know things are not as good as they could be.
"Her career continues to glide up, whereas Guy’s has gotten a little bit stale. They’re two ambitious and creative people and on some level are competing." Although Ciccone is far from friendly with Ritchie, he empathises with the director: "Being married to her can’t possibly be easy. I know what it’s like living with her, growing up with her. It’s next to impossible and I wouldn’t do it." Madonna and Ritchie announced their plans to divorce after seven-and-a-half years of marriage on Wednesday (15Oct08).
