An afterparty held by MADONNA for her touring crew in Boston, Massachusetts came to an abrupt end on Friday morning (17Oct08) when a fire alarm cut short the fun.
The pop superstar threw a bash for those working on her Sticky & Sweet world tour at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, booking a whole floor for the celebration.
The event followed Madonna’s second sold-out gig in the city on Thursday night (16Oct08) and ran through into the early hours of Friday.
But the partygoers were forced to put an end to their antics when the fire alarm was set off by mistake.
However, Madonna - who is gearing up for a divorce battle with estranged husband Guy Ritchie - was not present when the false alarm occurred - she had called it a night and retired to her bedroom hours before.

R&B superstar BEYONCE KNOWLES has donated $100,000 (£54,000) to help victims of Hurricane Ike.
The Gulf Coast Ike Relief Fund assists people from the Greater Houston, Texas area - of which Knowles is a native - who have lost homes, property and jobs since the devastation occurred last month (Sep08).
The generous Crazy In Love hitmaker is also organising a fundraising benefit to raise more money for the cause.

Original FOOTLOOSE star KEVIN BACON has given ZAC EFRON his seal of approval to take on his role in a remake of the 1984 movie.
Rumours abound suggesting High School Musical director Kenny Ortega will re-team with Efron for an updated version of the musical romantic drama for Paramount studios.
Ortega recently fuelled reports by admitting there’s "a real good chance that this may be a movie".
And now Bacon has given Efron his blessing to reprise the role of Ren McCormack.
He tells London radio station Heart FM, "I met Zac briefly at an event… and we talked… only briefly… but he seemed like a really nice kid and I really do wish him all the best with it."

LATEST: Model CHRISTIE BRINKLEY’s ex PETER COOK has blasted reports he’s involved in a sex tape scandal with his former mistress DIANA BIANCHI, blaming her for spreading "this crap".
Brinkley and Cook split in 2006 after 10 years of marriage following his affair with Bianchi, his then 18-year-old assistant.
The former couple reached a settlement after a bitter public divorce over the summer (08).
Rumours of an explicit home video showing the architect having sex with Bianchi were reported throughout the case, although no such tape was uncovered.
However on Thursday (16Oct08), the New York Post unveiled a series of stills, reportedly taken from the alleged sex tape, which apparently depict the pair having sexual intercourse on a brown love seat.
The newspaper’s PageSix columnists go on to claim that Cook allegedly recorded the tape at his Southampton, New York architectural office without Bianchi’s knowledge.
Bianchi is reportedly furious with Cook for doing so, with her lawyer Rosemarie Arnold telling the publication, "She is devastated to learn about these surreptitiously recorded sex tapes. She had no idea she was ever being recorded." But Cook has now hit back at the allegations, refusing to acknowledge the existence of the explicit footage and pushing the blame onto Bianchi.
He fumes to the Post, "I have no comment on this crap. I don’t know what she’s doing or why she’s doing it."

R&B star NE-YO is refusing to get caught up in a feud with YUNG BERG after accusing the rapper of showing a lack of creativity in his music.
The Closer hitmaker, real name Shaffer Smith, recently appeared on Los Angeles radio show Big Boy’s Neighborhood, where the singer was asked who he’d like to slap.
Ne-Yo called out the Sexy Can I rapper, claiming he copied T-Pain and Lil Wayne by using a vocoder on his track The Business.
An angry Yung Berg responded to Ne-Yo’s accusations in an online video blog, in which he mocked the star and questioned his sexuality.
But Ne-Yo has brushed off the video attack, which he’s yet to see, insisting he’s too mature to respond to the taunts.
He tells MTV.com, "Response for what? That ain’t my lane, dude. I don’t beef.
I don’t do that. That ain’t my thing. I don’t do dis records. I don’t do beef.
I don’t do any of that blogs talking about cats. I don’t do that. That ain’t my thing. I’m a grown man. I got money to make." However, Ne-Yo continues to blame artists like Yung Berg for "killing music".
He adds, "I can’t work with people that’s doing this for the fame element or the money element. I think that’s what’s destroying music. You got cats out here that are copycatting and doing stuff that’s popular. You know, doing it because that’s what’s in right now, whatever the case may be - but basically what you’re doing is killing music. You’re killing the creative element of what this is, which was the basis of this whole thing, which is self-expression." Rocker TRAVIS BARKER expects to be discharged from a Los Angeles hospital in the next few days because his burns from last month’s (Sep08) plane crash are "healing up quickly".
The former Blink 182 star and his pal/bandmate Adam ‘DJ AM’ Goldstein were the only survivors of the private jet that crashed in South Carolina, killing four others.
He was transferred from a burns unit at an Augusta, Georgia hospital late last month and has since been receiving treatment for second and third degree burns at a medical centre near his home in L.A.
And in his latest blog post from his hospital bed, Barker reveals he’s well on the way to making a good recovery.
He says, "I think I’m getting out of the hospital soon.
"I can’t wait to get out of here and be home with the babes. The doctors say I’m healing up quickly and I’m going to be out of here before you know it." The drummer has two young children, Landon, four, and Alabama, two, with ex-wife Shanna Moakler.

A representative for teen sensation MILEY CYRUS has dismissed rumours suggesting the underage star has slept with her model boyfriend JUSTIN GASTON, insisting she abides by her mother’s "strict" rules.
Cyrus, 15, joined her mum Leticia and her manager in the front row at Los Angeles Fashion Week on Wednesday (15Oct08), where Gaston was modelling for designer Christian Audigier.
According to the New York Post’s PageSix, Cyrus and Gaston "were all over each other backstage" at the fashion show, and the 20-year-old aspiring rocker blew kisses and winked at her every time he passed her on the catwalk.
A source tells the publication Cyrus was overheard telling a friend that "she was probably staying at Justin’s tonight and that they were going to skip the after-party and have a party of their own".
But the singer/actress’ spokesperson has denied any illicit behaviour took place that night, saying: "Miley had a great time at the show, but the whole sleeping-over thing never happened. Miley went home with her mom and manager.

KATIE HOLMES made her official Broadway debut on Thursday (17Oct08) - but the actress and her husband TOM CRUISE had to be ushered into the theatre’s back entrance to avoid anti-Scientology activists protesting outside.
Approximately 30 police officers were recruited to patrol the opening night of Arthur Miller’s classic World War II drama All My Sons as the group, which calls itself Anonymous, rallied against the controversial religion.
The angry mob welcomed celebrities including Blythe Danner, Barbara Walters and Isabella Rossellini to the Gerald Schoenfeld Theater by chanting "Scientology kills" and "Save Katie, Keep Tom" - in reference to the Top Gun star, the faith’s most recognised follower.
Holmes and Cruise, who called the play "extraordinary" after attending the first preview last month (Sep08), snuck through the stage door hours before the protest began.
Anonymous spokesman Matthew Danziger told the New York Daily News: "We’re not protesting Katie or the play. Our aim is to shed some light on the human rights abuses of Scientology. We hope Katie Holmes sees this and takes note."

The Ocean’s Eleven star was offered painkiller Vicodin by doctors after hurting his back filming the 2005 oil industry drama Syriana.
But he refused to take a single pill - because he had seen Rosemary’s career plummet after she became hooked on prescription drugs.
Clooney says, "My father had a difficult time for years when she was addicted to Percodan. My aunt’s addiction haunted me when I injured my back.
"The doctors gave me a tub of Vicodin, but I didn’t take any. I thought, ‘This is a bad time to decide to be a drug addict’. It’s all timing - when I’m 80, I’m all for being a drug addict, but not now."

LATEST: Bollywood legend AMITABH BACHCHAN has been discharged from hospital after treatment for acute abdominal pains.
The actor was hospitalised on Saturday (11Oct08) - his 66th birthday suffering from an "intestinal obstruction", and medical staff at the clinic in Mumbai, India put him on a liquid diet to improve his health.
Bachchan, who reportedly suffered from an incisional hernia, left the hospital on Friday (17Oct08) surrounded by police guards.
An administrative officer at Lilavati Hospital confirms Bachchan was escorted by his son, Abhishek Bachchan, and daughter-in-law, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, both celebrated Bollywood stars.

LATEST: Actress JENNY McCARTHY has branded DENIS LEARY "obviously stupid" over comments made in his new lifestyle book about children with autism.
The actor-turned-author sparked outrage among activists for young autism sufferers when an excerpt from Why We Suck: A Feel-Good Guide to Staying Fat, Loud, Lazy and Stupid was printed in a U.S. newspaper on Wednesday (15Oct08).

A former friend of late star RODNEY DANGERFIELD has been banned from distributing video footage showing the final years of the comic’s life.
Dangerfield’s widow Joan filed a lawsuit against producer David Permut last year (07) after he allegedly showed a private video tape of the funnyman to two writers.
Permut was allegedly planning to edit the 200 hours of footage into a documentary called Respect.
But now he has been permanently barred from doing so by a Los Angeles judge, who ordered Permut not to distribute the footage earlier this week (beg13Oct08).
Lawyers for both parties have declined to comment, claiming the other terms of the settlement are confidential.
Dangerfield died in 2004 at the age of 82.

Actress SUSAN SARANDON credits JANE FONDA with inspiring her to become a political activist.
Sarandon is an active supporter of progressive and left-liberal political causes and has taken part in a number of protests including anti-war rallies, as well as making a public stance against the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
The Oscar winner, who is currently attending the second annual Middle East International Film Festival, admits she admires Fonda for her political activism fighting for causes such as Civil Rights and in opposition to the Vietnam War in the 1960s.
Sarandon says, "Jane Fonda led the way in activism; as an actor and activist you have to ask yourself, ‘Can I really not do something?’ In a job where people feel used, it’s great to be able to use (the industry) back, to shine a light on social issues." Hip-hop mogul JAY-Z is a big fan of British rock band KAISER CHIEFS - and loves their upcoming album OFF WITH THEIR HEADS.

Rap pioneers CYPRESS HILL face legal action from a blues singer who alleges they ripped off his tune without permission.
Syl Johnson, 72, has filed a lawsuit against the Insane in the Brain hitmakers, claiming their song Lock Down, which featured on their 1993 album Black Sunday, uses the beat from his 1969 song Is It Because I’m Black? Johnson is suing the group, along with a host of record and music publishing companies, for $29 million (£15.7 million), according to TMZ.com.
