Actress RENEE ZELLWEGER has brushed off reports she’s dating UMA THURMAN’s hotelier ex ANDRE BALAZS.
Zellweger fuelled speculation she was romantically involved with Balazs after the pair was spotted enjoying a recent dinner together in Manhattan, New York.
But a spokesperson has shot back at the claims, insisting Zellweger and Balazs are not romantically involved.
Zellweger’s representative tells People magazine: "Renee is single and not dating anyone." Thurman and Balazs split in 2006 after two years together. Earlier this year (08), the actress became engaged to Swiss businessman Arpad ‘Arki’ Busson.

Actress ANGELINA JOLIE has hinted she supports the death penalty for child molesters - after CLINT EASTWOOD included a controversial execution scene in their new film.
The Tomb Raider star plays a woman whose nine year old son is kidnapped in Eastwood’s upcoming movie Changeling.
The film contains a scene in which a murderer is executed - and both Jolie and director Eastwood have spoken out in support of harsh punishment for hardened criminals.
Eastwood tells USA Today, "Somebody was saying they thought the execution scene was vivid, and ‘Does that mean you approve of capital punishment?’ I said: ‘When it comes to children, hell, yes!’" And Jolie then added: "Yeah… if someone did that to my child I would go after them." Jolie and partner Brad Pitt have six children. She gave birth to twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline in July (08), and they also have adopted kids Maddox, Pax and Zahara, and biological daughter Shiloh.

Former DAWSON’S CREEK star JAMES VAN DER BEEK is returning to his TV roots with an appearance on ONE TREE HILL.
The actor will play a director looking to turn a book by Chad Michael Murray’s character Lucas into a movie.
But the guest appearance will be an emotional one for Van Der Beek - teen drama One Tree Hill is filmed on the same Wilmington, North Carolina set where Dawson’s Creek was shot between 1998 and 2003.
Executive producer Mark Schwann says, "The spectre of Dawson’s Creek is always around us. We’re about to complete 128 episodes, which is what Dawson’s did…So I thought it would be cool to get James." The episode is due to air in the U.S. in late November (08).

Hollywood star NICK NOLTE has reportedly moved in with his ex-wife after escaping the fire in his California home last week (beg06Oct08).
The Cape Fear actor suffered only minor injuries in the blaze which ripped through his Malibu home on 7 October (08).
The fire reportedly cost Nolte $2 million (£1.08 million) in damages to his home.
And according to reports, the 67 year old actor has sought refuge with his third wife, Rebecca Linger, and their 22-year-old son, Brawley.
Nolte’s longtime partner Clytie Lane and their two-month-old daughter, Sophie, were not at the residence at the time of the fire.
A source tells the National Enquirer, "Becky’s home is just up the road from Nick’s. It was the nearest safe harbor for him and Brawley while they sift through the rubble of the fire.
"The baby’s room was ravaged by the fire… Nick cut his hand breaking a window while trying to put out the fire with a garden hose. Still, he’s glad to be alive - and counting his blessings that Clytie and (Sophie) weren’t there." Nolte and Linger divorced in 1994.

LATEST: DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES actor GALE HAROLD remains in a critical condition in a Los Angeles hospital after doctors found he has swelling on the brain following his motorcycle accident on Tuesday (14Oct08).
The star, 38, was rushed to the Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center, where he is undergoing tests and treatment.
Reports initially indicated Harold was admitted to the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit after fracturing his shoulder in the crash.
But Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry remains optimistic Harold will recover.
He tells the New York Daily News, "We’re hearing he’s going to be fine, but he’s going to be recovering for a couple of weeks." Harold portrays Jackson - the boyfriend of Teri Hatcher’s character - on the hit U.S. show.
And Cherry has prepared the show’s writers for Harold’s hiatus as he recovers, adding: "We know we’re going to rewrite one scene." No one else was injured in the accident.

LATEST: Actor RYAN O’NEAL has hit back at Los Angeles law officials who’ve charged him with felony drug possession - insisting the paraphernalia found in his home belonged to his son.
The actor and his 23-year-old son Redmond were arrested at their Malibu, California home last month (Sep08) after police discovered narcotics on Redmond’s person and in Ryan’s bedroom during a raid.
Redmond was also charged with two misdemeanour counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and one misdemeanour count of illegal possession of pepper spray, according to TMZ.com.
O’Neal’s lawyer Mark Werksman tells the New York Daily News: "The drugs in the house were Redmond’s
. They weren’t Ryan’s
. He doesn’t use drugs
. This is really painful for him
. Dealing with Redmond’s addiction has been the bane of his existence
. Ryan is very upset about this, as you can expect." But Los Angeles Country’s District Attorney spokesperson Sandi Gibbons adds: "We would not have filed the charges if we did not think the evidence supported them." Both men are scheduled to be arraigned on 13 November (08)

Singer/songwriter JAMES TAYLOR is throwing his weight behind U.S. presidential candidate BARACK OBAMA - he’s to play five free concerts in support of the Democrat.
The Sweet Baby James star will urge fans to vote for the Illinois senator in the upcoming elections (Nov08) with a string of dates across his native North Carolina starting on Sunday (19Oct08).
Taylor’s support will be a big boost for Obama - the state has not recorded a majority vote for a Democratic president since 1976.

MY MORNING JACKET have been forced to scrap their entire European tour because singer/guitarist JIM JAMES has yet to fully recover from injuries sustained at a recent concert.
The star, real name James Olliges Junior, reportedly slipped and fell onstage 30 minutes into a show at the University of Iowa earlier this month (07Oct08), prompting the Southern rock group to cancel the remainder of the gig.
According to reports, James hit his head in the fall, which happened in between songs.
He was discharged from hospital just one day later - but is still not ready to return to the stage for My Morning Jacket’s November (08) tour.
In a statement to fans, the group says, "We would like to extend our gratitude for your support and understanding. Our hope was to merely postpone the tour, but as our scheduling does not allow that to happen in the immediate future, we feel it is best to cancel this tour in hopes of rescheduling at some point.
"We would also like to say ‘thank you’ to all the fans who have reached out to Jim with their well-wishes as we all hope for his speedy and full recovery."

Country star TAYLOR SWIFT is trying to get over her split from JOE JONAS by listening to sad songs and talking to her cat.
The 18-year-old singer was reportedly dumped by The Jonas Brothers star in a phone call earlier this month (Oct08) after a five month romance.
And Swift appears to be finding it difficult to return to single life.
Writing on her online blog, she says, "I just got back from a 5 show run on the road. Now I’m sitting in my kitchen..on the counter. Eating cool whip. Hip-hop mogul SEAN ‘DIDDY’ COMBS fell foul of the law in Florida on Tuesday (14Oct08) when he ignored a police officer’s request to turn down the volume of his car stereo - because he couldn’t hear him.
The Bad Boy CEO, whose left arm is still in a sling after shoulder surgery, was driving his silver Jeep around Miami Beach when he was pulled over by cops.
According to website TMZ.com, the attending officer asked Combs to adjust the volume of his music, but when the rapper failed to comply or even acknowledge, he was ticketed for the offence.

Singer KATIE MELUA wants to follow in the footsteps of SINEAD O’CONNOR and shave her head - because she chokes on her hair during gigs.
The Closest Thing to Crazy hitmaker was playing a show in Sweden recently when her flowing locks flicked into her mouth and made her gag in the middle of a song.
So she plans to hack off all her hair to avoid a repeat of the incident.
Melua, who is due to play a huge show at London’s O2 Arena next month (Nov08), says, "I swallowed a piece of my hair while I was singing a song called Scary Films and couldn’t breathe. I had to try and carry on singing while getting the hair out of my mouth without anyone noticing and it wasn’t very nice.
"I guess it’s an occupational hazard when you have long hair hanging down over your face, but I’m seriously thinking about shaving it all off like Sinead O’Connor."

ANGELINA JOLIE insists she and partner BRAD PITT are "normal parents" - because they never spoil their children.
The 33-year-old serves as a Goodwill ambassador for the United Nations in between acting work and her busy family life as mother to six children.
But she is adamant the jetset lifestyle gives her chance to help those less fortunate - and she constantly tells her children how lucky they are.
She says, "Certainly we live in two extremes, but at the same time we wake up every day as parents - parents of children from around the world, whose backgrounds would’ve been very similar to the street children we see - so there isn’t as much as a divide.
"We wake up as a mommy and daddy who want to make sure we’re raising our kids with the right values, who want them to see all sides of the world - who want them to be responsible but who also want them to be able to enjoy their lives and the privileges that they have, and not to be ashamed of them but embrace them.
"If they can have better schooling, then (we) give them everything we can possibly give them. (We) never spoil them and never let them forget how fortunate they are, and always make sure they keep one foot in the other side of the world, knowing that they should give back." Pop superstar MADONNA soldiered on with her U.S. tour on Wednesday (15Oct08) night, appearing onstage in Boston, Massachusetts just hours after news of her divorce was confirmed by her publicist.
The Like A Virgin hitmaker’s representative Liz Rosenberg released a statement to the press on Wednesday afternoon stating that the singer and her director husband Guy Ritchie were heading for a divorce after seven-and-a-half years of marriage.
But Madonna left her marital problems behind her as she stepped onstage at Boston’s TD Bank North Garden later that evening, as part of her Sticky & Sweet world tour, performing her usual high-energy set to the 30,000-strong audience.
And she made just one reference to her personal life throughout the two-hour set, hinting at her strained relationship with Ritchie.
After introducing the song Miles Away - which she previously admitted was inspired by the filmmaker - and dedicating it to the "emotionally retarded", she added, "You may know a few people like that. God knows I do." The song, about the difficulties of maintaining long-distance relationships, includes lines like: "When I’m gone you’ll realise/That I’m the best thing that happened to you".

ANGELINA JOLIE is waiting for her newborn twins with BRAD PITT to grow another three months before she can begin the adoption process for her seventh child.
The Tomb Raider star and Pitt welcomed twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline in July (08).
Jolie was interviewed on The Today Show with Matt Lauer on Thursday (16Oct08), when she was asked if she had plans to adopt another child.
Jolie coyly replied that she’s already explored options to expand her brood, which includes four other children - adopted Maddox, seven, Pax, four, Zahara, three, and biological daughter Shiloh, two But she admits she is unsure when the adoption will take place.
She adds: "It depends. You can’t start the process until any new children are six months old to understand how the new family is settled to see what you can absorb into a new family. I think that’s a smart thing anyway, to understand when it’s the right time to bring a new child in." And Jolie insists she doesn’t long for her former life before becoming a busy mother-of-six.
She adds, "I haven’t been alone for so long now - with (Maddox). I’ve met the right person (in Pitt)… I don’t like being without him. I don’t love being alone like I used to be."

Actress/singer EDIE ADAMS has died of pneumonia and cancer, according to her son JOSH MILLS.
Adams passed away on Wednesday (15Oct08) in Los Angeles, aged 81.
She is best-known as the face of Muriel cigars - starring in a series of commercials that ran over 19 years - although her career spanned across the stage, nightclubs, movie screens and television.
A graduate of New York’s prestigious Juilliard school, Adams got her start in entertainment in 1950 as the winner of the Miss U.S. Television beauty pageant, which shot her to TV-stardom with an appearance on comedian Milton Berle’s television show.
Her TV roles, including a 1963 appearance with Sammy Davis Jr., received five Emmy nominations.
She also sang on classic comedy series The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour in 1960, marking the show’s final episode with a rendition of That’s All.
Adams later became a Broadway star with roles in 1953 musical Wonderful Town, and 1956s Li’l Abner.
In the 1960s, she took to the silver screen, appearing in films including It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, The Apartment, Under the Yum Yum Tree and Lover Come Back - opposite Doris Day and Rock Hudson.
Adams later returned to TV in the 1970s and 80s with roles in The Love Boat, Murder, She Wrote, and Designing Women.
She is survived by her son Mills.

RAY actress KERRY WASHINGTON was inspired by her cancer survivor mother to front cosmetics giant L’Oreal’s new awareness campaign for ovarian cancer.
The star features in the Color of Hope campaign, aimed at encouraging more women to get checked out for signs of the disease.
Washington didn’t think twice about joining L’Oreal, partly because she wanted to teach others about the risks of ovarian cancer, but also because she was impressed at the company’s charitable contributions.
She tells OK! magazine, "One of the reasons why I decided to work with L’Oreal is because of all the philanthropic work that they do in the community.
I feel like they’re not a company that tries to take advantage of women’s insecurities by making women feel not good enough so they have to go and buy makeup to feel good about themselves. Instead, they really believe in the work of women and that women deserve to look good and feel good every single day.
"And part of that is health and their commitment to women’s health and ovarian cancer. They are really leading the way. It’s frightening how we don’t have the kind of research and development that we need for ovarian cancer. When it comes to breast cancer, we know how to do early detection. The research is there, but for ovarian cancer, that just doesn’t exist and by the time people know, it’s too late.
"My mum is a breast cancer survivor and part of the reason she is a survivor is because of early detection so I understand the importance of early detection. If it wasn’t for the advancements in technology that allow for early detection in breast cancer, I probably wouldn’t have my mother today." Three items have been launched for the Color of Hope campaign - a lipstick, a bag and a necklace - with all proceeds going towards the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.

LATEST: Comedian CHRIS KATTAN will be officially single in February (09) - a Los Angeles judge has signed off his divorce from estranged wife SUNSHINE TUTT.
The funnyman, 37, wed the 32-year-old model in an intimate ceremony in Yosemite Valley, California on 28 June (08), after a three-year courtship.
But they split just eight weeks into their marriage citing "irreconcilable differences" - and less than four months later, on 10 October (08), a judge at Los Angeles Superior Court approved the legal separation.
However, their marriage won’t come to an end until early next year, because there is a six-month waiting period from the date the divorce papers were originally filed (Aug08) before any ruling can be made official.
Terms of the couple’s divorce settlement has not been made public.
