SIR ELTON JOHN has laughed off his onstage row with LILY ALLEN at this year’s (08) GQ Men Of The Year Awards in London, insisting it was all "nonsense".
The pair co-hosted the event last month (Sep08) but fiery John appeared to grow impatient with Allen, who reportedly drank champagne throughout the ceremony and grew more intoxicated while on stage.
He seemingly ended up losing his temper with the Smile hitmaker and she responded by telling the singer to "f**k off".
But the Rocket Man has made up with the star - and has declared his love for the 23-year-old.
He writes on the British GQ blog, "That was just such nonsense. We had such a great time. She told me to f**k off, because I’m forty years older than she is.
I love her. She was feeling no pain, I was feeling no pain. I was sober, she wasn’t, but it doesn’t matter.
"I think they’re being very unfair to her. We certainly didn’t have a fallout onstage on all (sic)." And he jokingly adds: "You have to put these people in their place sometimes."

ANGELINA JOLIE and BRAD PITT like to seek solace with fellow parents - because they aren’t as starstruck as other members of the public.
The couple, who have six children, are often seen out and about with their large brood - but they prefer to visit places where other parents will be to avoid unwanted attention.
Jolie tells Britain’s Hello magazine, "Usually, places where there are other parents with children are okay - other parents are much more respectful of our privacy than many people because they understand what it’s like just to want to be with your kids.
"Parents are much kinder to us than some other members of the public." And the children are left baffled when strangers want to take the couple’s picture - but Jolie insists she tells her kids the truth to keep their feet on the ground.
She adds, "When the kids ask us why people are taking our pictures, we say, ‘Mommy and Daddy make movies and that’s why some people want to know about us’.
We want to make sure that they know there’s nothing special or different about us - it is just a fact of our lives that we happen to make movies so people want to take our pictures."

HALLE BERRY’s model boyfriend GABRIEL AUBRY has given the Hollywood beauty’s signature perfume the seal of approval.
The Monster’s Ball star has been mixing and testing different scent combinations for the last two years for her first fragrance, and she’s finally found one she’s happy with.
And she admits she settled on the smell of Halle by Halle Berry after Aubry praised the scent.
She tells People.com, "I was mixing two fragrances, a fig and a mimosa, and putting them in a bottle and carrying them around. That was my flavour of the moment.
"I want women to feel that their partners, that special person, thinks they smell beautiful, thinks that it’s simple enough that they can ingest it all day, every day. That’s what Gabriel said. He said it smells like that - he better be right!" Berry, who gave birth to daughter Nahla in March (08), also confesses she’s dedicated so much time to perfecting the fragrance, they refer to the perfume as her second child.
She adds, "We call Halle my second baby because that’s really all I’ve been working on for the past two years."

Funnyman STEVE MARTIN will do battle with actor ALEC BALDWIN for the affections of MERYL STREEP in an upcoming movie.
Martin will be plunged into a love triangle with the pair, two months after it emerged Baldwin was to star in the as-yet-untitled romantic comedy.
The film - penned by Father of the Bride writer Nancy Meyers - is scheduled to begin shooting next February (09).

ALICIA KEYS, CHRIS BROWN, the EAGLES, COLDPLAY and LIL WAYNE will lead the 2008 American Music Awards after claiming multiple nominations on Tuesday morning (14Oct08).
Keys leads the pack with five nominations, including Favorite Female Artist in both the Pop/Rock and Soul/R&B categories and Artist of the Year
. Coldplay garnered four nominations for Favorite Artist in the Alternative Rock category, Favorite Band Duo or Group and Favorite album, for Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends, in the Pop/Rock category and Artist of the Year
. The Eagles also earned four nominations, including Artist of The Year.
Lil Wayne and Chris Brown round out the 2008 Artist of the Year nominees.
Rihanna, Ne-Yo, Taylor Swift, the Pussycat Dolls, the Jonas Brothers, Pink and New Kids on The Block will perform at the 36th annual AMAs, which will be hosted by comedian Jimmy Kimmel on 23 November (08).

Movie star-turned-California Governor ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER has declared a state of emergency for Los Angeles and Ventura counties following Monday’s (13Oct08) wildfire outbreak.
Holding a press conference on Tuesday morning (14Oct08), the former Terminator star revealed 64 homes had been destroyed by the blazes and there had been one fatality in the Marek, California fire.
He praised firefighters for their efforts overnight - they worked tirelessly to contain the blazes, which were 70 per cent under control at press time.
Schwarzenegger said, "It looked really bad but the firefighters… have turned this whole thing around… Miracles happened through the night and great, great work was done."

Former THE SOPRANOS star JAMIE LYNN SIGLER is turning her hand to the fashion industry - she’s launching her own line of jewellery.
The actress and her pal Holly Freeman are creating a unique collection of bracelets and necklaces - all hand beaded.
Sigler tells People.com, "It’s a different creative outlet for me. We love accessories; we love jewellery, so we’re having a lot of fun.
"We would put the baby to sleep and we would just start beading and talking and we realised this would be a fun thing for us to do." The currently untitled line is due to launch at the start of 2009.

GOSSIP GIRL stars BLAKE LIVELY and PENN BADGLEY have backed U.S. presidential hopeful BARACK OBAMA - with Lively urging people to contact her if they ever consider voting for rival JOHN McCAIN.
The pair appear in a 30-second online film to support Democrat politician Obama - and jokingly warn against the dangers of voting for Republican McCain.
In the short ad Lively says, "If you’re ever out somewhere and you’re considering voting McCain, just call me. I’ll pick you up. No questions asked." And Penn holds up a John McCain emblazoned baseball cap and declares, "Mom, Dad, I found this in your room" before encouraging youngsters to "talk to your parents about John McCain".
The commercial, directed by Mr and Mrs Smith director Doug Limon, is part of MoveOn’s Youth Vote programme and will air during a Gossip Girl ad break on American network CW, and on stations MTV and Comedy Central.

Former child actress MAUREEN McCORMICK is thankful she didn’t lose her virginity to BRADY BUNCH co-star BARRY WILLIAMS - because she’s convinced the tryst with her on-screen brother would have sent her spiralling into a deeper depression.
McCormick speaks candidly about her long-running battle with drugs and depression in her forthcoming book Here’s the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice.
And the actress is adamant her condition would have worsened if Williams had succeeded in bedding her.
Recalling the encounter, she says, "We were swimming in the pool. We were in our bathing suits, hot and heavy… we got very close and his parents, thank God, came in the room. Thank God because he was my (screen) brother, right? I would’ve been really messed up."

LATEST: Actress HAYDEN PANETTIERE’s father has been ordered not to "harass, strike or threaten" his wife in a new temporary court order, issued less than a month after he was charged with misdemeanour battery following an alleged domestic dispute.
Alan Panettiere was taken into custody in West Hollywood early on 11 August (08) after allegedly attacking his wife, Leslie Vogel, at a party.
Both insisted the arrest was all a big misunderstanding, but Los Angeles authorities beg to differ.
A Beverly Hills judge issued the protective order on Tuesday (14Oct08), effective until his new arraignment date - scheduled for 11 December (08).
Panettiere faces up to a year in county jail if convicted.

Actor JOSH BROLIN turned down several big-money offers after his starring role in NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN - because he wanted to play the part of GEORGE W BUSH.
Brolin was flooded with requests to appear in blockbuster movies after he thrilled audiences in the Coen brothers classic earlier this year (08).
But he snubbed them all - because he was keen to play the outgoing U.S.
president in Oliver Stone’s biopic W.
Director Stone tells USA Today newspaper, "Josh is truly a theatre-born type actor. He doesn’t look like it, feel like it. People think he’s just the son of Jim Brolin.
"He’s truly one of the best young American actors. He was offered big movies after No Country - I know a few of the stories - and he turned them down. Money galore. He turned them down for this (W), and he didn’t get paid (much) for this.
"And he did it. And he did it knowing he was going to play somebody who is very unpopular. That is commitment." Brolin also admits he has the luxury of not worrying about money - because he makes a fortune from his other business interests such as real estate.
He says, "I was making my money other ways, so I could say ‘No’, and the minute I started doing that, within six months, once I created a hole, it started to be filled with incredible opportunities. I mean, really incredible opportunities."

LATEST: Actor GARY COLEMAN has pleaded not guilty to charges of reckless driving and disorderly conduct.
The Diff’rent Strokes star entered his plea on Tuesday (14Oct08) in a Payson, Utah court after showing up more than an hour late to the hearing - blamed on a ‘misunderstanding’, according to the actor’s attorney.
The charges stem from an altercation last month (06Sep08) at a Payson bowling alley when Coleman allegedly struck 24-year-old fan Colt Rushton with his car after he took photos of the star and his wife Shannon Price.
Rushton was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
He is currently on probation and under house arrest relating to another case, and has filed a lawsuit against Coleman for damages.
Coleman’s attorney Randy Kester tells People.com: "Mr. Coleman did nothing wrong. It was Mr. Rushton who provoked this incident. My client was simply trying to leave the bowling alley." The actor faces a maximum of six months in jail if he is convicted of the misdemeanour reckless driving count, and a fine if found guilty of disorderly conduct.

Singer PINK does not worry about her figure - because regular workouts keep her happy.
The So What hitmaker admits comments in the press about her weight are sometimes "hurtful" - and is exasperated with the press for being so nasty with their words.
She tells Britain’s Cosmopolitan magazine, "I’m the same as anybody else. I have days when I don’t think I look so great, especially when I have all eyes on me.
"Not so long ago, there was a paparazzi picture of me walking my dogs with the headline, ‘A chubby Pink walking her dogs.’ You’d never go up to somebody in the street and tell them they’re fat, so how can people get away with being so hurtful in print? But the singer laughs off the jibes - and hits the gym to cheer herself up.
She adds, "I had to laugh about it. There are more important things in life and I’ve learnt to be happy with my shape. For me working out is the best anti-depressant in the world."

Rockers STATUS QUO have been forced to scrap a show in Hull, England on Tuesday night (14Oct08) to allow drummer MATTHEW LETLEY to recover from a viral infection.
Letley has been diagnosed with an upper respiratory tract viral infection and is resting under his doctor’s orders.
The Hull City Hall show has been rescheduled to 28 October (08).
Status Quo manager Simon Porter says, "We are especially sorry to have to move this show as we had to cancel a show in Hull on last year’s tour. We look forward to delivering a truly fantastic show on the 28th and look forward to seeing all the Quo fans then."

ANGELINA JOLIE will return to work in February (09), just seven months after giving birth.
The Tomb Raider star and partner Brad Pitt welcomed twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline in the south of France in July (08) and spent the summer at a chateau there.
Jolie stepped out publicly for the first time since the birth at the New York premiere of new film The Changeling earlier this month (Oct08) - and is keen to get back to a film set.
She tells Britain’s Hello magazine, "I’m planning to go back to work in February - there’s a project I’m looking at now that will begin at the end of that month. It’ll have been over a year since I last worked and there was a big discussion in our house of, ‘Should I go back to work?’" And Pitt was happy for Jolie to return to acting, even helping her figure out childcare arrangements for the twins and their four other children - adopted Maddox, seven, Pax, four, Zahara, three, and biological daughter Shiloh, two.
She adds, "Brad was wonderfully supportive. He said, ‘Your work is part of you and you should do this. We’ll be fine - the babies will be sitting up and hanging out in your trailer, and the kids will come to visit when they’re not at school. It’s going to be all right.’"

Actor CHRISTIAN SLATER can’t shake the memory of his first on-camera love scene - because he filmed it just after losing his virginity.
The Hollywood star was 17 years old when his 1986 film The Name of the Rose was released, and admits his lack of experience in the sack sent him into a frenzy.
And Slater insists it was his co-star Sean Connery’s advice that helped during the explicit scene with actress Valentina Vargas.
Slater says, "I had just lost my virginity the year before. So to go from doing that to shooting a love scene… I remember I talked to Sean Connery about it and told him I was nervous before going in there and he just said, ‘Well, all I can tell you boy is breathe, remember to breathe’."

ANGELINA JOLIE chose to give birth to her twins in France in tribute to her late mother MARCHELINE BERTRAND.
The actress and her partner Brad Pitt welcomed babies Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline in the south of France in July (08).
And it was Jolie’s decision to have the twins in France to honour Bertrand, who died of cancer in January 2007.
The Tomb Raider star tells Britain’s Hello magazine, "They’re the first babies I’ve had without her. She was an amazing mom and she shouldn’t have passed away so young.
"She was partly French-Canadian, and she always loved France, so when I was deciding where to have the children, it was just a very comforting idea to do it in France, because I knew she would have loved it. That’s a reason why we’re all learning French, too, because she always wanted my children to speak the language." And Jolie finds being in familiar territory comforting - as it helps the actress recall memories of her mother.
She adds: "It’s a beautiful language and a beautiful culture, and being in that part of the world always reminds me of her."

Troubled rocker PETE DOHERTY has hit back at claims he filmed himself taking drugs - and posted a video of himself ridiculing the accusations on the internet.
The Babyshambles frontman was seen in a video on the YouTube website last week (beg06Oct08) apparently preparing to smoke crack cocaine.
An unknown female is seen pouring a bucket of water over his head and tells Doherty, "I thought you’d given all that up." Several British newspapers ran stories accusing Doherty of glamourising drug use - but he has hit back in another online film.
The new footage features scenes of Doherty socialising with his family, and in a reference to the alleged "crack-smoking" film, Doherty has posted another video titled "Crack? Crack crack crack crack crack, you presumption…".
The rocker has been fighting addictions to heroin and crack cocaine since 2003.
