Father-to-be JERRY O’CONNELL is throwing out his childhood junk - to make room for a nursery for his kids.
The actor is expecting twins with wife Rebecca Romijn early this winter (08), and he’s been busy clearing some space for the babies’ bedroom in their Los Angeles home.
He says, "We cleared out a bedroom, actually not a bedroom, it was my aunt and uncle’s old stuff.
"I had my computer and video games in there. That got cleared out for the kids. So, I’m wondering what I’m going to do with my video game stuff. But, maybe that goes out the window when you have kids." And O’Connell admits they still have a lot to do in preparation for their twins’ arrival: "(We’ve been) baby-proofing the house, but it’s mostly getting the nursery ready. It’s another room. We’ve got a couple cribs and stuff, so that’s about it." But the couple will have some live-in help - in the form of O’Connell’s mother-in-law Elizabeth, reports People.com.
He adds, "Her mum is going to come stay with us. I’m sleeping on the couch I’m kidding… No, I’m joking. A lot of people are getting us ready for the first couple months."

An episode of controversial cartoon series SOUTH PARK has sparked outrage after depicting Hollywood director STEVEN SPIELBERG in a rape scene with HARRISON FORD.
The show made its season 12 debut on the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur on Thursday (09Oct08).
In the opening episode, entitled The China Problem, the show’s characters have flashbacks of Indiana Jones star Harrison Ford getting raped by Jewish director Spielberg and his fellow filmmaker George Lucas.
Anti-Defamation League spokesperson Myrna Shinbaum tells the New York Daily News, "South Park has been offensive and has had very anti-Jewish pieces in the past. We understand that the show is trying to satirise, but it may get lost on those who are haters." According to reports, bosses at Paramount Pictures have scheduled a meeting with executives at its parent company, which produces the Comedy Central series.
Comedy Central’s Senior Vice President Steve Albani says, "We don’t comment episode by episode on South Park or whether they cross the line, but South Park has a history, and people know what they are getting into when they watch it." Paramount have declined to comment on the episode.

French actor GERARD DEPARDIEU’s son GUILLAUME has died at a hospital in Paris after suffering from a severe bout of pneumonia.
The 37-year-old passed away on Monday (13Oct08) at the Garches hospital.
He had been filming new movie L’Enfance d’Icare in Romania when he suddenly fell ill. He was taken to seek medical help at the weekend (10Oct08) but died early on Monday.
A spokesperson for Depardieu Sr.’s agency Artmedia says, "He caught a virus which gave him a very severe pneumonia." Guillaume Depardieu starred in a number of movies, including 1991’s Tous les matins du monde, 1993’s Cible emouvante, and Pola X in 1999.
He was a multiple-nominee of the Cesar Awards in France, and in 1996 he won the accolade for Most Promising Actor for his role in Les Apprentis.
But it was Guillaume’s reputation as a rebel which attracted the most attention. In 2003, he was handed a nine-month suspended prison sentence and fined $9,000 (£4,865) for threatening a man with a gun.
And in June this year (08), he was jailed for two months for driving under the influence (DUI). In addition, he has been in trouble with police over various drug offences.
He also suffered personal turmoil when he was injured in a severe motorbike accident in 1995, which later resulted in his right leg being amputated in 2003.
He is survived by his six-year-old daughter Louise with his ex-wife Elise Ventre, whom he divorced in 2006.

Country trio RASCAL FLATTS will help volunteers build a playground in Alabama after winning a humanitarian award.
The band received the Academy of Country Music’s Home Depot Humanitarian Award in May (08), and as a result, won the opportunity to provide a new playground to the city of its choice.
The trio - Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney - will visit Birmingham on Wednesday (15Oct08).
to build their playground at the Princeton Alternative Elementary School.

Rockers FALL OUT BOY have lined up an unlikely collaboration for their forthcoming album - British musician ELVIS COSTELLO.
Costello, 54, will sing on the band’s album - set for release next month (Nov08) - on a song entitled Folie a Deux.
And Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz admits the band was hesitant to leak the news before letting fans in on the odd pairing.
He tells AbsolutePunk.net: "At some point everyone is gonna find out."

LATEST: THE PRETENDERS rocker CHRISSIE HYNDE has made plans to open yet another vegan restaurant - near the site of New York’s 9/11 terrorist attacks.
The singer recently opened her first eatery in her native Akron, Ohio, called The VegiTerranean.
And Hynde is already eager to branch out, with hopes of continuing her culinary venture in the Freedom Tower at Ground Zero - the main building of the new World Trade Center complex that is currently under construction.
Hynde tells People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA): "There’s been so much horrific blood and guts and violence there that it’d be fitting to open a cool restaurant where no mangled, burnt bodies are on the menu."

Rapper BOW WOW has denied reports he’s dating hip-hop legend REVEREND RUN’s daughter, insisting they’re just close friends.
The Like You hitmaker, real name Shad Moss, was reportedly dating Angela Simmons after they were spotted together at a party in New York this summer (08).
But Bow Wow is adamant his relationship with Simmons is purely platonic he’s simply providing the aspiring fashion designer with some friendly support as she gets over her ex-boyfriend.
He says, "I’m single. I’m not with Angela Simmons. She’s a sweet person, just a cool homie (friend) I hang out with. I know they (have) probably seen me at the fashion show with her, but I go to support her. She just broke up with her boyfriend and all that, but nah, it’s nothing like that." And Bow Wow has also dismissed any talk of a romance with hip-hop video vixen Karrine ‘Superhead’ Steffans.
Steffans was rumoured to be expecting the rapper’s baby, but he has blasted the claims as "all the way false".

British singer/rapper M.I.A. has confirmed she’s pregnant with her first child.
The star, real name Mathangi Arulpragasam, sparked rumours she is expecting a baby after appearing at a New York gig on Saturday night (11Oct08) with a bulging belly.
Following her set, she told Pitchfork Media, "I’m creating a baby." But M.I.A. - who is set to marry The Exit singer/guitarist Benjamin Brewer insists her plans for marriage came before she discovered she was having a child.
She adds, "I got engaged first, then I got pregnant, kids." And the 31-year-old admits her baby news coincided with her single Paper Planes doing well in the charts.
She says, "When I found out I was pregnant and Paper Planes was in the iTunes top 10, it seemed like the whole world was reshuffled in one week, and all my plans went out the window.
"I’ve got two kids, that’s what it feels like. And that’s the lesson - you can’t make plans." The star is currently working on a follow-up to her latest album Kala - but insists she has to attend to some family business first: "I have to do the rounds - go see my family and show them the belly."

JOHNNY DEPP’s longterm partner VANESSA PARADIS has no intention of wedding the Hollywood star - because their relationship is "perfect" as it is.
The singer/actress has been dating Depp for 10 years and the couple has two children together - Lily Rose, nine, and Jack, six.
And although rumours of a wedding surfaced earlier this year (08), Paradis insists they are untrue - because she and Depp are already so dedicated to one another and their family.
She tells Britain’s Elle magazine, "Each summer people say we’re supposed to be getting married, but we don’t talk about it that much. He’s got me and he knows he’s got me." But Paradis, 35, hasn’t completely ruled out exchanging nuptials.
She adds, "I love the romance of ‘let’s get married’, but then, when you have it so perfect… I mean, I’m more married than anybody can be - we have two kids. Maybe one day, but it’s something I can really do without."

JESSICA SIMPSON has laughed off rumours she’s engaged to American footballer beau TONY ROMO after the couple was reportedly spotted shopping for rings together.
The singer, who has been dating Romo since late last year (07), was alleged to have picked out a sparkler with him during a trip to a Neiman Marcus store in Dallas, Texas recently.
But Simpson insists there is no truth to the claim - because Romo would never agree to go jewellery shopping with her.
She tells Entertainment Tonight, "Tony and I have not gone to Neiman Marcus somebody said we bought a ring there. I couldn’t drag Tony in to Neiman Marcus if I tried!" However, the singer admits she is "beyond the moon and stars" about their romance, adding, "I’m very happy."

British stage and film director DAVID JONES has died of a heart attack. He was 74.
Jones passed away on 18 September (08) in Rockport, Maine.
Beginning his career at the BBC, Jones was hired by the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Peter Hall in the early 1960s where he became known for his stage work.
His direction of 1987 film 84 Charing Cross Road and 1983’s Betrayal starring British actors Sir Ben Kingsley and Jeremy Irons - later landed him international acclaim in his field.
His Broadway directing assignments included 1994’s No Man’s Land, and The Caretaker, starring Patrick Stewart.
Jones later turned to directing TV series, including Law & Order, Picket Fences and The Ghost Whisperer.
He is survived by his companion, Joyce Tenneson, and two sons.

Comedienne TINA FEY has been blamed for the Republican party’s recent slip in the polls ahead of the U.S. presidential election, after impersonating vice-presidential candidate SARAH PALIN on comedy sketch series SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE.
According to a recent poll taken by the Washington Times, the "Tina Fey effect" has turned supporters off the Alaskan governor and her running-mate, presidential candidate John McCain.
Political scientist Jerald Podair tells the New York Post: "Presidential impersonators do influence elections, and in this one, Tina Fey is well on her way to ruining Sarah Palin’s political career. In a political culture that takes its cues from popular culture, a good impersonator may be worth a million votes.
"The parodies may have done a bit of damage. People remember Gerald Ford through the prism of Chevy Chase. Ford was among our most athletic presidents, and he had a wide-ranging knowledge of public-policy issues. But because of SNL, many came to think of him as a buffoon." But the reviews have yet to effect Palin’s own praise of Fey, with rumours still swirling the politician will make a cameo alongside the comedienne on the show.
Earlier this month (Oct08), Palin told reporters she would be open to make an appearance, adding: "I love her, she’s a hoot (fun) and she’s so talented. It would be fun to meet her, imitate her and keep on giving her new material."

Hollywood actor BILLY BOB THORNTON was once left red-faced when he was stopped by airport security over a bottle of vitamins.
The Monster’s Ball star admits he was angry staff failed to recognise him.
He tells British newspaper the Metro, "I’ve been at the airport when they’ve seen something they thought looked fishy. It was vitamins.
"I’d been through the security joint already and then I had to go through another one. And while the guy is checking me, I’m signing an autograph for him so, more than likely, I’m not a terrorist.
"Meanwhile, there’s a guy walking through with a beard down to his chest and a towel on his head who they don’t check.
"It’s OK to wear a towel if you want to - I don’t care. I like everybody in the world. But in terms of a national threat, it’s more likely to be him than a f**king movie star."

Italian film producer, writer and director GIL ROSSELLINI has died after a four-year battle with a rare bacterial infection. He was 51.
Rossellini depicted his fight with the staphylococcus bacteria in a series of documentaries entitled Kill Gil, a widely praised video diary of his hospitalisation.
He died on 3 October (08) in Rome.
Rossellini began his film career in New York during the 1980s, working as a production assistant on Martin Scorsese’s The King of Comedy, and Sergio Leone’s Once Upon a Time in America.
He soon started his own international production company Rossellini & Associates, with offices based in New York, Rome, and New Delhi, India.
Rossellini produced and directed films and documentaries including, as producer, the comedy Lontano da dove, multi-media rock opera The Polyhedron of Leonardo, six-part TV series Enemy Mine, and The Hole in the Wall - a documentary about children in India learning to use computers.
His Kill Gil (Volume 2 1/2) is set to screen at the Rome Film Festival later this month (Oct08).
And Italian president Giorgio Napolitano led the tributes to Rossellini in a statement on Friday (10Oct08), praising his video diaries and "the courage and determination with which he faced the serious illness that led to his being paralysed".

Bollywood star SHAH RUKH KHAN has been honoured for his contribution to the film industry in Malaysia - despite opposition from the country’s politicians.
Khan received the governor’s award - the equivalent to a British knighthood for promoting the Malacca region in recent film, One 2 Ka 4.
Malacca chief minister Mohamad Ali Rustam says, "This resulted in many people visiting Malacca. The award was given in recognition of this." But opposition politician Lim Kit Siang has slammed the move, admitting he was "astounded" the governor would choose to honour the Indian actor ahead of home-grown talent.
He says, "Are there no Malaysian film stars, artists or sports people who have greater (talent) to be honoured and encouraged as compared to Shah Rukh? "I don’t think the reason that has been given for making Shah Rukh Khan a Malacca Datuk would impress or convince many that the Bollywood actor-dancer had ‘contributed to our tourism industry’." The 42-year old star is among 78 people to get the award in conjunction with the governor’s 70th birthday, alongside the country’s navy chief, academics, artists and journalists.

Music mogul SIMON COWELL’s $36 million (£11.9 million) salary for his work on hit U.S. TV series AMERICAN IDOL has sparked controversy on the set of the talent show - because he’s earning far more than his fellow judges.
The show’s former executive producer Nigel Lythgoe has finally come forward to confirm Cowell’s earnings after he was profiled in financial magazine Forbes.
And though Lythgoe insists the star is worth the multi-million dollar fee, he admits there has been jealousy between Cowell and his counterparts, judges Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson.
He says, "There is always jealousy in every job. Why is he getting more than the other two judges? Because it is believed that he brings more to the table.
He has actually handled his negotiations quite brilliantly. He’s only ever negotiated by the year. And now he is getting something like $22,000 (£11,892) per minute."
