SLATER’S KIDS DON’T CARE ABOUT ACTING

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:24 pm

CHRISTIAN SLATER has given up hope of persuading his children to follow in his footsteps as an entertainer, because they don’t care about his acting career.
The Hollywood star admits he has tried to convince his son Jaden, nine, and daughter Eliana, seven, to take interest in his work, just like he was inspired by his own father’s acting career.
But his attempts to intrigue the pair by inviting them on film and TV sets have fallen flat.
He says, "It’s interesting. They don’t seem to have any huge desire to get involved. I try and get them to come to the set to visit me and they’re like, ‘It’s too far away.’ They don’t care.
"My daughter… will come when I’m doing a play and and sit in the balcony and watch us rehearse but my son could take it or leave it - he couldn’t care less."

NASH BRIDGES SHOW WAS HUNTER S. THOMPSON’S IDEA

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:21 pm

DON JOHNSON’s hit U.S. TV series NASH BRIDGES was inspired by his late neighbour HUNTER S. THOMPSON.
The Miami Vice star made a deal for a 22-episode show with the then-boss of U.S. TV network CBS - and he admits he had no idea for a story.
That’s where gonzo journalist and writer Thompson stepped in.
Johnson reveals, "I was probably one of the last actor/producers to get a guaranteed 22 episodes on the air, but I didn’t have an idea; I just made the deal. I told them (TV executives) I was going to create it (series) as I went along.
"My neighbour and friend, God rest his soul, Hunter Thompson and I were sitting around talking about television. Hunter and I came up with one idea and out of that idea it evolved and underwent a metamorphosis. I took that idea and I brought it to Carlton Cuse (executive producer/creator Miami Vice) to help format Nash Bridges into the show that finally made it on the air."

RIO VIDEO WAS NOT PLANNED FOR PARADISE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:18 pm

DURAN DURAN’s iconic RIO video was originally planned to take place in a gloomy London studio - until director RUSSELL MULCAHY relocated the shoot to Antigua.
Four members of the supergroup took off to the West Indies paradise with their partners to relax after recording the Rio album, and they had no idea the video shoot would come to them.
John Taylor recalls, "We got a phone call from our manager: ‘Guys don’t leave. We’re coming out with (bandmate) Andy (Taylor) to make a video." Roger Taylor adds, "We thought we were filming the video in London and designer Anthony Price had fitted us in all these suits and then the location was changed to Antigua.
"When the outfits turned up we all looked at each other and said, ‘That’s all we have?’ It seemed odd but it was an iconic image, where we’re wearing these Anthony Price suits on this yacht. The juxtaposition really worked."

T.I. SORRY FOR GUN POSSESSION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:18 pm

Rapper T.I. has issued a public apology as he awaits sentencing on federal weapons charges, insisting he fell victim to poor judgment.
The star, real name Clifford Harris Jr., is facing a one-year prison sentence and 1,000 hours of community service after pleading guilty to illegal possession of three machine guns and two silencers following a 2007 arrest.
Harris defended his decision to carry illegal weapons earlier this month (Oct08), claiming he has feared assassination since the shooting death of his assistant two years ago.
He says, "I can’t excuse my behaviour but, when you’ve endured what I’ve endured and you have attempts made at your life… (and) you have more people that would rather kill you than congratulate you. You have family to protect and people that mean the world to you that you’d put your life on the line for at any given moment.
"It kind of swings your judgment… I’m definitely sorry for it (arrest) and I’m doing everything to turn negatives into positives and put this all behind me."

CHESNEY WRITES SONG ABOUT MARRIAGE SPLIT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:15 pm

KENNY CHESNEY has penned a new tune about his break-up with actress RENEE ZELLWEGER.
The country singer tells the upcoming issue of Newsweek his new song Nowhere To Go, Nowhere To Be is about the 2006 heartbreak he suffered after the failure of his high-profile marriage.
Chesney explains, "I was probably as emotionally and mentally exhausted as I’d ever been. And that was due to a lot of things - having the foot on the gas pedal constantly, and my break-up with Renee Zellweger.
"I got in a plane and went down to the Virgin Islands. I was completely by myself. I didn’t want to be around anybody. So, the next thing you know, it’s me and a pen and I sat down and wrote a lot of lines of this song." And he admits many of the other tunes on his new album were inspired by the split: "It’s a pretty honest record. I’ve let myself be more emotionally vulnerable in some of the lyrics. I think that was good therapy." And despite reports he and his ex are friends again, Chesney admits Zellweger’s reaction to the album’s lyrics is "unpredictable".

FALL OUT BOY RECONSIDER ELECTION DAY RELEASE DATE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:15 pm

Rockers FALL OUT BOY are reconsidering releasing their new album, Folie a Deux, on election day in America - because they fear many critics will see it as little more than a sales "gimmick".
In a post on the band’s official website, the group suggests it might delay the album, which is scheduled to hit stores on 4 November (05), so the release date doesn’t clash with the general election.
The band states, "Six months ago we thought it would be a fun idea to release our album on election day but this is not the election to be cute.
"We felt as though, rather than making a commentary, we were only riding the wave of the election. This seemed less and less like what we intended to do and more of a gimmick.
"It is now in the hands of our label to give us a new release date. It is our intent to get our record out this year and as soon as possible."

FORD DENIES LaBEOUF WILL TAKE ON INDIANA ROLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:24 pm

Actor HARRISON FORD has denied reports his INDIANA JONES sidekick SHIA LaBEOUF will replace his role as the action hero in a new installment of the franchise film.
LaBeouf starred alongside the 66-year-old actor as the whip-cracker’s young friend Mutt Williams.
And the Star Wars actor insists there are no plans for the young star to take on the role he made famous, despite the open ending in summer blockbuster Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Ford brushed off the rumours, sparked after he passed the archaeologist’s trademark hat to LaBeouf’s character, alluding to the switch.
He tells Moviefone: "No, that’s never been (the idea)… I think it just doesn’t work that way. And there’s definitely a distinction between passing the fedora and someone picking it up."

JOHNNY DEPP’s girlfriend VANESSA PARADIS is bemused by suggestions she’s "tamed" the Hollywood star, insisting the balance in their relationship came about "naturally".
The couple has been together for 10 years and has two children together - but the French singer/actress is adamant she didn’t set out to calm the wild ways of Depp’s youth.
She tells Britain’s Elle magazine, "Tamed. What’s that? Like a lion? Nooo, no, we did it to each other.
"Maybe I’m a good girlfriend because I’m his girlfriend. I’m not sure I’d be a good girlfriend to anyone else; the same for him. It’s difficult to explain, but it’s something that’s natural, obvious and beautiful." Depp had previously dated supermodel Kate Moss and actress Winona Ryder.
