GOSPEL FAMILY CELEBRATE WEDDING, MONTHS AFTER TRAGEDY
Christian singer STEVEN CURTIS CHAPMAN celebrated his daughter’s wedding on Saturday (04Oct08), just four months after his youngest child was killed in a car accident.
Adopted five year old Maria Sue Chapman was struck and killed by a car driven her elder brother Will at the family’s Nashville, Tennessee home in May (08).
And she was remembered at the wedding of 22-year-old Emily Chapman and Tanner Richards.
The 45-year-old Grammy winner composed the wedding music, and walked his eldest daughter down the aisle on the front lawn of their home.
And Emily’s brother Caleb, 18, sang a song written about his sisters, as the bride danced with her father.
Speaking in August (08), Steven Curtis Chapman said of the tragic accident, "I’m broken and I would give anything to have my baby girl back. But that’s not going to happen. So I wake up in the morning and make a choice - you can wallow in the deep end or you say, ‘God, show me what you want me to be about today and how can I honour you, and in turn honour Maria.’"
