DOMINGO CONCERT UPSETS MEXICAN HISTORIANS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:30 pm

Mexican historians are seeking criminal charges against the organisers of a PLACIDO DOMINGO concert on Saturday (04Oct08) - insisting they violated archaeological laws.
The opera tenor performed at the Chichen Itza Mayan ruins, prompting outrage from national preservation buffs.
Outraged archaeologists claim the concert violated laws that require the ruins to be preserved to educate Mexicans about ancient cultures.
Even Domingo got involved, assuring those opposed to the show that he had made sure his performance would not shake the foundations of the ancient site.
Before Saturday’s show, he said, "We have taken care of every detail to carry out this event.”
