STARS TEAM UP WITH GOOGLE TO ENCOURAGE U.S. VOTERS
LEONARDO DiCAPRIO, FOREST WHITAKER and DUSTIN HOFFMAN have joined forces with Internet giant Google in a bid to urge U.S. citizens to vote in the upcoming American elections next month (Nov08).
The actors have shot a pro-vote video, which has been uploaded onto video network site YouTube, to make Americans aware of the dangers of not using their vote.
In the video, entitled 5 Friends, DiCaprio tells viewers, "If you’re not going to vote I don’t even know what to say to you anymore. You know you have to vote." The footage, which was filmed at the Titanic star’s Los Angeles home, also features U.S. funnywoman Sarah Silverman, who tried to lighten the mood of the message, telling citizens to forward the video to their pals, and urging them to spread the "must-vote" message until it’s "rampant like herpes but for a positive".
