The Hot Fuzz star hates being famous - but insists anyone who craves it deserves the coverage they get.
He says, "I don’t seek fame. People take it on unwisely and it’s a monster in a way. If they go out there and court it, it’s like wading into a shark-infested pool with a cut leg, then they complain when they get their leg bitten off. The key is not to go swimming in the first place."

ENTOURAGE star JEREMY PIVEN has denied he once left a DVD of the show as a tip in a restaurant - insisting the rumour was completely made up.
Last year (07), a New York gossip columnist reported that the actor had been banned from the exclusive Nobu restaurant in Aspen, Colorado after leaving the first season of Entourage on the table as a tip following a meal.
But Piven insists that the incident never happened.
He says, "That’s a good one. I don’t even have a DVD of Entourage. The idea I would bring it with me and use it as a tip - these are creative people and they put some time and some energy into this. I think these are wasted talents." Piven has also denied claims that he often demands extra goodie bags at celebrity events - admitting that when he does go home with free products, he gives it straight to his family.
He adds, "I have two nieces, Lily Rose and Pearl, who are insanely talented angels. I might want to grab something for them, but I don’t know if I would want a blinged-out pink phone."

Actress SHIVA ROSE is reportedly struggling to buy out her ex-husband DYLAN McDERMOTT during their divorce - so the couple has agreed to sell the marital home.
The Practice actor filed for divorce from his wife of 11 years earlier this year (May08), citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
Their marital home is listed as "community property" in divorce papers - and Rose allegedly cannot afford to pay to keep their former residence.
A source tells New York gossip column PageSix.com, "Rose is being forced to sell the gorgeous Brentwood home she and ex-husband Dylan McDermott bought nine years ago. Shiva’s looking for a smaller house nearby." Rose says in a statement, "Dylan and I are getting a divorce, and we have mutually agreed to sell the house we shared as a married couple." McDermott and Rose have two daughters: 12-year-old Collette Blu and three-year-old Charlotte Rose. The actor is reportedly seeking joint custody.

LATEST: The deadlock between the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and movie studios could finally be broken after the bosses of the actors’ union were urged to ballot its members over strike action.
Members of the 120,000-strong SAG rejected a three-year deal offered by the major Hollywood studios and TV networks earlier this year (Jul08).
And those appointed to negotiate on behalf of SAG’s cardholders are calling on the governing board to hold a vote.
If 75 per cent of balloted members agree to industrial action then the strike will go ahead.
Negotiators told governors, "A strike authorisation vote of the membership is necessary to overcome the employers’ intransigence." The call for the vote received a response from the body that represents the studios, Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), which had previously rejected an offer to settle with the union.
In a statement, an AMPTP spokesman said, "Is this really the time for anyone associated with the entertainment business to be talking about going on strike? Not only is the business suffering from recent economic conditions, but if ever there was a time when Americans wanted the diversions of movies and television, it is now." SAG is pushing for more money for actors when their work is released on DVD, plus a greater say in the endorsement of products on-air.

OASIS star LIAM GALLAGHER stormed out of a recording session with the group in a row over a gospel-style song - but was forced to return to ask his bandmates for a lift.
The frontman became embroiled in an argument with his brother Noel while they were recording a track for Oasis’ new album, Dig Out Your Soul, in Los Angeles.
But after storming out of the session in anger, Gallagher had to return to the studio and grovel to the other musicians to take him back to his hotel.
Noel says, "Liam walked out over this song called The Boy With The Blues. He got in some backing vocalists who would have been more suited to a (Irish boyband) Westlife record. They were shrieking, and I was like, ‘Is this what it’s f**king come to?’ "And bless him, he walked out. Then, he realised he was in the middle of LA and can’t drive. So he had to come back and say, ‘Can someone give me a lift?’"

A man who allegedly published an obscene story detailing the fictional kidnap and murder of British pop band GIRLS ALOUD is facing prosecution.
Darryn Walker, 35, from South Shields, England is accused of posting the article on a fantasy porn website and has now been charged under the U.K.’s Obscene Publications Act.
The 12-page article, titled Girls (Scream) Aloud, is said to describe the kidnap, rape and murder of band members Nadine Coyle, Cheryl Cole, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh.
Walker appeared before magistrates in England last month (Sep08) and been granted unconditional bail. He is due in court in Newcastle, north east England, later this year (08).

Singer JOHN LEGEND has laughed off persistent rumours he is gay - insisting internet gossips have to make up such stories to "fill space".
The R&B star, who has been dating model Christine Teigen for more than a year, is adamant that he is not angry about the speculation over his sexuality.
And he understands the pressure blog writers must feel to keep their readers entertained.
He tells Allhiphop.com, "Blogs, their job is to talk s**t everyday. They have to fill up space. You know, I understand. They are trying to be entertaining.
"They are trying to fill up space everyday and sometimes they don’t have anything interesting to talk about so they got to make s**t up. I understand, I read some of the blogs sometimes, and I think it’s funny. You can’t let that get to you, you just got to keep living your life."

Rap mogul P. MILLER has been named in a copyright infringement lawsuit over a logo used in his jeans collection.
The hip-hop star, who launched his P. Miller clothing range with U.S.
discount retailer Wal-Mart, has been accused of stealing the logo idea from U.K.-based label Pepe Jeans London LLC.
The Pepe Jeans branded denims feature the letter P in a circle - a design similar to that used in Miller’s clothing line.
In legal papers filed in a Manhattan, New York federal court last week (ends26Sep08), the rapper formerly known as Master P - real name Percy Miller is targeted alongside Wal-Mart bosses and the product’s manufacturer Happy Nation Inc.
Pepe Jeans owners want a judge to issue an injunction against the future use of the logo. They are also seeking all profits and damages from the infringement, as well as legal fees.

Rap superstar JAY-Z has been honoured in New York for his humanitarian work in Africa.
The Big Pimpin’ hitmaker attended the United Nations Global Leadership Awards Gala on Wednesday (01Oct08), where he was praised for his efforts to bring clean water to the poor.
Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, recently toured Africa and was delighted to see his plans come to fruition.
He tells People.com, "Many charities, you close your eyes and cross your fingers and hope that the money gets to the people who really deserve it.
"But with this, I got to go to Africa, see the water pumps. I got to see the kids turn them on."

BRITNEY SPEARS’ cousin and former assistant ALLI SIMS has been barred from contacting the pop star.
Sims was once a regular at the Toxic hitmaker’s side, but she now admits that since Spears’ father Jamie took control of the singer’s affairs earlier this year (08), she has not been allowed to have any contact with her cousin.
Sims was recently accused of attempting to profit from her relationship with the star, by selling off clothes, jewellery and accessories she was given as Spears’ sidekick.
She tells New York Post gossip column PageSix, "I have no idea when I’ll see her again. I miss her every day.
"When (Spears’) dad gained control, he put some rules down… it’s just best for her to not communicate with a lot of people. My main concern is her being OK." The move reportedly comes as Jamie Spears attempts to remove allegedly negative influences from his daughter’s life, as she recovers from her breakdown in January (08).
Spears was also banned from seeing her former manager, Sam Lutfi, who was served with a restraining order in February (08) ordering him to stay away from the singer and her family.

Pop star KYLIE MINOGUE and rockers COLDPLAY have triumphed at this year’s (08) BT Digital Music Awards by scooping two gongs each.
The Australian singer walked away with Best Pop Artist at the ceremony in London on Wednesday (01Oct08), as well as Best Innovation for the Kylie Konnect website.
The Violet Hill hitmakers scooped the Best Rock/Indie Artist award and the Best Official Music Website accolade.
Radiohead were crowned band of the year and other winners included The Zutons for Best Video Podcast and Vampire Weekend for Best Breakthrough Artist.
A panel of experts chose seven award winners and the public voted online for the remaining 13 prizes.

JAMES BOND star DANIEL CRAIG is convinced the new 007 films are so dangerous, he will need plastic surgery within five years.
The British actor sustained numerous injuries while filming the forthcoming Quantum of Solace - he was rushed to hospital in June (08) after hurting himself on-set in South America, and was recently seen nursing a bruised eye and fractured arm.
Craig admits the dangerous stunts are all part of playing the superspy - but fears it won’t be long before he will need to have plastic surgery to rectify his injuries.
He says, "It’s what happens when you do something like this. I got tagged in a fight sequence and needed eight stitches. Plastic surgery? Give it five years."

SIR MICHAEL GAMBON once tricked JOHNNY DEPP into thinking he was friends with British monarch QUEEN ELIZABETH II - telling the actor he regularly went to her home for a cup of tea.
The pair was working together on 1999 movie Sleepy Hollow in the grounds of a stately home near Windsor, England, when the Queen and Harry Herbert, the 17th Earl of Pembroke - who is also a film director - rode past on horses.
And Depp assumed that because Gambon knew the Earl, he must know the Royal as well.
Gambon recalls, "Harry shouts, ‘Hello Mike’ and I replied ‘Hello Harry, how are you, mate?’ and ‘Hello ma’am’ and the Queen nods to me.
"Afterwards Depp asked: ‘Was that the Queen?’ (I replied) ‘Of course it was the Queen.’ Mouth open, Depp replied: ‘You know the Queen?’ "’Yeah, she’s one of my best friends,’ I ribbed him, ‘I’m always nipping into her house for a cup of tea.’"

Actress MARISA TOMEI had trouble getting into her costume on the set of new movie THE WRESTLER - because she had to be fitted with fake nipple piercings.
The My Cousin Vinny star plays a tattooed and pierced stripper in the upcoming film.
And director Darren Aronofsky admits the fake piercings caused an upset on set - because they took so long to attach.
He tells the New York Daily News, "The hardest part was fitting the fake nipple piercings on her.
"You’d be surprised at how long that took, but we were happy with how it came out."

Actress MELISSA JOAN HART was determined to give birth to her second child naturally - and ordered her family to stop her demanding painkillers during her labour.
The former Sabrina the Teenage Witch star delivered son Braydon in March (08), her second son with husband Mark Wilkerson.
And Hart, who endured "medical intervention" during the birth of three-year-old Mason, was adamant that her next labour go as smoothly as possible.
She tells Us Weekly magazine, "I told my mom and my husband, don’t let me have (the drugs).
"I kinda regret that one. But the thing is, the healing was so much faster. I didn’t have to get the drugs out of my system and was moving around a lot more.
"I laboured at home for nine hours and then went to the hospital for an hour and a half - two pushes and he was out."

British comedian RUSSELL BRAND is delighted to be working with DAME HELEN MIRREN - because he has a huge crush on the actress.
The pair will star in a new adaptation of William Shakespeare’s The Tempest, with Mirren taking on the role of Prospero and Brand playing jester Trinculo.
And the comic admits it will be a challenge to work with The Queen star, because he thinks she is so attractive.

A JAMES BOND fan has paid thousands of dollars for the sports car which was wrecked during the filming of new movie QUANTUM OF SOLACE, according to DANIEL CRAIG.
The luxury Aston Martin DBS was smashed to pieces in April (08) when a stuntman accidentally drove the vehicle into Lake Garda in Italy.
The car - one of six used on the movie set - was subsequently dredged from the water, but deemed unfixable.
But Craig admits that film bosses made their money back by selling the vehicle to a 007 fan - for more than its original worth.
As new, the car is valued at $129,500 (£70,000), but Craig says the wrecked Aston Martin was sold for approximately $370,000 (£200,000).
He says, "I think somebody paid about £200,000 for this written-off Aston Martin. It was a Bond aficionado."

BEVERLY HILLS, 90210 spin-off 90210 has been axed from Australian TV screens due to poor ratings.
The drama was dropped from Channel 10 after just four episodes because there wasn’t enough interest in the show.
The debut program pulled in 837,000 viewers last month (Sep08), while the last episode shown on Monday (29Sep08) achieved viewing figures of just 616,000.
A spokesperson for the channel says, "90210 is an excellent show that clearly resonated with a younger audience, but it didn’t have the kind of numbers needed to stay in this intensely competitive environment." The station intends to broadcast the remaining episodes during the non-ratings period over summer (09).
