Actor TERRENCE HOWARD is mourning the death of his mother after she lost her battle with cancer.
The Iron Man star’s mum, Anita Williams, passed away earlier this week (begs22Sep08) after a long fight against the disease.
Howard’s representative tells People.com, "Terrence Howard’s mother, Anita Williams, has sadly passed away after a long battle with cancer.
"Terrence will take some time to privately grieve with his family. He appreciates everyone’s support during this difficult time." Howard, a father of three, is known to be close to his family, telling reporters earlier this year (08) how he gives large amounts of money to his relatives.

Comedian KATHY GRIFFIN is suing a website for $100,000 (£55,000) over claims they made money from her name and image.
The star filed a claim against the owners of KathyGriffin.com at Los Angeles’ Superior Court on 16 September (08).
She says she was contacted by the owners of the site in July (08) offering it for sale for $3,500 (£1,940).
The lawsuit states, "The harm to plaintiff is direct and palpable. When consumers encounter defendants’ unauthorised website, they are likely to be confused into believing that plaintiff authorises, sponsors or somehow is affiliated with the domain name, the defendants and with their website, which is not the case.
"Defendants are also trading on plaintiff’s good reputation and recognisable name for a commercial purpose, converting the potential economic value in plaintiff’s identity to their advantage and reaping the uncompensated benefit from the unauthorized use of plaintiff’s name and identity."

BLACK MOON rapper BUCKSHOT has been hospitalised after suffering a series of seizures.
The Brooklyn-based hip-hop star was forced to seek emergency medical treatment after returning from a tour in Europe. He is currently in a stable condition in hospital.
No other details about the rapper’s medical condition were available as WENN went to press.
Buckshot’s hospitalisation means the rap trio has been forced to reschedule a reunion concert in New York which was due to take place on Friday (26Sep08).
A statement from the star’s Duck Down Records music label reads, "While of course we are disappointed to have to reschedule a sold out show, obviously nothing takes precedent over Buckshot’s health. If he could walk out of that hospital on his own right now I know he would have been on that stage. He was truly looking forward to this night." The show has been rearranged for 11 November (08) and disappointed fans have been offered refunds.

KANYE WEST didn’t want his mother to go through the cosmetic surgery procedure which killed her, according to his aunt.
Yolanda West admits her rapper nephew was reluctant for his mother to have the tummy tuck in November (07), but decided to support her wishes.
His aunt says, "There were some moments when she dieted, some moments when she’d lose the weight, but you know how we do, we pick that weight back up and she finally got to a point where she just wanted to get it done and completely be done with the dieting.
"It was a quick fix for her to where the dieting just wasn’t working. Did Kanye want it done? No. But he’s a mama’s boy and what mum wanted was what he wanted to make sure she had. And now he’s got no mum."

AMERICAN IDOL star CLAY AIKEN is a fantastic father who dotes on his baby son, according to the child’s mother.
Aiken finally revealed he was homosexual in the new issue of America’s People magazine, as part of a photospread featuring him and his new baby son Parker, who was born in August (08).
And the baby’s mother - Aiken’s friend and record producer Jaymes Foster says Aiken is the model father.
Foster, who conceived via in vitro fertilisation, tells People.com, "He’s an incredible caregiver. As far as changing the diapers and seeing what’s wrong with (Parker) and getting him to go to sleep, Clay’s a natural and he’s really, really good with that.
"On a larger scale, he’s the perfect person. He’s been a school teacher, we have the same morals, family is very important to him and Parker means everything to us."

Religious rocker PRINCE is often chased through the streets by his fans - as he tries to convert them to the Bible.
The Sexy M.F. singer, who became a Jehovah’s Witness in 2001, goes house-to-house to preach about the faith.

He adds: "There are all kinds of possible deals artists aren’t privy to. I love to bring the Bible to the table. I start by asking if they believe in God, then: ‘What kind of business do you want to conduct: Transparent or hide the ball?’ I’ll do tours and albums if the deal is clean."

The first play of BRITNEY SPEARS’ comeback single WOMANIZER will hit U.S.
airwaves on Friday morning (26Sep08).
The pop superstar’s eagerly anticipated new single was due to hit the airwaves in the America on Monday (22Sep08), but bosses at Jive Records delayed the release of the tune until 29 September (08) at the earliest.
But now the star has announced on her website that the first play will be three days earlier than expected, on Friday (26Sep08) at 6am EST (11am GMT).
A post on Britney.com states, "Womanizer is ready to go and will hit radio stations across the country TOMORROW morning! Thanks for sticking it out and being so patient - it’ll have been well worth it in the morn when you’re eating your Lucky Charms (cereal) and "Womanizer" starts blasting." And the star promises an extra treat for fans, adding: "Oh, and check back in a few hours for a little somethin’ somethin’. Until then, maybe the official artwork for "Womanizer" will tide you over… it puts those other knock-off graphics to shame, don’tcha think? xx" The artwork for the single has the star’s name written in thin, jagged gold writing, with Womanizer depicted in thicker purple lines - although there is no image of the singer.
The song will be posted on the website six hours after the first radio play, at 12pm EST (5pm GMT) .

LATEST: AMY WINEHOUSE’s husband BLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL has started proceedings to leave jail and faces a strict curfew, according to reports.
Fielder-Civil is currently serving a 27-month sentence at Highpoint prison in Suffolk, England for causing actual bodily harm (ABH) and perverting the course of justice.
He has decided to accept an early release deal which will see him living with his mother in Nottinghamshire, England - something he had earlier declined to do.
Under the agreement, he will wear an electronic tag and be under a strict 7pm curfew - but will make daily round trips to visit Winehouse in London, according to Britain’s The Sun newspaper.
A source tells the publication, "Amy is obviously chuffed. But more surprisingly, even her family and friends are pleased. Because Blake will have to lead the disciplined life to keep in line with his conditions of release they are hoping it will rub off on her too.
"He has to be back at his mum’s every evening - and he’s so jealous and controlling he won’t want her up to no good without him."

BILLY BOB THORNTON has praised his ex-wife ANGELINA JOLIE, calling her "one of my best friends in the world".
The former couple married in 2000 and adopted seven-year-old son Maddox together, before divorcing in 2003.
And Thornton has only fond memories of Jolie, who now lives with Brad Pitt and went on to adopt two other tots and give birth to three biological children with the actor.

The Crash star is mother to two daughters, Ripley, eight, and Nico, four, and she had such good experiences, using a birthing pool for both labours, that she would love to do it again.

LIAM NEESON shuns method acting, and doesn’t understand the acclaim stars such as DANIEL DAY LEWIS and ROBERT DE NIRO receive for their roles.
Day Lewis refused to have treatment for pneumonia during the filming of 2002’s Gangs Of New York, which Neeson starred in, because it wasn’t inkeeping with the period the film was set in.
And the 56-year-old doesn’t understand the approach of "dreaming and sleeping" any character he plays - insisting that his talent is enough to carry a role.
He says, "Actors such as Daniel Day Lewis and Robert De Niro are often held up as ‘this is the way to act’ but I don’t go to bed dreaming and sleeping the character.
"There’s a lot of b******* in acting. I’m not criticising those guys as actors but sometimes you just have to show up and deliver a speech. You don’t have to pretend to be somebody, I like to think I am enough.
"I’m not interested in ‘Oh he lost 30 pounds for this role’. I think that should stay private. I don’t wanna hear it."
