DeGENERES BACKS CANCER CAMPAIGN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:27 pm

Talk show host ELLEN DeGENERES has recorded a series of phone messages as part of a new breast cancer awareness campaign.
The TV star has pledged to help women diagnose the killer disease early as part of October’s (08) Breast Cancer Awareness month.
The messages, which can be delivered by online request, urge people to check for signs of the illness.
DeGeneres says, "I went into a studio and recorded a million different (versions): ‘Hi, this is Ellen DeGeneres and your sister told me to remind you that it’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month’, ‘Your teacher told me to call you’, ‘Your neighbour told me to call you’, ‘Your cousin’, ‘Your mother’." And the star insists he is happy to help the campaign because it is a cause which has affected her personally.
She adds, "My mom, 30 years ago, had a mastectomy. It’s changed my life because I’m highly aware I’m vulnerable to this disease and I get a mammogram every year."
