PINK: ‘I HATE MY NAME’
Pop star PINK hates both her birth name and her music moniker, insisting neither give her an identity.
The singer has been known as Pink since her childhood and carried the name through her music career, but now she admits she is not a fan of the colourful nickname - nor her birth name, Alecia.
She says, "When people call me Alecia Beth Moore, I cringe. I feel like I’m grounded all over again. It’s like (movie character) Mommie Dearest is going to come out with a wire hanger.
"I don’t feel like Pink either. I feel like I’m a soul walking around. I don’t feel defined by the name… I just feel like a really strange girl."
