OPRAH WINFREY has dismissed reports MARIAH CAREY has cancelled an appearance on her U.S. chat show on Friday (26Sep08), when she was allegedly set to announce she is pregnant.
The pop singer was rumoured to have booked an appearance on the show to share the news that she is expecting her first child with husband Nick Cannon, according to internet reports.
But a representative from Winfrey’s production company, Harpo, insists there are no scheduled plans to have Carey on the show either now or in the immediate future.
Meanwhile, Carey’s spokesperson has shot down claims the star is pregnant - a rumour she that has plagued her since exchanging vows with Cannon in April (08) after a whirlwind romance.

BRITNEY SPEARS is back to work on the set of her music video for her comeback song WOMANIZER - as a waitress.
The singer was photographed wearing a black wig and red lipstick while filming on Wednesday (24Sep08) at a lounge in downtown Los Angeles.
She was accompanied by a troupe of dancers, who arrived at the shoot dressed in waiter uniforms including white dress shirts, skinny ties, and black pants or leggings.
The video is being directed by Joseph Kahn, who also helmed Spears’ Toxic and Stronger promos.
Womanizer is the first single from Spears’ upcoming album, Circus. It is expected for release at the end of the month (Sep08).

Actress EVA MENDES has confessed to harbouring a crush on fellow Hollywood beauty KEIRA KNIGHTLEY.
The Training Day star is happily dating producer George Gargurevich, but she admits she finds herself attracted to stars of both sexes.

Actress CONSTANCE MARIE is set to become a first-time mother with when she gives birth to a baby girl early next year (09).
The former George Lopez star, 43, and yoga teacher Kent Katich are expecting their new addition in February.
Marie admits she "wasn’t sure" she wanted to start a family initially, but insists the news has changed her mind.
She tells America’s Us Weekly magazine, "After 10, 11 years of playing a mum, starting with (1997 biopic) Selena and then to the George Lopez show, I think I finally decided that I wanted to be one in real life!" She continues, "If you’re not around children constantly, you don’t realise how wonderful they are! Marie adds that she and Katich, who’ve been together since the mid-1990s still aren’t sure if they’ll tie the knot before or after the baby arrives.
She says: "I think marriage is a wonderful thing, and I believe in it, but really things are so good… why mess with them? I’ve heard success stories from both sides, so I think we are good.
"It’ll be his little girl, too - and she’ll have his last name. I hope she has his nose too! He has a great nose!"

RESERVOIR DOGS star MICHAEL MADSEN has been given a 50th birthday gift he’ll never forget - Irish moviemaker MARK MAHON has made him godfather to his baby son.
The actor, who hits the half century today (25Sep08), has been asked to act as the guardian to his Strength & Honour director’s little boy.
Mahon insists the birthday boy was the perfect choice - because he’s such a sweetheart.
The director says, "He is the sweetest guy you will see." And Mahon hopes his new boxing film will help Madsen break away from playing movie bad guys.
He adds, "There’s a lot of studios who invested a lot of money in Michael as a bad guy, so they probably don’t want Michael to be seen as a good guy, like he is in my film. I would like to think that Michael is making the transition to playing good guys as well." As for his birthday plans, Madsen is hoping to spend the day at his pal Quentin Tarantino’s home, while the director is out of town.
Madsen says, "I bring my sons to his house and he lets them swim in his pool.
His house is filled with memorabilia. The video store that he used to work in has been rebuilt inside his house. He has the Go Go bar from Kill Bill in his basement.
"He has mountains of movie posters and toys. It’s like Citizen Kane in his house. It’s always really fun to be over there. It’s a great place to hang out."

Cancer-battling actor PATRICK SWAYZE plans to film a special episode of his forthcoming series THE BEAST as a video-documentary for his family to watch after his death.
The episode will reportedly co-star his 50-year-old brother, Don, under the direction of Swayze’s wife, Lisa Niemi, and will feature documentary-style behind-the-scenes footage of the production.
Swayze has been praised for his "workhorse" attitude on the Chicago, Illinois set - just months after he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in February (08).
He echoed his bosses’ praise last month (Aug08), insisting he’s feeling healthy and looking forward to recovery.
And while he is confident of a return to full health, he wants to give his family something to remember him by when the time eventually comes for his demise.
Neimi has worked as a writer, producer and actress with her husband on several projects, directing and starring alongside him in 2003 film One Last Dance.
Swayze is set to continue filming the show until November (08).

LATEST: Actress MACKENZIE PHILLIPS’ sister BIJOU insists rehab is "the best thing that’s ever happened" to her older sibling, after she checked into a facility following her arrest on charges of drug possession.
MacKenzie Phillips, 48, entered rehab earlier this month (Sep08) after a Los Angeles judge slapped her with felony charges stemming from her August (08) arrest for possession of a controlled substance.
She was arrested at Los Angeles’ LAX airport after security found her in possession of heroin and cocaine during a routine screening there on 27 August (08).
And 28-year-old actress Bijou Phillips insists she’s happy her sister is finally seeking help after several unsuccessful stints in rehab.
She says: "She’s in recovery now, and we’re so proud of her. This whole thing is the best thing that’s ever happened for her. We’re so happy.
"I’m thankful that this happened and that we were able to do this. It’s like we have our sister back." MacKenzie is scheduled to be arraigned in October (08).

DOES IT OFFEND YOU, YEAH? rocker JAMES RUSHENT has broken his ankle after falling badly onstage in Los Angeles during the final concert on the band’s U.S. tour.
The bassist is hobbling on a broken tibia - but the band has vowed to carry on touring, as their roadshow moves from America to Australia and then their native U.K.
Explaining the accident, drummer Rob Bloomfield says, "He was going crazy during the second to last song. James went up on a monitor and somehow a mic stand fell over, trapped his ankle and then he fell full weight on his leg and snapped his tibia. He went upstairs and when we came up he said, ‘I’ve broken my leg,’ and then we said, ‘Shall we go on and do another song anyway?’ It was a massive sold out show and the crowd wouldn’t let us go without doing an encore. So he hobbled back on stage even though he was in agony. I was quite proud of him. If it was me I’d have cried and said, ‘Take me to hospital now’.
"We’re still going to carry on touring and I guess we’ll do the gigs with James sitting down. I’m really excited about the U.K. tour. Last time we were here there was always 15-20 people singing down the front. I’m hoping everyone will know the words this time and everybody will be going crazy."

AMERICAN IDOL star CLAY AIKEN has overcome a lifelong "struggle" after years searching for acceptance within his religion as a result of his homosexuality.
The 29-year-old singer revealed he was gay in the new issue of U.S. magazine People, featuring him in a photospread with his new baby son Parker on the cover.
Aiken has revealed it wasn’t until he moved out from his North Carolina home to the west coast that he felt comfortable enough to make the admission.
But he admits he also grappled with his personal faith in addition to how the news would affect friends and family before he decided to ‘come out’.
He says, "Of course (I feel at odds with my faith). I have to respect the people who disagree with me. I don’t struggle with it anymore, but there have been times that I have. And I still consider myself a born-again Christian, and I am absolutely comfortable with that and comfortable with my salvation."

Rockers AC/DC are refusing to sell their music through internet download service iTunes, because they fear fans will only purchase "a few tracks".
The band wants fans to purchase their music as a whole package, because the songs "belong together".
Frontman Angus Young says, "We don’t make singles, we make albums.
"If we were on iTunes, we know a certain percentage of people would only download two or three songs from the album. We don’t think that represents us musically." And despite pressure from record label bosses to make the band’s songs available on iTunes, Young doesn’t believe that being part of the site is crucial to success.
He adds, "Since iTunes came into existence, we’ve actually increased our back catalogue sales without being on the site. We were sternly warned by our management team and our record label that the complete opposite would be the case."

Hip-hop star PAUL WALL has been forced to pray for his injured pals TRAVIS BARKER and ADAM ‘DJ AM’ GOLDSTEIN from his home in Houston, Texas - because all flights from the hurricane-ravaged state had been cancelled.
The former Blink-182 drummer and Goldstein were the only survivors after the Learjet they were passengers in on a Friday night (19Sep08) flight to California failed to clear the runway in South Carolina and burst into flames.
They have been hospitalised in a burns unit in Augusta, Georgia, where they are slowly recovering from their injuries. Four passengers died in the crash, including Barker’s assistant Chris Baker - who was also close to Wall.
The Grillz hitmaker admits he attempted to get on a plane to be by his tourmates’ bedsides, but the recent damage caused by Hurricane Ike has caused a backlog of flights out of Houston.
So he’s been keeping his fingers crossed for their full recovery at home.
Wall tells MTV.com he’s spent the last few days "thinking about my friends going through the plane crash, thinking about not having any power (in the city), sulking in my misery".
But being grounded has done nothing for his mood. He adds, "Just sitting at home has been depressing." Now everything is getting back to normal, Wall is expecting to fly to New Mexico for a gig on Sunday (28Sep08). After the show, he plans on paying Barker, Goldstein and Baker’s Los Angeles relatives a visit to offer his condolences, before flying to Georgia to support his pals.

Mexican singer EMILIO NAVAIRA is in "stable condition" after sustaining injuries in a car accident on Wednesday (24Sep08).
The Tejano singer, 46, is believed to have been travelling with his wife Maria in his native city of San Antonio, Texas when a truck turned into his car.
He was taken away on a stretcher, with a neck brace, according to local police.
The accident comes just six months after a bus crash left Navaira in critical condition.

LATEST: A lawyer representing troubled rapper DMX insists the star is not in a "life-threatening situation", despite reportedly admitting himself into a Florida hospital for "fear of stroke" earlier this week.
The hip-hop star - real name Earl Simmons - was allegedly taken to the emergency room at a hospital in Aventura, Florida on Monday (22Sep08).
His health scare caused the rapper to miss a scheduled court appearance on Tuesday (23Sep08) in Arizona - where he was set to appear on charges of theft.
And while his attorney Bradford Cohen refuses to comment on the exact nature of DMX’s illness, he is confident the hospitalisation will have no long-term effects on the hip-hop hitmaker’s health.
Cohen tells Billboard.com, "It was serious enough for him to be brought and taken into a treatment facility.
"He spent the night there last night, and he will probably spend tonight there as well. I don’t think it’s going to be an ongoing thing or a life-threatening situation. He’s going to be all right." DMX also faces several animal cruelty, traffic violation and drug possession counts in the state.

KID ROCK is set to launch his own brand of beer.
The rocker has teamed up with Drinks Americas Holdings to launch a premium domestic beer, which will be released next year (09).
Drinks Americas CEO J Patrick Kenny says, "Kid Rock is a reflection of great American rock-and-roll music and the American spirit, and we think we can create a beer in that same image.
"There is no question in our mind that people will try a beer that Kid Rock will stand by and when they like it, a great and incredibly valuable trademark will be created."

Rap superstar 50 CENT has vowed to sit back and relax after the release of his forthcoming album - he will only return to the music scene when he is "missed" by the public.
The In Da Club hitmaker will release his fourth album, Before I Self Destruct, this December (08), and it will be his penultimate disc for his label Interscope Records.
Plans are currently afoot for a greatest hits collection, which will complete his five-album deal with the firm, leaving him a free agent.
And the star - real name Curtis Jackson - reveals he will be taking it easy once he has fulfilled the terms of his contract, emulating his mentors Eminem and Dr. Dre and only releasing "masterpiece" LPs.
He says, "The luxury that Eminem and Dr. Dre have now, I’ll soon have. I’ll only be putting out music when I have a masterpiece ready.
"But those guys are ready to put out their masterpieces very soon. Eminem’s album is going to blow people away… Like him, I’ll only be coming back when people miss me." Eminem is currently recording tracks for the follow up to 2004’s Encore, while superproducer Dr. Dre is putting the finishing touches to his highly-anticipated LP Detox - only his third solo album to date and the first since the 1999 release of 2001.

PAMELA ANDERSON has vowed never to watch her infamous sex tape with ex-husband TOMMY LEE.
The former Baywatch star famously performed sex acts on her then-husband in the footage, which was leaked to a porn company and distributed a decade ago.
But Anderson, who has since made her own reality TV show, claims she has never watched the raunchy video and never will - because she already sees too much of Lee.

Superstar Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, wed the Bootylicious beauty in April (08), and 50 Cent claims it was their union - not the rap mogul’s music - that raised his profile on the international scene.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE and JESSICA BIEL have taken their relationship to the next level - they are househunting together in New York.
The couple has been touring condominiums in the Big Apple, where they have reportedly expressed interest in buying a home.
According to the New York Post, Biel and Timberlake are "quite impressed" with a $2.9 million (£1.6 million) duplex in Manhattan’s Chelsea district.
The 2,224-square-foot unit boasts three bedrooms, two baths, 16-foot ceilings and a sauna.
