DOHERTY’S MOSS PORTRAIT TO BE AUCTIONED
KATE MOSS’ self-portrait inscribed in ex-boyfriend PETE DOHERTY’s blood is expected to raise at least $54,000 (£30,000) at auction this weekend.
The painting, which was created between 2005 and 2006, will be sold at Edinburgh auction house Lyon & Turnball in Scotland on Saturday (27Sep08).
The rocker - who split from supermodel Moss last year (07) - is selling the portrait with a certificate of authenticity scrawled on a napkin.
Moss is understood to have ‘painted’ the piece in lipstick while Doherty used his blood to write: "Who needs blood when you’ve got lipstick?"
