CAREY TO BE AMBASSADOR FOR HUNGER CHARITY
Pop sensation MARIAH CAREY is to be named a global ambassador for a hunger relief charity.
The singer will front the Yum! Foundation’s appeal to raise money for the United Nations World Food Programme.
She will be unveiled as the organisation’s new frontwoman on Thursday (25Sep08).
Yum! owns restaurant chains Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and KFC.
As ambassador, Carey will appear in posters in more than 36,000 stores in over 112 countries.
Carey wants fans to donate money and download her song Love Story at FromHungerToHope.com - 25 cents from every download will go to the foundation.
